This study is an attempt to establish a suitable speed–density functional relationship for heterogeneous traffic on urban arterials. The model must reproduce the traffic behaviour on traffic stream and satisfy all static and dynamic properties of speed–flow–density relationships. As a first attempt for Indian traffic condition, two behavioural parameters, namely the kinematic wave speed at jam(Cj) and a proposed saturation flow(k), are estimated using empirical observations. The parameter Cjis estimated by developing a relationship between driver reaction time and vehicle position in the queue at the signalised intersection. Functional parameters are estimated using Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm implemented in the R statistical software.Numerical measures such as root mean squared error, average relative error and cumulative residual plots are used for assessing models fitness. We set out several static and dynamic properties of the flow–speed–density relationships to evaluate the models, and these properties equally hold good for both homogenous and heterogeneous traffic states.From the numerical analysis, it is found that very few models replicate empirical speed–density data traffic behaviour.However, none of the existing functional forms satisfy all the properties. To overcome the shortcomings, we proposed two new speed–density functional forms. The uniqueness of these models is that they satisfy both numerical accuracy and the properties of fundamental diagram. These new forms would certainly improve the modelling accuracy, especially in dynamic traffic studies when coupling with dynamic speed equations. 展开更多

Cellular Automaton (CA) based traffic flow models have been extensively studied due to their effectiveness and simplicity in recent years. This paper develops a discrete time Markov chain (DTMC) analytical framework for a Nagel-Schreckenberg and Fukui Ishibashi combined CA model (W^2H traffic flow model) from microscopic point of view to capture the macroscopic steady state speed distributions. The inter-vehicle spacing Maxkov chain and the steady state speed Markov chain are proved to be irreducible and ergodic. The theoretical speed probability distributions depending on the traffic density and stochastic delay probability are in good accordance with numerical simulations. The derived fundamental diagram of the average speed from theoretical speed distributions is equivalent to the results in the previous work. 展开更多

The driver’s visibility is degraded when weather conditions deteriorate, which affects the traffic flow and induces traffic congestion or accidents. In particular, traffic accidents can be?led to chain reaction collisions, with high rate of fatality, when fog occurs in contrast to other weather factors that may restrict visibility. For the development of a traffic risk index, a deviation of the vehicle’s speed was set for the traffic risk index by referring to previous study results. In addition, factors that affected the deviation in a vehicle’s speed were selected as independent variables based on the traffic flow analysis during occurrences of fog. The visible distance, traffic volume, and speed were selected as the independent variables to estimate the optimal parameters in the regression model. The traffic risk index model during occurrences of fog proposed in this study is an exponential model, with the visible distance and the traffic volume defined as independent variables. According to the study model, traffic risk increased as the visible distance decreased and the traffic volume was lower. Thus, the visible distance that can affect traffic flow during occurrences of fog can be determined in the future based on the results of this study. The study results will be expected to contribute to not only traffic safety improvements, but also the facilitation of traffic flow as drivers and traffic operation managers intuitively recognize the level of risk. 展开更多

The model took into consideration the road conditions, pedestrian crossing, traffic composi- tion, bus stops and traffic signal. The operating characteristics of buses and cars under different flow conditions were studied using the simulation model, and the speed-flow models of buses and cars were established based on the simulation results. Finally, the threshold values of traffic flow for the provision of exclusive bus lanes was determined with the target of optimal travel benefits (per capi- ta) , which would provide a basis for the planning and design of exclusive bus lanes on urban roads. 展开更多

为了缓解低速车辆对隧道行车安全的影响,探讨城市隧道内部允许变车道分界线的设置方法,采用VISSIM仿真软件,分析城市隧道内部车道分界线设置为允许变道和禁止变道两种状态下低速行驶车辆对隧道交通流的影响。结果表明:城市隧道内低速行... 为了缓解低速车辆对隧道行车安全的影响,探讨城市隧道内部允许变车道分界线的设置方法,采用VISSIM仿真软件,分析城市隧道内部车道分界线设置为允许变道和禁止变道两种状态下低速行驶车辆对隧道交通流的影响。结果表明:城市隧道内低速行驶车辆对本车道的交通流平均速度影响最大,车道分界线设置为允许变道时可以明显缓解低速行驶车辆对交通流平均速度的影响。低速车辆的存在显著增加了本车道的平均延误时间,且车辆时速越低、道路交通量越大,平均延误时间越长;禁止变道状态下,低速车辆的存在造成本车道后方车辆的排队积压,导致交通密度显著增大,设置允许变道能够缓解低速车辆对交通流的影响。研究成果可为城市隧道的运营管理提供科学依据。 展开更多

当城市群中某些节点运输能力下降时,其相较于其他节点会对整体网络产生更大的影响,则认为该类节点为重要节点,通过对城市群中重要节点进行识别,加强重要城市保护,对于保证城市群正常运作,维持城市群内部正常流动,促进城市群高质量发展... 当城市群中某些节点运输能力下降时,其相较于其他节点会对整体网络产生更大的影响,则认为该类节点为重要节点,通过对城市群中重要节点进行识别,加强重要城市保护,对于保证城市群正常运作,维持城市群内部正常流动,促进城市群高质量发展有着重要意义。笔者基于高速铁路流与高速公路流双视角构建城市群网络模型,通过借鉴引力模型,从城市关联性、聚类性、中介性构建城市群网络重要节点评价模型,并以成渝地区双城经济圈为例进行实证分析。研究结果表明:在高速铁路网络模型中,各个节点城市整体重要性结果呈非线性下降;在高速公路网络模型中,整体重要性结果呈线性下降,下降较为均匀。 展开更多

为更深刻地理解船舶交通流运行特性,以速度离散度研究为切入点,提出描述船舶交通流速度离散特性的两种指标,根据交通流基本图理论,对速度离散度在船舶交通流基本图上的分布及其与船舶交通流三参数之间的关系进行定量分析。结果表明:随... 为更深刻地理解船舶交通流运行特性,以速度离散度研究为切入点,提出描述船舶交通流速度离散特性的两种指标,根据交通流基本图理论,对速度离散度在船舶交通流基本图上的分布及其与船舶交通流三参数之间的关系进行定量分析。结果表明:随着船舶流量、密度和速度的增加,速度离散度的分布趋于稳定,在低流量、高速度离散度区间内,速度离散度随着船舶流量的增加逐渐降低,在低速度离散度区间内,速度离散度随着船舶流量增加逐渐升高;基于改进的K-means-FCM算法,使用船舶交通流流量、密度、速度和速度离散度作为分类指标,对船舶交通流进行聚类分析,得到4个聚类中心与指标值的分布范围。基于试验结果,抽象总结船舶交通流运行状态图,将船舶交通流划分自由态、同质态、稳定态和异质态等4种状态。该研究对更好地认识船舶交通流特性起到一定的作用。 展开更多

从通行能力和交通流稳定性两个层面对雾天高速公路限速值进行研究。选取经驾驶模拟器数据标定的雾天跟驰模型来描述车辆跟驰行为,并计算雾天高速公路通行能力和交通流稳定性。分别提出优先考虑通行能力和优先考虑交通流稳定性的雾天高... 从通行能力和交通流稳定性两个层面对雾天高速公路限速值进行研究。选取经驾驶模拟器数据标定的雾天跟驰模型来描述车辆跟驰行为,并计算雾天高速公路通行能力和交通流稳定性。分别提出优先考虑通行能力和优先考虑交通流稳定性的雾天高速公路限速方案。研究结果表明:轻雾场景和浓雾场景分别在限速100 km/h和80 km/h时的通行能力最大,均在限速40 km/h时的通行能力最小;轻雾场景和浓雾场景均在限速40 km/h时的交通流稳定性最优,分别在限速60 km/h和100 km/h时的交通流稳定性最差;采用优先考虑通行能力的限速方案时,雾天高速公路通行能力最大,较最小通行能力可提升28.68%~44.66%,稳定性则较最优值下降18.81%~82.92%;采用优先考虑交通流稳定性的限速方案时,交通流稳定性最优,较最差值可增加1.97倍~106.33倍,通行能力则较最大值减小22.29%~30.87%。 展开更多

智能交通系统(ITS)既能更容易地获取周围交通的状态信息又能更好地控制车辆的运动。为了描述和预测ITS环境下车辆在交通流中的行为,保证车辆安全,增加交通流的稳定性,文章考虑在ITS环境下加入车头间距记忆和后向观测这2个因素,建立了一... 智能交通系统(ITS)既能更容易地获取周围交通的状态信息又能更好地控制车辆的运动。为了描述和预测ITS环境下车辆在交通流中的行为,保证车辆安全,增加交通流的稳定性,文章考虑在ITS环境下加入车头间距记忆和后向观测这2个因素,建立了一种基于前后车辆双速度差的新型车辆队列跟随模型(HMBE)。通过对HMBE模型进行线性稳定性分析,得到了HMBE模型的线性稳定性条件,验证了车头间距记忆和后向观测这2个因素可以增强交通流的稳定性,提高了车辆安全和通行效率。通过数值模拟分析当交通流出现小扰动时,其对交通流的影响,发现随着时间的增加,小扰动几乎消失,验证了HMBE模型相对于一般的双速度差模型对提高交通流稳定性具有更明显的作用。 展开更多

The KdV-Burgers equation in a modified speed gradient continuum model

Based on the full velocity difference model, Jiang et al. put forward the speed gradient model through the micromacro linkage (Jiang R, Wu Q S and Zhu Z J 2001 Chin. Sci. Bull 46 345 and Jiang R, Wu Q S and Zhu Z J 2002 Trans. Res. B 36 405). In this paper, the Taylor expansion is adopted to modify the model. The backward travel problem is overcome by our model, which exists in many higher-order continuum models. The neutral stability condition of the model is obtained through the linear stability analysis. Nonlinear analysis shows clearly that the density fluctuation in traffic flow leads to a variety of density waves. Moreover, the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdV-Burgers) equation is derived to describe the traffic flow near the neutral stability line and the corresponding solution for traffic density wave is derived. The numerical simulation is carried out to investigate the local cluster effects. The results are consistent with the realistic traffic flow and also further verify the results of nonlinear analysis. 展开更多

Based on the least square method, we find two critical values of k that are 38.63% and 68.26%. When k 38.63%, the self-driving cars have a negative influence to the traffic. 目前国内外关于道路扬尘排放的计算多采用美国环境保护局推荐的AP-42排放因子法,直接计算道路扬尘的年均排放总量,但其动态化程度不足,难以满足日益增长的精细化管理需求.本研究采用车速-流量模型构建高时间分辨率的道路车流量获取方法... 目前国内外关于道路扬尘排放的计算多采用美国环境保护局推荐的AP-42排放因子法,直接计算道路扬尘的年均排放总量,但其动态化程度不足,难以满足日益增长的精细化管理需求.本研究采用车速-流量模型构建高时间分辨率的道路车流量获取方法.以天津市为例,采用自下而上的方法,结合本地化的排放因子以及天津市采取的道路扬尘控制措施,借助GIS平台编制高时空分辨率的道路扬尘排放清单,精细反映天津市道路扬尘排放的时空分布特征.结果表明:(1)时间尺度上,受早晚高峰的影响,城市道路在08:00—09:00与18:00—19:00扬尘排放强度较大,13:00—14:00是白天扬尘排放强度的低值时段.(2)空间尺度上,夜间(03:00—04:00)道路扬尘排放强度的高值区域集中在高速路段,白天扬尘排放强度的低值时段(13:00—14:00)集中在城市道路中支路密集的地区,道路扬尘排放强度高峰时期(18:00—19:00)集中在各类型的城市道路.全年道路扬尘排放高值区域集中在城市支路和郊区道路.(3)天津市内六区全年道路扬尘PM_(2.5)、PM_(10)、TSP排放量分别为603、2492和12986 t,相较以往研究有所下降.从区域看,道路扬尘排放总量呈偏远郊区>环城四区>市内六区的规律.城市道路采取的洒水措施明显降低了道路扬尘排放总量.研究显示,受交通扰动影响,道路扬尘排放呈现明显的时空分布差异. 展开更多

为降低雨天环境下高速公路事故发生率,提升高速公路在恶劣环境下的交通安全管理水平,首先,利用元胞自动机(CA)中的NaSch模型,构建交通仿真环境,研究雨天环境下高速公路限速策略;其次,通过分析雨天环境下的交通流影响因素,构建考虑雨天... 为降低雨天环境下高速公路事故发生率,提升高速公路在恶劣环境下的交通安全管理水平,首先,利用元胞自动机(CA)中的NaSch模型,构建交通仿真环境,研究雨天环境下高速公路限速策略;其次,通过分析雨天环境下的交通流影响因素,构建考虑雨天环境下驾驶人心理特性的NaSch模型,进而建立雨天环境下的道路交通流模型;最后,在4种不同降雨强度下,选取平均密度、平均车间距、累积排队长度等作为道路交通运行水平评价指标,通过模拟仿真试验研究不同降雨强度下道路交通运行水平的变化趋势,进而确定不同降雨强度下的限速策略。结果表明:降雨强度越高,道路的适应性下降速度越快,交通运行状况的恶化速度越快;随着降雨强度降低,道路对高限速的适应性显著好转,而对低限速的适应性一直处于较低的状态;在高降雨强度水平下,根据限速值可以将道路情况分为适宜限速区、低限速区,而在中、低降雨强度水平下,可以将道路情况分为高限速区、适宜限速区、低限速区。 展开更多

The functional relationships between flow (veh/km), density (veh/h) and speed (kin/h) in traffic congestion have a long history of research. However, their findings and techniques persist to be relevant to this day. The analysis is pertinent, particularly in finding the best fit for the three major highways in Malaysia, namely the KL-Karak Highway, KL-Seremban Highway and KL-Ipoh Highway. The trans-logarithm function of density-speed model was compared to the classical models of Greenshields, Greenberg, Underwood and Drake et al. using data provided by the Transport Statistics Malaysia 2014. The results of regression analysis revealed that the Greenshields and Greenberg models were statistically significant. The trans-logarithm function was also tested and the results were nonetheless without exception. Its usefulness in addition to statistical significance related to the derived economic concepts of maximum speed and the related number of vehicles, flow and density and the limits of free speed were relevant in comparing the individual levels of traffic congestion between highways. For instance, KL-Karak Highway was least congested compared to KL-Seremban Highway and KL-Ipoh Highway. Their maximum speeds, based on three lanes carriage capacity of one direction, were 33.4 km/h for KL-Karak, 15.9 km/h for KL-Seremban, and 21.1 km/h for KL-Ipoh.
