Ti-bearing slag(TiO2>20 wt%)is a valuable titanium secondary resource.The extraction of titanium from the slag is difficult due to the complex composition and structure.Although molten oxide electrolysis is conside...Ti-bearing slag(TiO2>20 wt%)is a valuable titanium secondary resource.The extraction of titanium from the slag is difficult due to the complex composition and structure.Although molten oxide electrolysis is considered as a promising method,silicon will be preferentially electroreduced compared to titanium due to low theoretical decomposition voltage.In this work,a liquid copper cathode is used to selectively extract titanium from molten Al2O3-MgO-CaO-TiO2-SiO2 electrolyte.It is found that comparing to silicon,titanium can be preferentially reduced by one-step electron transfer due to the enhanced depolarization effect on a liquid copper cathode.So,Ti-Cu alloys are firstly obtained from molten Ti-bearing slag,and then Ti-Si alloys are co-electrodeposited in the molten oxide electrolyte with low TiO2 content.It may be ascribed to the larger binding force between titanium and copper than that between silicon and copper.It provides an effective strategy for the separation of titanium from of Ti-bearing slag.展开更多
Chitosan (CTS) coatings contained calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) on titanium (Ti) surface are prepared by the cathode liquid phase plasma technology (CLPT), in a certain concentration electrolyte solution w...Chitosan (CTS) coatings contained calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) on titanium (Ti) surface are prepared by the cathode liquid phase plasma technology (CLPT), in a certain concentration electrolyte solution with selective additions of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and calcium nitrate. It is indicated that the parameters for a stable discharge are voltage of 400 V, frequency of 100 Hz, duty cycle of 30% based on a large amount of experiment data. The morphology, structure and composition of the coated samples are studied by SEM, FTIR, XRD, XPS. The results demonstrate that the composite coatings are uniform, and some solid particles of inorganic salt containing calcium and phosphorus dispersed on the coatings. CA tests show that the samples treated by the liquid plasma became less hydrophilic. The variation of hydrophilicity on the CLPT treated titanium is attributed to the change of the function groups on the sample surface. Meanwhile, a possible formation mechanism of the composite coatings is discussed.展开更多

An attempt has been made to link the thermophysical properties of a ternary Cu-Sn-Ti system and its binary Cu-Sn, Cu-Ti and SnoTi subsystems with the bulk through the study of the concentration dependence of various thermodynamic, structural, surface and dynamic properties in the frame of the statistical mechanical theory in conjunction with the quasi-lattice theory (QLT). This formalism provides valuable qualitative insight into mixing processes that occur in molten alloys.展开更多

Limonene oil dissolving expanded polystyrene and ethylene glycol were adopted as the dispersed phase and the continuous phase, respectively. Magnetite and titanium dioxide were used as solid powders. Magnetite was added before or after formation of the (O/W) dispersion. Titanium dioxide was added at the various elapsed times from addition of magnetite. Titanium dioxide adhered only on the surface of composite particles irrespective of addition time. At the earlier addition of both solid powders, the surface-covering type composite particles were prepared. At the latter addition of titanium dioxide, a part of magnetite adhered on the surface and the remainder was dispersed into composite particle.展开更多
