Under the case where the original controller cannot stabilize the faulty system, multiple adaptive controllers are designed and a suitable switching logic is incorporated to ensure the closed-loop system stability and state tracking. New delay-independent sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities based on piecewise Lyapunov stability theory. On the other hand, adaptive laws for on-line updating of some of the controller parameters are also designed to compensate the effect of stuck failures. Finally, simulation results for reference [1] model show that the design is feasible and efficient.展开更多

In the supply coordination, the collaboration between suppliers in assembly system is usually not considered. As a result, the manufacturer’s production is often delayed due to mismatching delivery of components between suppliers. Therefore, to ensure supply coordination in assembly system, collaboration between suppliers should be taken into consideration. In this paper, an assembly system with two suppliers and one manufacturer under uncertain delivery time is considered. The model is established and optimal solution is given under decentralized decision. Furthermore, the cost functions of two suppliers are both convex, and a unique Nash equilibrium exists between two suppliers. Then the optimal decision under supply coordination is analyzed, which is regarded as a benchmark for supply coordination. Additionally, the total cost of the assembly system is jointly convex in agreed delivery time. To achieve supply coordination a bonus policy is explored in the assembly system under uncertain delivery time, and the total cost under bonus policy must be lower than under decentralized decision. Finally the numerical and sensitivity analysis shows the cost of assembly system under bonus policy equals that under supply coordination, and the cost of each side in assembly system under bonus policy is lower compared to that under decentralized decision. The proposed research minimizes the total cost of each side with bonus policy in assembly system, ensures the supply coordination between suppliers and the manufacturer, and improves the competiveness of the whole supply chain.展开更多

The problem that is addressed in this study is to design a decentralized robust guaranteed cost state feedback controller such that the closed-loop system is not only regular, impulse-free and stable, but also guarantees an adequate level of performance for all admissible uncertainties. The stability analysis of these systems is discussed, and the necessary and sufficient condition of stability is derived by method other than constructing Lyapunov function and solving Riccati inequality. The root locations of system characteristic polynomial, which is obtained by augmentation approach and Laplace expansion, determine the stability of uncertain discrete-time systems with state delay, the system is stable if and only if all roots lie within the unit circle. In order to analyze robust stability of system characteristic polynomial effectively, Kharitonov theorem and edge theorem are applied. Example shows the practicability of these methods.展开更多

A sampled data estimation covariance is given by taking intersample behaviour into account. The primary purpose of this paper is to design robust discrete time Kalman filters such that the sampled data estimation covariance is not more than a prespecified value, and therefore the error variances achieve the desired constraints. It is shown that the addressed problem can be converted into a similar problem for a fictitious discrete time system. The existence conditions and the explicit expression of desired filters were both derived. Finally, a simple example was presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design procedure.展开更多

The uncertain systems are modelled as a polytopic type with linear fractional uncertainty in the vertices. A new linear matrix inequality (LMI) characterization of the H∞ performance for discrete systems is given by introducing a matrix slack variable which decouples the matrix of a Lyapunov function candidate and the parametric matrices of the system. This feature enables one to derive sufficient conditions for discrete uncertain systems by using parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions with less conservativeness. Based on the result, H∞ performance analysis and controller design are carried out. A numerical example is included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.展开更多
