The analytical results show that the plasma wave generation is substantially influenced by the lateral direction (width of the transistor), gate leakage current and 'viscosity. The injection from the gate (opposed to the gate leakage current) can improve the plasma oscillations and their amplitude with respect to ordinary transistors. We also estimate, which to our best knowledge has been derived for the first time, the total power emitted by the transistor and the emitted pattern which qualitatively gives reasonable agreement with the experimental data. The results show that the radiated power depends on various parameters such as drift velocity, momentum relaxation time, gate leakage current and especially the lateral direction. A negative gate current enhances the power while the gate leakage current decreases the power.展开更多

In these analyses, estimating the boundary between two regions is basic but important. If the model contains stochastic factors such as random observation errors, determining the boundary is not easy. When the probability distributions are mis-specified, ordinal methods such as probit and logit maximum likelihood estimators (MLE) have large biases. The grouping estimator is a semiparametric estimator based on the grouping of data that does not require specific probability distributions. For 2D images, the grouping is simple. Monte Carlo experiments show that the grouping estimator clearly improves the probit MLE in many cases. The grouping estimator essentially makes the resolution density lower, and the present findings imply that methods using low-resolution image analyses might not be the proper ones in high-density image analyses. It is necessary to combine and compare the results of high- and low-resolution image analyses. The grouping estimator may provide theoretical justifications for such analysis.展开更多

Researchers have presented studies in which the liquefied soil is considered as viscous fluid. In this manner, the liquefied soil behaves as non-Newtonian fluid, whose viscosity decreases as the shear strain rate increases. The current study incorporates computational fluid dynamics to propose a simplified dynamic analysis for the liquefaction-induced lateral deformation of earth slopes. The numerical procedure involves a quasi-linear elastic model for small to moderate strains and a Bingham fluid model for large strain states during liquefaction. An iterative procedure is considered to estimate the strain-compatible shear stiffness of soil. The post-liquefaction residual strength of soil is considered as the initial Bingham viscosity. Performance of the numerical procedure is examined by using the results of centrifuge model and shaking table tests together with some field observations of lateral ground deformation. The results demonstrate that the proposed procedure predicts the time history of lateral ground deformation with a reasonable degree of precision.展开更多

Two-dimensional analyses are employed in this paper by extending the one-dimensional model to take into consideration of the influence of the delamination width on the buckling performance of the laminates. The laminate is simply supported containing a through width delamination. A new parameterβ defined as the ratio of delamination length to delamination width is introduced with an emphasis on the influence of the delamination size. It is found that (i) when the ratio β is greater than one snap-through buckling prevails, the buckling load is determined by the delamination size and depth only; (ii) as the ratio β continues to increase, the buckling load will approach to a constant value. Solutions are verified with the well established results and are found in good agreement with the latter.展开更多

We performed NBI-ME for 147 patients with present or a history of squamous cell carcinoma in the head and neck, or esophagus between January 2009 and June 2011. Two expert endoscopistsdetected 89 lesions that were suspicious for SESCC lesions, which had been prospectively evaluated for the following 6 NBI-ME findings in real time: "intervascular background coloration"; "proliferation of intrapapillary capillary loops(IPCL)"; and "dilation", "tortuosity", "change in caliber", and "various shapes(VS)" of IPCLs(i.e., Inoue's tetrad criteria). The histologic examination of specimens was defined as the gold standard for diagnosis. A stepwise logistic regression analysis was used to identify candidates for the simplified criteria from among the 6 NBI-ME findings for diagnosing SESCCs. We evaluated diagnostic performance of the simplified criteria compared with that of Inoue's criteria.RESULTS Fifty-four lesions(65%) were histologically diagnosed as SESCCs and the others as low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia or inflammation. In the univariate analysis, proliferation, tortuosity, change in caliber, and VS were significantly associated with SESCC(P < 0.01). The combination of VS and proliferation was statistically extracted from the 6 NBI-ME findings by using the stepwise logistic regression model. We defined the combination of VS and proliferation as simplified dyad criteria for SESCC. The areas under the curve of the simplified dyad criteria and Inoue's tetrad criteria were 0.70 and 0.73, respectively. No significant difference was shown between them. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of diagnosis for SESCC were 77.8%, 57.1%, 69.7% and 51.9%, 80.0%, 62.9% for the simplified dyad criteria and Inoue's tetrad criteria, respectively.CONCLUSION The combination of proliferation and VS may serve as simplified criteria for the diagnosis of SESCC using NBIME.展开更多

Luzhou Laojiao, a popular liquor with strong fragrant flavor, was used as the identified liquor brand (160 samples, negative, 52 vol alcoholicity). Liquors of 10 other brands with strong fragrant flavor were used as the interferential brands (200 samples, positive, 52 vol alcoholicity). The Kennard-Stone algorithm was used for the division of modeling samples to achieve uniformity and representativeness. Based on the MW-PLS-DA, a simplified optimal model set with 157 wavebands was further proposed. This set contained five types of wavebands corresponding to the NIR absorption bands of water, ethanol, and other micronutrients (i.e., acids, aldehydes, phenols, and aromatic compounds) in liquor for practical choice. Using five selected simple models with 4775 - 4239, 7804 - 6569, 6264 - 5844, 9435 - 7896, and 12066 - 10373 cm-1, the validation recognition rates were obtained as 99.3% or higher. Results show good prediction performance and low model complexity, and also provided a valuable reference for designing small dedicated instruments. The proposed method is a promising tool for large-scale inspection of liquor food safety.展开更多

Moreover, the obtained result is formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities, which can be easily solved via standard numerical software. Finally, a numerical example is also given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
文摘We investigate plasma modes in a transistor including a negative differential conductance in the gate. A negative gate current enhances the power while the gate leakage current decreases the power.
文摘Machine learning methods, one type of methods used in artificial intelligence, are now widely used to analyze two-dimensional (2D) images in various fields. The grouping estimator may provide theoretical justifications for such analysis.

文摘Lateral deformation of liquefiable soil is a cause of much damage during earthquakes, reportedly more than other forms of liquefaction-induced ground failures. The results demonstrate that the proposed procedure predicts the time history of lateral ground deformation with a reasonable degree of precision.

文摘The utilization of prefabricated light modular radiant heating system has demonstrated significant increases in heat transfer efficiency and energy conservation capabilities.Within prefabricated building construction, this new heating method presents an opportunity for the development of comprehensive facilities. The parameters for evaluating the effectiveness of such a system are the upper surface layer’s heat flux and temperature. In this paper, thermal resistance analysis calculation based on a simplified model for this unique radiant heating system analysis is presented with the heat transfer mechanism’s evaluation. The results obtained from thermal resistance analysis calculation and numerical simulation indicate that the thermal resistance analysis method is highly accurate with temperature discrepancies ranging from 0.44℃ to−0.44℃ and a heat flux discrepancy of less than 7.54%,which can meet the requirements of practical engineering applications, suggesting a foundation for the prefabricated radiant heating system.

文摘Ground roll is an interference wave that severely degrades the signal-to-noise ratio of seismic data and affects its subsequent processing and interpretation. In this study, according to differences in morphological characteristics between ground roll and reflected waves,we use morphological component analysis based on two-dimensional dictionaries to separate ground roll and reflected waves.Because ground roll is characterized by lowfrequency,low-velocity,and dispersion,we select two-dimensional undecimated discrete wavelet transform as a sparse representation dictionary of ground roll.Because of a strong local correlation of the reflected wave,we select two-dimensional local discrete cosine transform as the sparse representation dictionary of reflected waves.A sparse representation model of seismic data is constructed based on a two-dimensional joint dictionary then a block coordinate relaxation algorithm is used to solve the model and decompose seismic record into reflected wave part and ground roll part. The good effects for the synthetic seismic data and application of real seismic data indicate that when using the model,strong-energy ground roll is considerably suppressed and the waveform of the reflected wave is effectively protected.
文摘BACKGROUND Staging diagnosis of liver fibrosis is a prerequisite for timely diagnosis and therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis B.In recent years, ultrasound elastography has become an important method for clinical noninvasive assessment of liver fibrosis stage, but its diagnostic value for early liver fibrosis still needs to be further improved. In this study, the texture analysis was carried out on the basis of two dimensional shear wave elastography(2D-SWE),and the feasibility of 2D-SWE plus texture analysis in the diagnosis of early liver fibrosis was discussed.AIM To assess the diagnostic value of 2D-SWE combined with textural analysis in liver fibrosis staging.METHODS This study recruited 46 patients with chronic hepatitis B.Patients underwent 2DSWE and texture analysis;Young's modulus values and textural patterns were obtained, respectively.Textural pattern was analyzed with regard to contrast, correlation, angular second moment(ASM),and homogeneity.Pathological results of biopsy specimens were the gold standard;comparison and assessment of the diagnosis efficiency were conducted for 2D-SWE,texture analysis and their combination.RESULTS 2D-SWE displayed diagnosis efficiency in early fibrosis, significant fibrosis, severe fibrosis, and early cirrhosis(AUC>0.7,P<0.05)with respective AUC values of 0.823(0.678-0.921),0.808(0.662-0.911),0.920(0.798-0.980),and 0.855(0.716-0.943).Contrast and homogeneity displayed independent diagnosis efficiency in liver fibrosis stage(AUC>0.7,P<0.05),whereas correlation and ASM showed limited values.AUC of contrast and homogeneity were respectively 0.906(0.779-0.973),0.835(0.693-0.930),0.807(0.660-0.910)and 0.925(0.805-0.983),0.789(0.639-0.897),0.736(0.582-0.858),0.705(0.549-0.883)and 0.798(0.650-0.904)in four liver fibrosis stages, which exhibited equivalence to 2D-SWE in diagnostic efficiency(P>0.05).Combined diagnosis(PRE)displayed diagnostic efficiency(AUC>0.7,P<0.01)for all fibrosis stages with respective AUC of 0.952(0.841-0.994),0.896(0.766-0.967),0.978(0.881-0.999),0.947(0.835-0.992).The combined diagnosis showed higher diagnosis efficiency over 2D-SWE in early liver fibrosis(P<0.05),whereas no significant differences were observed in other comparisons(P>0.05).CONCLUSION Texture analysis was capable of diagnosing liver fibrosis stage, combined diagnosis had obvious advantages in early liver fibrosis, liver fibrosis stage might be related to the hepatic tissue hardness distribution.

文摘The conventional approach to analysis the buckling of rectangular laminates containing an embedded delamination subjected to the in-plane loading is to simplify the laminate as a beam-plate from which the predicted buckling load decreases as the length of the laminate increases. Solutions are verified with the well established results and are found in good agreement with the latter.
文摘AIM To simplify the diagnostic criteria for superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(SESCC) on Narrow Band Imaging combined with magnifying endoscopy(NBI-ME).METHODS This study was based on the post-hoc analysis of a randomized controlled trial. The sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of diagnosis for SESCC were 77.8%, 57.1%, 69.7% and 51.9%, 80.0%, 62.9% for the simplified dyad criteria and Inoue's tetrad criteria, respectively.CONCLUSION The combination of proliferation and VS may serve as simplified criteria for the diagnosis of SESCC using NBIME.

文摘Partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) with integrated moving-window (MW) waveband screening was applied to the discriminant analysis of liquor brands with near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. The proposed method is a promising tool for large-scale inspection of liquor food safety.

文摘It is difficult to quantitatively detect defects by using the time domain or frequency domain features of Lamb wave signals due to their dispersion and multimodal characteristics. Therefore,it is important to discover an intrinsical parameter of Lamb waves that could be used as a damage sensitive feature. In this paper, quantitative defect detection in aluminium plates is carried out by means of wavenumber analysis approach. The wavenumber of excited Lamb wave mode is a fixed value, given a frequency,a thickness and material properties of the target plate. When Lamb waves propagate to the structural discontinuity, new wavenumber components are created by abrupt wavefield change. The new wavenumber components can be identified in the frequency-wavenumber domain. To estimate spatially dependent wavenumber values,a short-space two-dimensional Fourier transform(FT)method is presented for processing wavefield data of Lamb waves. The results can be used to determine the location, size and depth of rectangular notch. The analysis techniques are demonstrated using simulation examples of an aluminium plate with a rectangular notch. Then, the wavenumber analysis method is applied to simulation data that are obtained through a range of notch depths and widths. The results are analyzed and rules of the technique with regards to estimating notch depth are determined.Based on simulation results, guidelines for using the technique are developed. Finally, experimental wavefield data are obtained in aluminium plates with rectangular notches by a full noncontact transceiving method,i.e.,laser-laser method.Band-pass filtering combined with continuous wavelet transform is used to extract a certain frequency component from the full laser-induced wavefield with wide band.Shortspace two-dimensional FT method is used for further processing full wavefield data at a certain frequency to estimate spatially dependent wavenumber values. The consistency of simulation and experimental results shows the effectiveness of proposed wavenumber method for quantitative rectangular notch detection.

文摘A novel two-dimensional ultrasonic surface burnishing process(2D-USBP)is proposed.7075-T6 aluminum samples are processed by a custom-designed 2D-USBP setup.Parameter optimization of 2D-USBP is conducted to determine the best processing strategy of 7075-T6 aluminum.A uniform design method is utilized to optimize the 2D-USBP process.U〔3(133)and 4(72)tables are established to conduct parameter optimization.Burnishing depth, spindle speed, and feed rate are taken as the control parameters. The surface roughness and Vickers hardness are taken as the evaluation indicators. It establishes the active control models for surface quality.Dry wear tests are conducted to compare the wear-resistance of the 2D-USBP treated sample and the original sample. Results show that the machining quality of 2D-USBP is best under 0.24 mm burnishing depth,5000 r/min spindle speed, and 25 mm/min feed rate. The surface roughness of the sample is reduced from 2517.758 to 50.878 nm,and the hardness of the sample surface is improved from 167 to 252 HV.Under the lower load, the wear mechanism of the 2D-USBP treated sample is mainly abrasive wear accompanied by delamination wear, while the wear mechanism of the original sample is mainly delamination wear.Under the higher load, the accumulation of frictional heat on the sample surface transforms the wear mechanisms of the original and the 2D-USBP treated samples into thermal wear.
