The TNT content in the gel has been varied from 60 to 90 wt %(at fixed acetone/tetramethoxysilane ratio of 50). Also, for a fixed TNT content of 75 wt %, the pore structure in the gel has been varied by changing the ratio of silica gel precursor to the solvent. The resultant TNT–silica gel composites have been characterized using scanning electron microscopy, thermal analysis, small angle X-ray scattering and surface area analysis techniques. Impact sensitivity studies were carried out using Fall Hammer Impact Test. The results showed that the sensitivity of nanostructured explosives prepared by sol-gel process can be tailored precisely by controlling the process parameters.展开更多

The supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) to treat T...The 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) is a potential carcinogens and TNT contaminated wastewater, which could not be effectively disposed with conventional treatments. The supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) to treat TNT contaminated wastewater was studied in this article, The TNT concentration in wastewater was measured by high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) and the degraded intermediates were analyzed using GC-MS. The results showed that SCWO could degrade TNT efficiently in the presence of oxygen. The reaction temperature, pressure, residence time and oxygen excess were the main contributing factors in the process. The decomposition of TNT was accelerated as the temperature or residence time increased. At 550℃, 24 MPa, 120 s and oxygen excess 300%, TNT removal rate could exceed 99.9%. Partial oxidation occured in SCWO without oxygen. It was concluded that supercritical water was a good solvent and had excellent oxidation capability in the existence of oxygen. The main intermediates of TNT during SCWO included toluene, 1,3,5-trinitrobenzene, nitrophenol, naphthalene, fluorenone, dibutyl phthalate, alkanes and several dimers based on the intermediate analysis. Some side reactions, such as coupled reaction, hydrolysis reaction and isomerization reaction may take place simultaneously when TNT was oxidized by SCWO.展开更多

The tritiated product was purified ...In this paper, (2H- methyl) toluene was prepared by catalysed halogen- tritium substitution method from benzyl bromide, then it was nitrated to produce (8H- methyl) trinitrotoluene. The tritiated product was purified by thin- layer chromatography. At last, the pure 3H- TNT was obtained with specific radioactivity of 3.77 GBq/mmol. Radiochemical purity was over 98% and the ultraviolet absorption spectrum of tritiated TNT was conformed with that of standard sample. Using 3H- TNT as a tracer, its toxicokinetics was sudied in rats. The results showed that the toxicokinetics characteristics of TNT were quickly absorbed into the blood, Vd】2L/kg.h, long T1/2β and fixed accumulation with four routes of administration, TNT and its metabolites were mainly excreted by the urine. The half- life of TNT in the urine were 1,1- 24h. A trace of radioactivity of 3H- TNT and its metabolites could be detected in the urine on 7th day after administration (9.25×106Bq/kg).展开更多
