The refractive error changing rate for the cornea and lens power, the axial length, anterior chamber depth(ACD) and vitreous chamber depth(VCD) are calculated, including nonlinear terms for more accurate rate functions than the linear theory. Our theory, consistent with the empirical data, shows that the Pearson correlation coefficients for spherical equivalent(SE) and ocular components are highest for SE with axial length, ACD and VCD and weakest for corneal power, lens power and lens thickness. Moreover, our regression formulas show the asymmetric feature of the correlation that the axial length, ACD and VCD are more strongly correlated(with higher negative regression constants) with refractive errors in eyes with hyperopia than in eyes with myopia, particularly for severe hyperopia.展开更多

However, classical principal com- ponent test (PCT) is non-robust and can be very sensitive to one or more outliers. In this paper, a Huber function liked robust weight factor was added in the collective chi-square test to eliminate the influence of gross errors on the PCT. Meanwhile, robust chi-square test was applied to modified simultaneous estimation of gross error (MSEGE) strategy to detect and identify multiple gross errors. Simulation results show that the proposed robust test can reduce the possibility of type Ⅱ errors effectively. Adding robust chi-square test into MSEGE does not obviously improve the power of multiple gross error identification, the proposed approach considers the influence of outliers on hypothesis statistic test and is more reasonable.展开更多

In case-control GWAS, typical statistical strategy is traditional logistical regression (LR) based on single-locus analysis. However, such a single-locus analysis leads to the well-known multiplicity problem, with a risk of inflating type I error and reducing power. Dimension reduction-based techniques, such as principal component-based logistic regression (PC-LR), partial least squares-based logistic regression (PLS-LR), have recently gained much attention in the analysis of high dimensional genomic data. However, the perfor- mance of these methods is still not clear, especially in GWAS. We conducted simulations and real data application to compare the type I error and power of PC-LR, PLS-LR and LR applicable to GWAS within a defined single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) set region. We found that PC-LR and PLS can reasonably control type I error under null hypothesis. On contrast, LR, which is corrected by Bonferroni method, was more conserved in all simulation settings. In particular, we found that PC-LR and PLS-LR had comparable power and they both outperformed LR, especially when the causal SNP was in high linkage disequilibrium with genotyped ones and with a small effective size in simulation. Based on SNP set analysis, we applied all three methods to analyze non-small cell lung cancer GWAS data.展开更多

Firstly, through the analysis of two-way AF relaying mode with channel estimation error, the resultant instantaneous SNRs at end nodes is obtained. Then, by using a high SNR approximation, outage possibility is acquired and its simple closed-form expression is represented. Specially, for using the energy resource more efficiently, a low-complexity power allocation and transmission mode selection policy is proposed to enhance the energy efficiency of two-way AF relay system. Finally, relay priority region is identified in which cooperative diversity energy gain can be achieved. The computer simulations are presented to verify our analytical results, indicating that the proposed policy outperforms direct transmission by an energy gain of 3 dB at the relative channel estimation error less than 0.001. The results also show that the two-way AF relaying transmission loses the two-way AF relaying transmission loses its superiority to direct transmission in terms of energy efficiency when channel estimation error reaches 0.03.展开更多

Gaussian optics was used to calculate the change rate of refractive error per unit amount of ocular components of a human eye(the rate function M). A new criterion of myopia was presented via an effective axial length.RESULTS: For typical corneal and lens power of 42 and 21.9 diopters, the rate function Mj(j=1 to 6) were calculated for a 1% change of r1, r2, R1, R2, t, T(in diopters) M1=+0.485, M2=-0.063, M3=+0.053, M4=+0.091, M5=+0.012, and M6=-0.021 diopters. For 1.0 mm increase of S1 and S2, the rate functions were M7=+1.35, and M8=-2.67 diopter/mm, respectively. These rate functions were used to analyze the clinical outcomes in various applications including laser in situ keratomileusis surgery, corneal cross linking procedure, femtosecond laser surgery and scleral ablation for accommodation.CONCLUSION: Using Gaussian optics, analytic formulas are presented for the change of refractive power due to various ocular parameter changes. These formulas provide useful clinical guidance in refractive surgery and other related procedures.展开更多

The performance of a dual-hop decode-and-forward relaying system over multiple specular components fading channels(MSCC)with multiple Rayleigh distributed co-channel interferers in an interference-limited environment is investigated. The MSCC fading model is designed to allow direct and meaningful comparisons to be made between line-of-sight channels and non-line-of-sight channels, with exact parameter correspondences. Comparisons of outage and bit error performance between Nakagami-m/Rayleigh and MSCC/Rayleigh fading environments show that the MSCC model is needed to describe line-of-sight channels that cannot be accurately modeled by the Nakagami-m, or other fading models.展开更多

This paper advances an online CVT error state evaluation method, anchored in the in-phase relationship and outlier detection. Initially, this method leverages the in-phase relationship to obviate the influence of primary side fluctuations in the grid on assessment accuracy. Subsequently, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is employed to meticulously disentangle the error change information inherent in the CVT from the measured values and to compute statistics that delineate the error state. Finally, the Local Outlier Factor (LOF) is deployed to discern outliers in the statistics, with thresholds serving to appraise the CVT error state. Experimental results incontrovertibly demonstrate the efficacy of this method, showcasing its prowess in effecting online tracking of CVT error changes and conducting error state assessments. The discernible enhancements in reliability, accuracy, and sensitivity are manifest, with the assessment accuracy reaching an exemplary 0.01%.展开更多

So far panel data literature has only considered these general structures in a one-way model and followed the approach of a Cholesky-type transformation to bring the model back to a “classical” one-way RE case. In this note, we first show that in a two-way setting it is impossible to find a Cholesky-type transformation when the error components have a general variance-covariance structure (which includes autocorrelation). Then we propose solutions for this general case using the spectral decomposition of the variance components and give a general transformation leading to a block-diagonal structure which can be easily handled. The results are obtained under some general conditions on the matrices involved which are satisfied by most commonly used structures. Thus our results provide a general framework for introducing new variance-covariance structures in a panel data model. We compare our results with [1] and [2] highlighting similarities and differences.展开更多

Moench] lines with greatly increased seed numbers were developed. It was originally thought that the msd trait could increase grain yield several times in comparison with the wild type from which the mutant was derived. However, in a small plot trial, msd seed yield decreased when compared to the parent line. Herein we report results that msd seed yield remained either unchanged or slightly increased in comparison to the parent line. We suggest that attempts to measure msd sorghum seed yield were complicated due to systematic errors associated with the post-harvest processing methods, including threshing and pneumatic winnowing equipment that was used for harvest. That is, seed recovery and seed loss from individual panicles were affected by the post-harvest processing. When evaluating sorghum grain yield of types with different seed sizes, threshing and seed cleaning harvesting methods should be optimized for each sorghum line.展开更多

The precoding and decoding matrices are jointly optimized based on Minimum Mean-Square-Error (MMSE) criteria under transmit power constraints. The optimization problem is solved by using a convergent iterative algorithm which in-cludes four sub-problems. It is shown that due to the difficulty of the block diagonal nature of the relay precoding matrix, sub-problem two cannot be solved with existing methods. It is then solved by converting sub-problem two into a convex optimization problem and a simplified method is proposed to reduce the computational complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve lower Bit Error Rate (BER) and larger sum rate than other schemes. Furthermore, the BER and the sum rate performance can be improved by increasing the number of antennas for the same number of relays or increasing the number of relays for the same number of antennas.展开更多

文摘In this paper, beamforming parameters in multiple input multiple output(MIMO) two-way relay channels(TWRCs) are designed. We investigate three communicating scenarios,in which, the source nodes are all equipped with multiple antennas. In the first scenario, one pair of source nodes are communicating with each other under the help of a single multi-antenna equipped relay.A centralized scheme is correspondingly developed where the optimal relay beamforming(RaB) is jointly designed with the transmit beamformings(TBs) and the receive beamformings(RcBs) at both source nodes to minimize the sum of mean square errors(SMSE).In the second scenario, one pair of users in the first scenario is extended to multi-pair of source nodes. We derive a general expression of the optimal RaB matrix of this scenario in the second scheme, and based on which,a RaB matrix is designed to cancel the inter-pair interference(IPI) and to minimize the intra-pair SMSE.At last,we consider a distributed scenario where multiple single-antenna equipped relays are helping the communication between one pair of source nodes. In the scheme associated with this scenario, beamformings are developed under relay total power constraint and relay individual power constraint, respectively. The simulation results reveal that beamformings at source and relay nodes significantly improve the performance in the sense of average bit error rate(BER).The proposed multi-pair scheme has made superior progress in BER performance because it not only can cancel the IPIs but also can balance the useful signal and the noise at each user. Moreover,in one-pair scenarios, the performance of the centralized scheme is better than the distributed one,but the latter is nevertheless much more practical.

文摘In this paper, a joint precoding and decoding design scheme is proposed for two-way Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) multiple-relay system. Furthermore, the BER and the sum rate performance can be improved by increasing the number of antennas for the same number of relays or increasing the number of relays for the same number of antennas.
文摘Mid-frequency wavefront errors can be of the most importance for some optical components, but they're not explicitly covered by corresponding international standards such as ISO 10110. The testing methods for the errors also have a lot of aspects to be improved. This paper gives an overview of the specifications especially of PSD. NIF, developed by America, and XMM, developed by Europe, have both discovered some new testing methods.
