Analysis on the medication rules and mechanisms of action of traditional Chinese medicine in treating cervical cancer

Objective: To summarize the rule of application of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer, and to explore the molecular mechanism of the compatibility of core herbs. Methods: Collect relevant literatures on cervical cancer in Chinese National Knowledgey Ifrastructure (CNKI), use TCM inheritance platform system (TCMISSV2.5) for association rules and complex system entropy clustering analysis;use BATMAN-TCM online analysis tools to construct target-pathway-disease network to reveal the underlying mechanisms of action. Results: Among the 78 prescriptions selected, a total of 172 Chinese medicines were used, and the five most frequently used herbs were Huang-bo (Phellodendri Chinrnsis Cortex), Fu-ling (Poria Cocos), Huang-qi (Hedysarum Multijugum Maxim.), Bai-hua-she-she-cao (Hedyotis Diffusae Herba) and Gan-cao (Licorice). Bai-hua-she-she-cao (Hedyotis Diffusae Herba) and Huang-qi (Hedysarum Multijugum Maxim.), Bai-hua-she-she-cao (Hedyotis Diffusae Herba) and Fu-ling (Poria Cocos), Bai-zhu (Atractylodes Macrocephala Koidz.) and Fu-ling (Poria Cocos) are the three most commonly used medicine match. In addition, through cluster analysis, a total of 4 core herbs compatibility and 2 new prescriptions were excavated. Herbs in the new prescriptions which are used to clearing heat-toxin and removing dampness were most frequently used. Through the analysis of the signal pathway of high frequency Chinese medicines, we found that neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction pathway may play important roles. Conclusion: The core Chinese medicines for the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer are mainly clearing heat-toxin and removing dampness. The core Chinese medicines may play their anti-cervical cancer by interfering with the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction signaling pathway.

Prescription and treatment rules for the prescriptions containing Poria cocos and Atractylodes macrocephala couplet medicine based on traditional Chinese Medicine inheritance support platform

Objectives:To provide a theoretical basis for the development of the new products of Poria cocos-Atractylodes macrocephala couplet medicine.Methods:All prescription preparations containing Poria cocos and Atractylodes macrocephala were collected from the Drug Standards of the Ministry of Public Health Drug Standard·Traditional Chinese Medicine Set Prescription Preparation(called Traditional Chinese Medicine Set Prescription Preparation for short).After standardization,the information of each prescription preparation was input into the Chinese Traditional Medicine Inheritance Support Platform(V2.5),and the relevant rules of the software were adopted.Data mining methods were used to analyze the frequency of drugs,main symptoms and diseases in prescriptions,and to analyze the regularity of prescriptions.The prescription rules of top 2 high frequency attending syndromes and diseases were analyzed.Results:There were total of 337 prescription preparations containing couplet medicine of Poria cocos and Atractylodes macrocephala,107 kinds of main symptoms and 66 kinds of diseases.The high frequency syndromes were deficiency of Qi and blood and weakness of spleen and stomach,and the high frequency syndromes were anorexia and irregular menstruation.Conclusion:The couplet medicine of Poria cocos-atractylodes macrocephala prescription is mainly used to treat digestive tract diseases and gynecological diseases;it mostly takes tonifying deficiency efficat.It can treat different diseases being compatible with different medicinal materials.The study can provide theoretical basis for clinical application and new drug development of the couplet medicine of Poria cocos-atractylodes macrocephala.

Compatibility rule of traditional Chinese medicine for treatment of cardiac neurosis based on data mining

Objective:To analyze the prescription and medication rule of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in treating cardiac neurosis by using the software of"Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Assistant Platform(V2.5)".Methods:China Journal Full-Text Database,Wanfang database,Weipu Chinese Periodical Service Platform and Chinese biomedical literature database were retrieved according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Literatures on the treatment of cardiac neurosis with TCM prescriptions were screened out and data mining was carried out using the TCM inheritance assistant platform.Use frequency,commonly used dose,the frequency of properties,flavors and meridian distribution were counted.Association rules and entropy clustering analysis for complex system were used to extract core drug combinations and unsupervised entropy hierarchical clustering was used to predict potential new prescriptions.Results:Through literature retrieval and screening,210 types of prescriptions were finally selected,and 181 types of Chinese herbs were extracted,with cumulative frequency of 2410 times.Among them,there were 46 traditional Chinese medicines that were used more than 15 times.According to the efficacy and indication,they were classified into qi-regulating drugs,tranquilizers,qi-tonifying drugs,heat-clearing drugs,blood-tonifying drugs,etc.According to properties,flavors,and meridian distribution,warm and sweet drugs were the most commonly used,mostly distributing to the heart meridian,followed by liver and spleen meridians.Association rules showed that combination of radix paeoniae and paeonia-bupleurum was the most used;faructus aurantii and bupleurum had the strongest correlation,up to 90%.The network diagram indicated that bupleurum,angelica sinensis,radix paeoniae radix,and poria cocos were the core of the association network.Based on complex system entropy clustering,24 core drug combinations were obtained.The unsupervised entropy hierarchical clustering algorithm was used to extract 12 core drug combinations,and 6 potential new formulae were obtained by further clustering.Conclusion:Regulating qi and blood,addressing both symptoms and causes,and using purgation and tonification at the same time is the principle of the treatment of cardiac neuropathy with TCM.The treatment mainly starts from the heart,liver and spleen,and therapies include soothing the liver and regulating qi,clearing heat and resolving phlegm,tranquilizing and calming the nerves,and prompting blood circulation and diuresis.

Based on the national patent database to explore the rule of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of hyperlipidemia

Objective:To explore the medication law of traditional Chinese medicine compound patent for hyperlipidemia,and to provide reference for the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine new drugs for clinical treatment of hyperlipidemia.Methods:All compound TCM patents related to the treatment of hyperlipidemia were searched and extracted from the national patent database(http://epub.sipo.gov.cn)from the establishment of the database to 10st,March 2021.The data was established by the TCM Inheritance Support System(V2.5)and Microsoft Excel 2010 Softwore,and used to conduct TCM syndromes,frequency statistics,four nature and five flavors of traditional Chinese medicine,meridian attribution statistics.IBM SPSS statistics 20 software was used for drug clustering analysis,IBM SPSS modeler 18.2.2 software was used for association rules and web visualization analysis.Results:Totally 284 compound TCM patents were included,involving 577 kinds of Chinese medicine,and the most common syndrome was Yin deficiency of liver and kidney syndrome(74 times,accounting for 26.06%).The most ten common Chinese materiamedica was Hawthorn,Salvia miltiorrhiza,Alismaorientalis,Cassia seed,Polygonummultiflorum,Licorice,Poriacocos,chinese rhubarb,dried tangerine peel,Radix Paeoniae Alba.The top three appeared frequently in drug categories were tonifying deficiency medicine,activating blood-circulation and dissipating blood-stasis medicine,and heat-clearing medicine,respectively.The top two of its drug properties were warm and cold;the top three drug tastes were sweet,bitterness and pungent;the top two meridians were liver and spleen meridian,respectively.Seven drug groups were obtained by cluster analysis,and 16 were obtained by association rule analysis,including 5 drug pairs and 11 three drug groups.Conclusion:Through the data mining of the patent of traditional Chinese medicine compound prescription for regulating and treating hyperlipidemia,it is concluded that the fundamental pathogenesis of the disease is deficiency of viscera function and obstruction of phlegm and blood stasis.The clinical methods are tonifying the liver and kidney,activating blood circulation and removing stasis,resolving phlegm and removing dampness.Traditional Chinese medicine is mostly used for tonifying deficiency,activating blood circulation,removing stasis,resolving phlegm and removing dampness.This paper provides a reference for the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine for hyperlipidemia.

Rule of prescribing traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of pneumoconiosis basedon association rules and k-means clustering algorithm

Objective:To analyze the rule of prescribing traditional Chinese medicine for treating pneumoconiosis,so as to provide reference for differential diagnosis and treatment of pneumoconiosis as well as for the development of new drugs for treatingthe disease.Methods:We searched China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database and VIP Chinese PublicationDatabase to retrieve relevant literatures which were then screened according to the enrollment criteria to establish a prescriptiondatabase of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of pneumoconiosis.The inheritance calculation platform of traditionalChinese medicine was used to analyze the prescribing rule of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of pneumoconiosisbased on association rules,k-means clustering algorithm and regression model analysis.Results:A total of 131 related literature were preliminarily selected,from which 97 prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine with a total of 195 herbs were included.The most frequently prescribed herbs included Radix astragali,Platycodon grandiflorum,Pinellia ternata,licorice,Codonopsispilosula,Salvia miltiorrhiza,bitter almond etc.A total of 14 association rules,13 high-frequency herb pairs were found and 5groups of formulas were revealed by cluster analysis.Conclusion:The prescriptions for the treatment of pneumoconiosis are mainly composed of herbs for tonifying deficiency,resolving phlegm,relieving cough and asthma,activating blood circulation and removingblood stasis,which are supplemented with herbs for clearing heat,relieving appearance,regulating qi,promoting waterand permeating dampness,etc.,The prescribing rules reflect the basic pathological characteristics of lung deficiency and collateral arthralgia in pneumoconiosis,which provides some ideas for the clinical differentiation and treatment of pneumoconiosis in traditionalChinese medicine.It also provides reference for the research and development of new treatment methods.

Analysis of prescription rules in the treatment of diabetic heart disease based on traditional Chinese medicine inheritance support system

Diabetes is a common clinical disease and has many complications,among which diabetic heart disease is the leading cause of death in diabetic patients.This article collected the prescriptions for the treatment of diabetic heart disease,and used the traditional Chinese medicine inheritance support system to explore the prescription formulation rules.Finally,we included 43 prescriptions for analysis.We found that the rules of formulas for treating diabetic heart disease are complex,but Chinese medicines in these formulas are mainly with the effects of nourishing Qi,nourishing Yin and activating blood circulation.At the same time,we obtained 3 new prescriptions and discussed the clinical rationality of the new prescriptions.The purpose of this article is to provide reference for clinical prescription in the treatment of diabetic heart disease and the development of related new drugs.

Analysis on the rules of prescriptions for ischemic stroke based on the traditional Chinese medicine inheritance auxiliary system

In China,traditional Chinese medicine is widely used in the treatment of ischemic stroke,but its prescription rules needs to be further studied.This paper uses the traditional Chinese medicine inheritance auxiliary system(a software)to analyze the composition rules of a large number of prescriptions for the treatment of ischemic stroke,and discusses the clinical rationality of the new prescriptions.We found that the prescriptions for the treatment of ischemic stroke are mainly composed by herbs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis,dredging collaterals and tonifying deficiency,and some of the new prescriptions are also in line with this characteristic.This paper can provide reference for clinical prescription in the treatment of ischemic stroke and the development of related new drugs.

Analysis of the rule of medication for internal administration of gout by traditional Chinese medicine based on Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance System

Objective:Based on the TCMIS(traditional Chinese medicine inheritance system)V2.5 to explore the rule of medication used in internal TCM(traditional Chinese medicine)for gout in the national patent network.Method:Collect the internal administrations of gout in the national patent network,and enter them into the Chinese medicine inheritance system V2.5,adopt Frequency analysis,association rules,complex system entropy clustering and other data mining methods to analyse the internal traditional formula of traditional Chinese medicine for gout.Results:By inclusion,exclusion criteria,357 formulas are screened out,involving 494 medicine,63 medicine with frequency of use≥20,and 40 commonly used medicine pairs.The core medicine are:Huangbai(Cortex Phellodendri),Cangzhu(Rhizoma Atracylodis),Niuxi(Radix Acanthopanacis Bidentatae),Yiyiren(Semen Coicis),Tufuling(Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae),Bixie(Rhizome Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae),Gancao(Radix Glycyrrhizae),Weilingxian(Radix Clematidis),Zexie(Rhizoma Alismatis),Danggui(Radix Angelicae Sinensis),Chuanxiong(Rhizoma Chuanxiong).There are 28 new combinations and 14 new formulas.Conclusion:In the national patent network,the internal traditional Chinese medicine for gout is based on clearing away heat and dampness,activating blood circulation to dredge collaterals,which provides reference for clinical treatment of gout.

A study of medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of pre diabetes based on data mining

Background:To summarize the concerted application and prescription rules of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of pre diabetes.Methods:Microsoft Excel 2010 was used to summarize the categories,nature,flavour and channel tropism of drugs.The cluster analysis of high-frequency drugs was carried out by SPSS 22.0,and the association rules of high-frequency drugs were analyzed by Apriori algorithm provided by SPSS modeler 14.0.Results:One hundred and forty-six references were included,including 153 prescriptions and 131 drugs.Their frequency of use is listed in the following order.The top 3 categories of drugs were“Tonifying,Heat-Clearing”,diuresis and“Diffusing Dampness”drugs.The top 5 drugs were Huangqi(Astragali radix),Fuling(Poria),Huanglian(Coptidis rhizoma),Shanyao(Dioscoreae rhizoma),Gegen(Puerariae lobatae radix).The top 3 channel tropism of drugs were spleen,stomach and lung.The top 3 nature of drugs were cold,warm and calm.The top 3 flavour of drugs were sweet,bitter and pungent.The cluster analysis of high-frequency drugs showed that it could be classified into 4 categories:“Benefiting Qi”for promoting production of fluid,“Clearing Heat”and“Eliminating Dampness”,“Nourishing Yin”and“Clearing Heat”,and“Invigorating Spleen”for“Diffusing Dampness”.The results of association rule analysis showed that the combination with the highest degree of confidence and support was Poria-Chenpi(Citri reticulatae pericarpium)-Banxia(Pinelliae rhizoma)-Baizhu(Atractylodis macrocephalae rhizoma)and the combination with the highest frequency was Astragali radix-Puerariae lobatae radix.Conclusion:The pre diabetes is due to deficiency.The disease location is spleen and stomach and the pathological factor is phlegm-damp,that is why benefiting qi and invigorating spleen is regarded as the key link of clinical treatment.

Analysis on medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine for postpartum abdominal pain

Background:To explore the medication rules in traditional Chinese medicine for treating postpartum abdominal pain by using data mining technology.Methods:First,according to inclusion and exclusion criteria,the prescriptions for treating postpartum abdominal pain were collected and screened by referring to the Dictionary of Traditional Chinese Medicine Prescriptions,CNKI,Wanfang,Vip database,Chaoxing database,CBM and other databases.Then,the traditional Chinese medicinal materials were analyzed by ancient and modern medical cases cloud platform.Results:295 first prescriptions were included,involving 248 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine,and the usage frequency of traditional Chinese medicine reached 2,189 times.The efficacy of the top 22 herbs with the highest use frequency is mainly tonic drugs and drugs for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis,mainly with the nature of warmness and spiciness,and the channel tropisms mainly include liver meridians,spleen meridians,and heart meridians.The association rule analysis shows 17 high-frequency traditional Chinese medicine combinations with the support≥0.1 and the confidence≥0.8.Three new drug combinations were obtained through cluster mining;both of them took supplementing qi and nourishing blood,promoting blood circulation,and removing stasis as the main treatments.Conclusions:The basic principle of treatment is strengthening the body’s resistance to eliminate pathogenic factors.Therefore,when treating postpartum abdominal pain to promote postpartum recovery,it mainly combines the drugs for benefiting Qi and nourishing blood,invigorating blood circulation,and eliminating stasis.

Traditional Chinese medicine Master XIONG Jibo’s medication experience in treating arthralgia syndrome through data mining

Objective This study aimed to examine and propagate the medication experience and group formula of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)Master XIONG Jibo in diagnosing and treat-ing arthralgia syndrome(AS)through data mining.Methods Data of outpatient cases of Professor XIONG Jibo were collected from January 1,2014 to December 31,2018,along with cases recorded in A Real Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor:XIONG Jibo's Clinical Medical Record 1,which was published in December 2019.The five variables collected from the patients’data were TCM diagnostic information,TCM and western medicine diagnoses,syndrome,treatment,and prescription.A database was established for the collected data with Excel.Using the Python environment,a custom-ized modified natural language processing(NLP)model for the diagnosis and treatment of AS by Professor XIONG Jibo was established to preprocess the data and to analyze the word cloud.Frequency analysis,association rule analysis,cluster analysis,and visual analysis of AS cases were performed based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Computing Platform(V3.0)and RStudio(V4.0.3).Results A total of 610 medical records of Professor XIONG Jibo were collected from the case database.A total of 103 medical records were included after data screening criteria,which comprised 187 times(45 kinds)of prescriptions and 1506 times(125 kinds)of Chinese herbs.The main related meridians were the liver,spleen,and kidney meridians.The properties of Chinese herbs used most were mainly warm,flat,and cold,while the flavors of herbs were mainly bitter,pungent,and sweet.The main patterns of AS included the damp heat,phlegm stasis,and neck arthralgia.The most commonly used herbs for AS were Chuanniuxi(Cyathu-lae Radix),Huangbo(Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex),Cangzhu(Atractylodis Rhizoma),Qinjiao(Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix),Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma),Huangqi(Astragali Radix),and Chuanxiong(Chuanxiong Rhizoma).The most common effect of the herbs was“promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis”,followed by“supple-menting deficiency(Qi supplementing,blood supplementing,and Yang supplementing)”,and“dispelling wind and dampness”.The data were analyzed with the support≥15%and con-fidence=100%,and after de-duplication,five second-order association rules,39 third-order association rules,39 fourth-order association rules,and two fifth-order association rules were identified.The top-ranking association rules of each were“Cangzhu(Atractylodis Rhizoma)→Huangbo(Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex)”“Cangzhu(Atractylodis Rhizoma)+Chuanniuxi(Cyathulae Radix)→Huangbo(Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex)”“Chuanniuxi(Cyathulae Radix)+Danggui(Angelicae Sinensis Radix)+Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma)→Qinjiao(Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix)”and“Chuanniuxi(Cyathulae Radix)+Danggui(Angelicae Sinensis Radix)+Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma)+Huangbo(Phello-dendri Chinensis Cortex)→Qinjiao(Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix)”,respectively.Five clusters were obtained using cluster analysis of the top 30 herbs.The herbs were mainly dry-ing dampness,supplementing Qi,and promoting blood circulation.The main prescriptions of AS were Ermiao San(二妙散),Gegen Jianghuang San(葛根姜黄散),and Huangqi Chongteng Yin(黄芪虫藤饮).The herbs of core prescription included Cangzhu(Atractylodis Rhizoma),Chuanniuxi(Cyathulae Radix),Gancao(Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma),Huangbo(Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex),Mugua(Chaenomelis Fructus),Qinjiao(Gentianae Macro-phyllae Radix),Danggui(Angelicae Sinensis Radix),and Yiyiren(Coicis Semen).Conclusion Clearing heat and dampness,relieving collaterals and pain,and invigorating Qi and blood are the most commonly used therapies for the treatment of AS by Professor XIONG Jibo.Additionally,customized NLP model could improve the efficiency of data mining in TCM.

Analysis of the law of traditional Chinese medicine in prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal reaction caused by lung cancer chemotherapy

Objective:To explore the law of traditional Chinese medicine in prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal reaction after chemotherapy for lung cancer.Methods:The literatures on prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal reaction after chemotherapy with Chinese medicine were searched from CNKI,Wanfang and VIP databases from the establishment of the database to September 2020.After screening,the database was established,and data mining was conducted by using IBM SPSS statistics 20.0 and IBM SPSS modeler 18.0 to summarize the medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine in the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal reaction after chemotherapy for lung cancer.Results:(1)A total of 131 literatures involving 245 traditional Chinese medicines were included for data mining;(2)High frequency drugs include Astragalus membranaceus,liquorice,Poria cocos,Atractylodes macrocephala,Pinellia ternata,Codonopsis pilosula,Ophiopogon japonicus,coix seed,Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae,Radix Glehniae and so on;(3)The traditional Chinese medicine used is mainly tonifying deficiency medicine,resolving phlegm and relieving cough and asthma medicine,diuresis and dampness medicine,heat clearing medicine and antiphlogistic medicine.The medicine tastes bitter and sweet,and has cold and warm properties.The meridian tropism involves liver,lung,stomach,spleen and kidney;(4)Seven core TCM combinations were obtained by cluster analysis,and 24 drug pairs(groups)were obtained by association rule analysis.Conclusion:Through the data mining of traditional Chinese medicine for the prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal reaction after chemotherapy for lung cancer,we can find out the potential rules of traditional Chinese medicine prescription,and clarify the core Chinese medicine,which is helpful to provide certain reference for the development and research of drugs for the treatment of gastrointestinal reaction and modern clinical practice.

Identification of core compositions of traditional Chinese medicine for Seborrheic Dermatitis using data mining techniques

Objective:To explore the clinical medication rule of seborrheic dermatitis in modern Chinese medicine by data mining,in order to benefit the clinical treatment of seborrheic dermatitis in traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:From January 1,2010 to September 4,2019,articles on Chinese medicine for seborrheic dermatitis were searched systematically in CNKI,VIP and Wan Fang databases.Prescription databases were established through the Chinese Medicine Inheritance assistant system to mine and analyze the rules of data.Results:69 researches were screened out,72 prescriptions for seborrheic dermatitis.13 drugs were used more than or equal to 15 times,and 9 pairs of commonly used drugs with correlation coefficient above 0.045 were selected.Six core combinations and two new prescriptions were obtained.Conclusion:Data mining method was used to analyze the high-frequency drugs and drug pairs,which reflected the treatment principle of clearing heat and removing dampness,nourishing blood and moistening dryness,promoting qi and strengthening spleen in the clinical treatment of seborrheic dermatitis,and provided more intuitive research evidence for the follow-up clinical treatment.

Compatibility mechanism of Chinese medicine formula:state of the art and perspectives

Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)has been practiced in China and surrounding countries for thousands of years and has gradually attracted the attention of Western countries.After reasonable compatibility,TCMs could play the key role of enhancing efficacy and reducing toxicity,which has significant therapeutic advantages in the treatment of complex diseases in clinical practice.While the TCM compatibility is not the simple addition of drugs.Under the appropriate dosage ratio,multiple TCMs can play a synergistic role to realize the overall regulation of TCM treatment.Therefore,it is of critical essential to study the compatibility of TCM formula to promote TCM modernization,new drug development and clinical application.Recently,under the guidance of TCM theory,many researches on the composition,pharmacodynamic activity and pharmacokinetic properties of TCM formula have emerged by integrating new technologies and new methods,revealing the scientific connotation of the compatibility of TCM formula from different perspectives and levels.This paper introduces the research progress of compatibility rules from different levels of compatibility,compatibility for synergistic enhancement and detoxification,and application of cutting-edge technology,with representative cases,in order to provide ideas and references for further study on TCM compatibility.

Background:To summarize the rules of the use of traditional Chinese medicine against influenza virus in the high-quality literatures of core journals,and to provide guidance for the prevention and treatment of influenza.Methods:Excel 2010 and ancient and modern medical case cloud platform(2.5V)were used to summarize the categories,nature,flavour and channel tropism of drugs.The cluster analysis of high-frequency drugs was carried out by SPSS 22.0,and the association rules of high-frequency drugs were analyzed by Apriori algorithm provided by SPSS modeler 18.0.Results:One thousand one hundred and thirty-one articles from core journals were retrieved and 135 articles were screened out,including 109 prescriptions and 170 drugs,with a total frequency of 1,655 times.The 3 most frequently appeared herbs were Gancao(Glycyrrhizae radix et rhizoma),Jinyinhua(Lonicerae japonicae flos)and Lianqiao(Forsythiae fructus).The top 3 efficacy were“Heat-Clearing(remove heat from the body surface and inside)”drugs,drugs for“Relieving Exterior Disorder(treat fever,chills and headaches caused by pathogenic substances in the air)”,and“Phlegm Relieving Cough Antiasthmatic Medicine(relieves respiratory cough and sputum symptoms)”drugs.The top 3 nature of drugs were cold,warm and flat.The top 3 flavour of drugs were bitter,spicy and sweet.The top 5 channel tropism of drugs were“Lung”,“Stomach”,“Heart”,“Spleen”,“Liver”.Association rule yields 20 drug pairs,Jingjie(Schizonepetae herba),Forsythiae fructus,Lonicerae japonicae flos,Niubangzi(Arctii fructus),Mahuang(Ephedrae herba)and Glycyrrhizae radix et rhizoma were commonly used concerted application;four new methods were obtained by cluster analysis.Conclusion:The use of traditional Chinese medicine against influenza virus has a certain regularity,which provides an important reference value for the prevention and treatment of influenza.

Study on the rules of TCM syndromes and Chinese herbal medicines about IgAN based on data mining

Objective:To analyze the clinical research literatures of TCM syndromes and treatment of Immunoglobulin A Nephropathy(IgAN)on data-mining technology,and explore the rules of TCM syndromes and Chinese medication.Methods:By searching the clinical literatures about TCM syndromes and treatment of IgAN had published in China Biomedical Literature Database,CNKI Database,Wanfang Database,and Chongqing Weipu Database from January 2000 to September 2019.Strictly according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,included documents and established the databases.Applicated of statistical software for frequency analysis of TCM syndromes,Chinese herbal medicines,and analyzed the commonly used Chinese herbal medicines by factor analysis and cluster analysis.Results:292 literatures were finally included,involving 28 syndromes.A total of 479 prescriptions and 254 Chinese herbs were used.The rules of syndromes in IgA nephropathy are as follows:the syndromes are mainly composed of Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome,followed by the Spleen and kidney qi deficiency syndrome,Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome,Spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome.The blood-stasis syndrome,damp-heat syndrome and wind-heat disturbance syndrome are accompanied by other syndrome.The characteristics of traditional Chinese medicines for IgA nephropathy is mainly composed of tonic deficiency medicines,supplemented by blood-activating and stasis-eliminating medicines,heat-clearing medicines,inducing diuresis and excreting dampness medicines and astringent medicines to combine with formulas.Conclusion:Through Data-mining method systematically summarized the rules of TCM syndromes and Chinese medication in treating IgAN and provided scientific theoretical guidance for the treatment of IgAN.

Examining patterns of traditional chinese medicine use in pediatric oncology: A systematic review, meta-analysis and data-mining study

Background Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is becoming a popular complementary approach in pediatric oncology.However,few or no meta-analyses have focused on clinical studies of the use of TCM in pediatric oncology.Objective We explored the patterns of TCM use and its efficacy in children with cancer,using a systematic review,meta-analysis and data mining study.Search strategy We conducted a search of five English(Allied and Complementary Medicine Database,Embase,PubMed,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,and ClinicalTrials.gov)and four Chinese databases(Wanfang Data,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,and VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodicals Database)for clinical studies published before October 2021,using keywords related to“pediatric,”“cancer,”and“TCM.”Inclusion criteria We included studies which were randomized controlled trials(RCTs)or observational clinical studies,focused on patients aged<19 years old who had been diagnosed with cancer,and included at least one group of subjects receiving TCM treatment.Data extraction and analysis The methodological quality of RCTs and observational studies was assessed using the six-item Jadad scale and the Effective Public Healthcare Panacea Project Quality Assessment Tool,respectively.Meta-analysis was used to evaluate the efficacy of combining TCM with chemotherapy.Study outcomes included the treatment response rate and occurrence of cancer-related symptoms.Association rule mining(ARM)was used to investigate the associations among medicinal herbs and patient symptoms.Results The fifty-four studies included in this analysis were comprised of RCTs(63.0%)and observational studies(37.0%).Most RCTs focused on hematological malignancies(41.2%).The study outcomes included chemotherapy-induced toxicities(76.5%),infection rate(35.3%),and response,survival or relapse rate(23.5%).The methodological quality of most of the RCTs(82.4%)and observational studies(80.0%)was rated as“moderate.”In studies of leukemia patients,adding TCM to conventional treatment significantly improved the clinical response rate(odds ratio[OR]=2.55;95%confidence interval[CI]=1.49-4.36),lowered infection rate(OR=0.23;95%CI=0.13-0.40),and reduced nausea and vomiting(OR=0.13;95%CI=0.08-0.23).ARM showed that Radix Astragali,the most commonly used medicinal herb(58.0%),was associated with treating myelosuppression,gastrointestinal complications,and infection.Conclusion There is growing evidence that TCM is an effective adjuvant therapy for children with cancer.We proposed a checklist to improve the quality of TCM trials in pediatric oncology.Future work will examine the use of ARM techniques on real-world data to evaluate the efficacy of medicinal herbs and drug-herb interactions in children receiving TCM as a part of integrated cancer therapy.

Analysis of novel coronavirus pneumonia treatment with Chinese herbal compound

Objective: To analyze the prescription law of TCM compound in the treatment of new coronavirus pneumonia, and provides reference for the clinical treatment of new coronavirus pneumonia. Methods: Collected Collected 24 novel coronavirus pneumonia related diagnostic and therapeutic plans issued by the National Health Council and the Chinese medicine authority from January 26, 2020 to March 8th ,the filtered solution involved in the formula, establishing database of traditional Chinese medicine compound prescription for the treatment of new crown pneumonia, the frequency of using frequency analysis methods of analysis and clustering analysis and association rules analysis to sort out data mining analysis of traditional Chinese medicine compound. Results: In this study, a total of 159 TCM compounds were included in the treatment of new crown pneumonia from the country and 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, involving 189 TCM compounds. A total of 62 high-frequency traditional Chinese medicines (frequency ≥ 11) were obtained, mainly including licorice, almond, ephedra, gypsum, Poria cocos, Huoxiang, etc The drug types are mainly heat-clearing drugs, vacuous drugs, moisture-curing drugs, and surfactant drugs. The main effect of the medicine was warm, cold, lukewarm and flat, the main effect of the medicine was bitter and bitter, and the main effect of the medicine was the lung, stomach and spleen. Cluster analysis results according to the performance of traditional Chinese medicine treatment of new crown pneumonia high frequency drugs into 7 classes;Association rule analysis results in 29 common drug pairs. Conclusion: In the treatment of pneumonia caused by new coronavirus infection with traditional Chinese medicine, the following characteristics are presented: the number of times of supplementing qi and Yin is more than that of attacking evil and maintaining health;The method of dispersing and solving the attack of wet, beneficial, wet, permeable and wet medicine fully embodies a variety of ways to drive away evil;In terms of drugs, heat-clearing drugs, deficiency drugs, dampness drugs and surface drugs are the main ones, highlighting that the basic treatment method is to dissolve dampness and detoxify, and replenish qi and Yin. In summary, this study can provide reference for guiding clinical drug use and developing new drugs.

Herbal medicine prescribing patterns from contemporary famous old TCM doctors for treating coronary heart disease: an analysis based on data mining

To analyze the herbal medicine prescribing patterns of contemporary famous old traditional Chinese medicine doctors in treating coronary heart disease,based on data mining technology,so as to provide useful insights into the clinical practice.Methods:Databases,including Medline(January 1966 to December 2019),Wanfang(January 1982 to December 2019),VIP Database(January 1989 to December 2019),CNKI(January 1979 to December 2019),CBMdisc(January 1978 to December 2019),and Classic Case Collection from Contemporary Famous Old Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors were searched,and 224 eligible studies involving 416 patients were entered into the case study database after data processing.Frequency analysis and association rule analysis were used to investigate the prescribing patterns of contemporary famous old traditional Chinese medicine doctors in treating coronary heart disease.Results:In total 290 kinds of Chinese herbal drugs and 19 core drugs were used in the cases studied.The most commonly used categories were“Qi-Tonifying Drugs”,“Blood-Activating Drugs”,and“Phlegm-Eliminating Drugs”.The association rule analysis identified 14 commonly used herbal pairs,19 three-drug combinations,and 1 four-drug combination.Conclusion:Contemporary famous old traditional Chinese medicine doctors considered warming heart yang as an extremely important approach to treat coronary heart disease based on Zhang Zhongjing’s treatment for chest painful obstruction caused by“Inactivity of Chest Yang”(blockade of phlegm turbidity).Both symptoms and root causes were addressed in the formulas prescribed by these doctors.“Tonifying Qi,Nourishing Yin,Activating Blood,and Eliminating Phlegm”were the most commonly used therapeutic methods for patients with coronary heart disease.
