A good quality Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is key for the effectiveness of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes and consequently to the acceptability of projects subject to EIA. The international literature has contributed to the understanding of the essential aspects to be verified regarding the quality of EIS, offering a wide spectrum of good practice examples related to the content of the studies. Even so, there is a need for empirical studies that allow the identification of specific aspects related to the context of application of the EIS, which could lead to the identification of opportunities to improve both the quality of the reports and also the effectiveness of EIA. Therefore, the present paper is focused on the quality review of a number of EIS submitted to the Brazilian Federal Environmental Agency (Ibama) to instruct the assessment of electric power transmission systems. Based on the application of the EIS quality review package as proposed by Lee and Colley (1992), the outcomes reveal opportunities for improving the scope of EIA, analysis of alternatives, prediction of magnitude and the assessment of impact significance. Finally, the development and/or adaptation of a similar tool for the systematic review of the quality of EIA reports is recommended. 展开更多

It’s a mature technol... Electric vehicles use electric motors, which turn electrical energy into mechanical energy. As electric motors are conventionally used in all the industry, it is an established development site. It’s a mature technology with ideal power and torque curves for vehicular operation. Conventional vehicles use oil and gas as fuel or energy storage. Although they also have an excellent economic impact, the continuous use of oil and gas threatened the world’s reservation of total oil and gas. Also, they emit carbon dioxide and some toxic ingredients through the vehicle’s tailpipe, which causes the greenhouse effect and seriously impacts the environment. So, as an alternative, electric car refers to a green technology of decarbonization with zero emission of greenhouse gases through the tailpipe. So, they can remove the problem of greenhouse gas emissions and solve the world’s remaining non-renewable energy storage problem. Pure electric vehicles (PEV) can be applied in all spheres, but their special implementation can only be seen in downhole operations. They are used for low noise and less pollution in the downhole process. In this study, the basic structure of the pure electric command vehicle is studied, the main components of the command vehicle power system, namely the selection of the drive motor and the power battery, are analyzed, and the main parameters of the drive motor and the power battery are designed and calculated. The checking calculation results show that the power and transmission system developed in this paper meets the design requirements, and the design scheme is feasible and reasonable. 展开更多

Wind power is a kind of important green energy.Thus,wind turbines have been widely utilized around the world.Wind turbines are composed of many important components.Among these components,the failure rate of the transmission system is relatively high in wind turbines.It is because the components are subjected to aerodynamic loads for a long time.In addition,its inertial load will result in fatigue fracture,wear and other problems.In this situation,wind turbines have to be repaired at a higher cost.Moreover,the traditional reliability methods are difficult to deal with the above challenges when performing the reliability analysis of the transmission system of wind turbines.To solve this problem,a stress-strength interference model based on performance degradation is introduced.Based on considering the strength degradation of each component,the improved Monte Carlomethod simulation based on the Back Propagation neural network is used to obtain the curve of system reliability over time.Finally,the Miner linear cumulative damage theory and the Carten-Dolan cumulative damage theory method are used to calculate the cumulative damage and fatigue life of the gear transmission system. 展开更多

This paper discusses the optimization and design of the new-energy vehicle transmission systems.Traditional automatic transmission systems suffer from fuel consumption and emissions issues,as well as limitations in the efficiency of mechanical transmission systems.In order to solve these problems,different types of transmission systems are used in new-energy vehicles,including battery electric vehicles(BEV),hybrid electric vehicles(HEV),and fuel cell electric vehicles(FCEV).The key factors for optimizing the transmission systems of new-energy vehicles include battery technology and energy management system,electric motor and electronic control system,energy recovery and reuse technology,and lightweight and aerodynamic design of the vehicle.This paper also introduces methods and tools for designing new-energy vehicle transmission systems,including simulation tools,optimization algorithms and data analysis,as well as experimental verification and testing methods.Besides,new-energy vehicle transmission system designs are proposed,and future challenges and development directions are discussed through case studies. 展开更多

The traditional communication system is effectively designed for the worst-case channel state and it can not use the spectral efficiently over the time-varying multipath channel. In order to improve the spectral efficiency and ensure robust and spectrally-efficient transmission over the time-varying multipath channel,a joint rate control and adaptive modulation and coding ( AMC) algorithm for adaptive transmission systems is proposed in this paper. Firstly,the proposed algorithm can formulate a modulation and coding scheme ( MCS) switching table according to the offline simulation results and the target bit error rate ( BER) . Then,the optimal MCS is selected in MCS switching table according to the channel state information ( CSI) and then passes to the transmitter and receiver to implement. So the adaptive system which always uses the optimal MCS to transmit signals uses the spectral efficiently. The simulation results validate the proposed algorithm and show that under the premise of meeting the target BER,the adaptive system performing the proposed algorithm has a higher average spectral efficiency ( ASE) than that of the non-adaptive system. 展开更多

Offshore wind energy is an important part of clean energy,and the adoption of wind energy to generate electricity will contribute to the implementation of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.The combination of the fractional frequency transmission system(FFTS) and the direct-drive wind turbine generator will be beneficial to the development of the offshore wind power industry.The use of fractional frequency in FFTS is beneficial to the transmission of electrical energy,but it will also lead to an increase in the volume and weight of the generator,which is unfavorable for wind power generation.Improving the torque density of the generator can effectively reduce the volume of the generators.The vernier permanent magnet machine(VPM) operates on the magnetic flux modulation principle and has the merits of high torque density.In the field of electric machines,the vernier machine based on the principle of magnetic flux modulation has been proved its feasibility to reduce the volume and weight.However,in the field of low-speed direct-drive machines for high-power fractional frequency power generation,there are still few related researches.Therefore,this paper studies the application of magnetic flux modulation in fractional frequency and high-power direct-drive wind turbine generators,mainly analyzes the influence of different pole ratios and different pole pairs on the generator,and draws some conclusions to provide reference for the design of wind turbine generators. 展开更多

The kinetic precision of transmission chain is a key problem in the research of gear cutting machine transmission system.The traditional point of view is to consider the transmission chain as a geometrical meshing system,thus it is deemed that the kinetic precision of the transmission chain only depends on the manufacturing and assembly errors of its transmission parts.But further research reveals that the kinetic precision of transmission system is closely related with the system dynamic effects.Therefore,from the dynamic point of view,it is discerned that not only deems the transmission chain as a geometrical meshing system but also considers it as a dynamic system performing with torsional vibration.On the basis of analyses and processes of measuring data of samples from tests of cutting machine’s kinetic precision of transmission chain,the results represent that the influences of dynamic characteristics of the transmission system on its kinetic precision is non negligible.Experimental methods for discerning the transfer function of torsional vibration of gear transmission system and experimental results have been given. 展开更多

In order to test the bending-torsional coupled vibration characteristics of the multi-shafts gear transmission system of large power vehicles,a torsional vibration exciter was used to apply torsional excitation on the gear transmission systems and thirty-two acceleration sensors were used to measure the tangential acceleration of each shaft.Torsional vibration signals and bending vibration signals of each measuring point were obtained by calculation of the four-point-response signal.The modal parameters of gear transmission systems including nature frequency,modal shape and modal damping ratio were obtained by identifying modal parameters of the torsional vibration signal and bending vibration signal.The characteristic of the bending vibration and torsional vibration of the gear systems were studied through the analysis of the nature frequency and modal shape.The nonlinearity characteristic of the gear transmission system was investigated through single frequency excitation test,which can be the foundation for further nonlinearity research. 展开更多

Optimal Design of Wireless Power Transmission Systems Using Antenna Arrays

Three design methods for wireless power transmission(WPT)systems using antenna arrays have been investigated.The three methods,corresponding to three common application scenarios of WPT systems,are based on the method of maximum power transmission efficiency(MMPTE)between two antenna arrays.They are unconstrained MMPTE,weighted MMPTE,and constrained MMPTE.To demonstrate the optimal design process with the three methods,a WPT system operating at 2.45 GHz is designed,simulated,and fabricated,in which the transmitting(Tx)array,consisting of 36 microstrip patch elements,is configured as a square and the receiving(Rx)array,consisting of 5 patch elements,is configured as an L shape.The power transmission efficiency(PTE)is then maximized for the three application scenarios,which yields the maximum possible PTEs and the optimized distributions of excitations for both Tx and Rx arrays.The feeding networks are then built based on the optimized distributions of excitations.Simulations and experiments reveal that the unconstrained MMPTE,which corresponds to the application scenario where no radiation pattern shaping is involved,yields the highest PTE.The next highest PTE belongs to the weighted MMPTE,where the power levels at all the receiving elements are imposed to be equal.The constrained MMPTE has the lowest PTE,corresponding to the scenario in which the radiated power pattern is assumed to be flat along with the Rx array. 展开更多

The parameters of each module in the simulation model are set. The working process and performance of the time-division multiplexing digital optimal band transmission system are simulated. The simulation results show that the digital optimal band transmission system achieves the best transmission receiving conditions and performance, and the designed time-division multiplexing optimal digital band transmission simulation system achieves its functions. The research in this paper will help to improve the level of digital communication technology and to understand the structure of time-division multiplexing digital optimal band transmission system. 展开更多

Power systems are critical infrastructures in the same way as gas and oil networks, water networks, transportation networks, telecommunications systems and computer systems. These complex networked systems are increasingly interdependent on each other, as the digital society matures on a global scale. A typical example of a critical infrastructure vulnerability that undergoes rising vulnerability to catastrophic failure is the power transmission network. There are several reasons for such a situation to prevail. Firstly, as witnessed in developed countries, there has been a very slow expansion of the high voltage transmission grid during recent decades due to stringent regulations put forward in response to environmental concerns. Secondly, there are the profound structural reforms that the power industry has embarked on, which are geared toward the emergence and consolidation of competitive energy markets. In the evaluation of catastrophe of the power transmission system, the most important parameter to be taken into a consideration is resilience index of electro-magnet floury. Under non-forcible synchronization condition zero-phase synchronization of the machine is non-stationary and it-phase synchronization is stable. Under half-forcible synchronization condition in which only one motor is controlled being synchronous to another, only lag synchronization near zero-phase synchronization can be realized. Both of the characteristics have never been revealed with classical theory quantitatively. The problem is solved by means of establishing an electromechanical coupling mathematical model of the system and numerical analysis of the starting processes. 展开更多

To improve the performance of MIMO-OFDM video transmission systems on the limitation of wireless bandwidth and transmitting power,we propose an adaptive joint resource allocation algorithm with unequal error protection(UEP) based on joint source-channel coding(JSCC) according to H.264 video compression standard and RCPT channel coding.According to different thresholds of the average SNR of subchannels,the algorithm dynamically allocates the source coding parameters of original video data and the channel coding parameters of RCPT,which realizes UEP for the compressed video data of different importance.Through the bit and power allocation based on MQAM modulation and the subspace allocation based on beamforming technology for different subcarriers,an adaptive joint resource allocation making full use of space-frequency domain resources have been realized.The simulation results indicate that the algorithm improves the adaptability of video transmission systems in different wireless environments and the quality of video retrieval. 展开更多

Based on Newton ' s second law,the bend-torsion-shaft coupling nonlinear dynamic model and equations of power split gear transmission system are established.According to the principle of tooth profile modification,the tooth profile modification is considered as time-varying gear backlash function acting along the line of action.Then the dynamic functions are solved by using Runge-Kutta numerical method.After analyzing the effect of tooth profile modification quantity( TPMQ) and relative tooth profile modification length( TPML) to the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of power split gear transmission,the following conclusions are drawn:1 The TPMQ of a certain stage transmission affects the vibration of its own stage more significantly than the other stage,and the coupling effect between two stages can be ignored usually in the modification design;2 If the first stage TPMLs are less than 0.3,the influence of the first stage TPMLs to the first stage transmission vibration is much more greatly than the influence of the second stage TPMLs to the first stage transmission vibration,or else both the first and second stage TPMLs affect the first stage transmission vibration largely.The same is true for the second stage TPMLs,and the cutoff value is 0.2;3 The TPMQ affects the vibration of power split gear transmission system more principally than the TPML,and should be top-priority in the modification design. 展开更多

The demands for massive renewable energy integration, passive network power supply, and global energy interconnection have all gradually increased, posing new challenges for high voltage direct current(HVDC) power transmission systems, including more complex topology and increased diversity of bipolar HVDC transmission. This study proposes that these two factors have led to new requirements for HVDC control strategies. Moreover, due to the diverse applications of HVDC transmission technology, each station in the system has different requirements. At present, mud pulse transmission systems are widely used in downhole data transmission. But the systems are very low in transmission efficiency, only 5-10 bits/s, with very large anti-inter-symbol-interference (ISI). It cannot meet high requirements for high-speed transmission of modern logging system. The development of communication technology has laid some foundation for this requirement. For this purpose, the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) Wireless Downhole Transmission Systems are proposed for the first time because of their high transmission rate, anti-inter-symbol-interference (ISI), and high spectral efficiency, etc. Due to non-linear power amplifier (PA) of logging systems with limited dynamic range, the drawbacks of high peak-average power ratio (PAPR) may outweigh all the potential benefits of OFDM wireless downhole transmission systems. Selective mapping (SLM) method can reduce the PAPR of OFDM logging signals without distortion. But at the receiver, the conventional SLM method needs exact bits of side information (SI) to recover the data signal. The probability of erroneous SI detection has a significant influence on the error performance of the system. And individual transmissions of SI result in the reduction of bandwidth efficiency. To restore the exact data signal, our scheme codes the SI bits by linear block codes (LBC), and is easily decoded by syndrome decoding. And then the coding SI bits are superimposed onto the logging signals to omit SI bits transmission. The theory and simulation results show that the proposed method has better performance than the conventional one. Accordingly, the OFDM wireless downhole transmission systems can tackle the high PAPR problem, and highten the transmission rate of logging signals. 展开更多
