DEVISING THE UP-TO-DATE METHOD PATTERN MAKING OF FEMALE APPAREL WITH RAGLAN SLEEVE

This article aimed to find a new way to transform the graphic image (drawing, photos, etc) to the pattern parameters of female apparel with raglan sleeve. The correlation and regressive analysis were used to the data in order to find the existing laws between them. The practical examinations demonstrated the good predictability of equations established.

Professional One-Day Training Course in BIM: A Practice Overview of Multi-Applicability in Construction

The implementation of Building Information modelling (BIM) methodology in the construction industry has been covering wide applicability with recognized benefits in designing, constructing and operating buildings. A recent short course organized in the University of Lisbon, actualized with the most relevant achievement based in master research, was offered to professionals of the industry, namely, architects and civil engineers coming from diverse engineering areas, environment, construction, maintenance, consult and patrimonial enterprises and also from public organizations like city councils. The proposed action covers the areas of construction (conflict analysis, planning and materials take-off), structures (interoperability, analyses and transfer of information between software) and the most recent Heritage Building Information Modelling (HBIM) topic. The course aims to contribute to the dissemination of the potential of BIM in the areas of designing, construction and refurbishing of historical buildings. The participants followed the course with great interest and satisfaction, formulating several questions directed to the particular activity of each of the attendees.

Development and Actuality of Life Cycle Cost Technique in China

Life cycle cost technique is a powerful tool to make a scientific decision and a useful method of advancing the continuable development of the society. In this paper, development course, application actuality and up-to-date research trends of life cycle cost technique in China are summarized. Some suggestions are given on how to general- ize the application of life cycle cost technique which are used as the reference to study life cycle cost technique.

Updating digital elevation models via change detection and fusion of human and remote sensor data in urban environments

OpenStreetMap(OSM)currently represents the most popular project of Volunteered Geographic Information(VGI):geodata are collected by common people and made available for public use.Airborne Laser Scanning(ALS)enables the acquisition of high-resolution digital elevation models that are used for many applications.This study combines the advantages of both ALS and OSM,offering a promising new approach that enhances data quality and allows change detection:the mainly up-to-date 2D data of OSM can be combined with the high-resolution–but rarely updated–elevation information provided by ALS.This case study investigates building objects of OSM and ALS data of the city of Bregenz,Austria.Data quality of OSM is discerned by the comparison of building footprints using different true positive definitions(e.g.overlapping area).High quality of OSM data is revealed,yet also limitations of each method with respect to heterogeneous regions and building outlines are identified.For the first time,an up-to-date Digital Surface Model(DSM)combining 2D OSM and ALS data is achieved.A multitude of applications such as flood simulations and solar potential assessments can directly benefit from this data combination,since their value and reliability strongly depend on an up-to-date DSM.
