Zhenjiang City is in possession of adequate source markets, abundant rural tourism resources, good tourist ecological environment and profound culture. The pleasant ecological environment and charming rural scenery provide the development of rural tourism in Zhenjiang with exceptional advantages. The exploitation of rural tourism not only promotes the exploitation and development of agricultural tourism in Zhenjiang, but also improves the structure of tourism product, simulating the healthy development of rural economy. Through the analysis of the exploitation advantage of the rural tourism resources in Zhenjiang, the author analyzed the exploitation situation and existing problems of the rural tourism resources in Zhenjiang. The author considered that the rural tourism development in Zhenjiang was lack of unified planning; the cultural content of tourism product was low; the development depth was not enough; the construction of infrastructure was lagging behind; and meanwhile, it was lacking of funding, tourism program and advertising promotion. In the light of the above deficiencies, a series of countermeasures of rural tourism exploitation was put forward, that is, to complete the exploitation planning of the rural tourism resources, promoting the cultural taste of the rural tourism product; to enhance the publicity of the rural tourism, highlighting the brand feature of local tourism and creating high-quality product; to conduct standard management, strengthening the training of tourism management personnel.展开更多

This article applies the theories of livelihood to study the community evolution driven by tourism livelihood and examine three mountainous tourism communities in different stages of tourist area life cycle. Drawing on the methods of GIS spatial analysis, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, this article proposes a sustainable livelihood framework for ethnic tourism to explore the evolution of ethnic tourism communities by identifying changes in livelihood assets(natural, financial, social, cultural and human capitals) in the process of tourism development. The results show that the development of ethnic tourism has led to changes in the increase of building land, and the diversification of land use functions with a trend of shifting from meeting local villagers' living needs to satisfying tourists, income composition and uneven distribution of tourism income spatially. Ethnic tourism also led to the deterioration of traditional social management structure, collapse of neighboring relationship, the over- commercialization and staged authenticity of ethnic culture, as well as the gradual vanish of agricultural knowledge with a trend of increasing modern business knowledge and higher education. In addition, these changes, involving livelihood assets from natural, economic, human, social and cultural aspects are interrelated and interactive, which form new evolution characters of ethnic community. This study reveals the conflicts over livelihood approaches which have formed new vulnerabilities to impact on sustainable evolution of ethnic communities. This research provides implications for achieving the sustainable development of ethnic communities with the driving force of tourism livelihood.展开更多

In the new era, fully exploring and making full use of farming culture resources has important practical significance for the protection, inheritance and innovation of Chinese excellent traditional culture. The rapid development and successful brand shaping of Hani terrace tourism could provide experience for the exploration and utilization of farming culture tourism resources in other areas of China. However,at present, there is no special study about Kiribati’s tourism resources, landscape features, and industrial development inside and outside of Kiribati. Through review and analysis, the author believes that Kiribati’s national tourism resources are rich, distinctive and have high development potential, and it will play a major role in Kiribati’s economic and social development. Its tourism resources could be exploited from 9 aspects including characteristic geography, human landscape, ecological environment, water sports and historical sites. At present, the infrastructure such as transportation and communication in Kiribati is poor, and the tourism industry is still weak and small, remains at starting stage, lacks overall planning, and professional talents are short. In summary,it is necessary to be improved in many ways. It is recommended that Kiribati should vigorously develop cultural and educational undertakings, strengthen the infrastructure construction across the country, formulate national tourism development plans, focus on the construction of five major scenic tourist areas, and stick to the green, ecological and sustainable development principle.展开更多

Coal measures formed in the delta plain environment where sufficient terrestrial materials are supplied contain relatively abundant trace elements and rare-earth elements, whereas those formed in the tidal-fiat environment influenced greatly by seawater have relatively low contents of trace elements and rare-earth elements, mainly con- trolled by the geological fact that basalts the parent rocks from source regions contain high trace elements and rare-earth elements. In addition, coal measures affected by later hydrothermal activities and fault tectonics contain a large amount of harmful elements. According to the rules of distribution of elements in coal measures, a new idea was put forward to classify coal-forming environments by using the geochemical composition characteristics, which is of great significance in dissolving the problem of whether coal measures were fbrmed either in delta environments or in tidal-flat environments in Western Gui- zhou. At the same time, the rules of distribution of elements in the main exploitable coal measures in Western Guizhou were fully understood, which is of direct significance in utilizing coal resources on the basis of classification of coals, as well as in developing the coal chemical industry.展开更多

This paper draws on the experience of fast-expanding tourist centres in Central America, in addition to worldwide compilations of published data. It suggests that underlying the specific problems of each of these three major aspects of globalized tourism, there exists a deeper malaise: its potential contribution to a deeper rift between "haves" and "have-nots". Income inequality has clearly always existed; however, the awareness of such inequality may spread through the globalizing nature of intemational tourism. Such consciousness may lead to increasing resentment, despite the injection of tourist income into the local economy. One-way exploitation is thus distinguished from mutual exploitation, and in that context, "gringoitis" and social degradation are discussed. The possibility is explored that growth in global tourism is ultimately beneficial. However, the dark side of that growth needs further exposure. That is the aim of this paper.展开更多
