The new grout is designed for water blocking by reinforcing as well as seepage control by bore grouting. The A component consists of a modified urea-formaldehyde resin A component, some cement, and some water. The B component is an alkaline coagulant. An orthogonal test of four factors at three lev- els showed that gel time increased with increased water content and with urea-formaldehyde resin con- tent. Gel time decreased at increased levels of alkaline coagulant. The A component of this new composite grout is stable over time. A mixed cross-over test showed that as the volume ratio of A to B increases the gel time falls at first but then increases. The solid strength decreases with increasing levels of the B com- ponent. The solid strength increases over time and becomes stable by the 28th day after mixing. The vis- cosity increases with increasing levels of resin A component. The increase is exponential and may be fit to: μ = 8.162e0.0286x.展开更多

Although the microstructure of this resin has been examined at high resolution by field-emission scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) has thus far not been used, perhaps because of difficulties in ultrathin sectioning this resin in cured (polymerized) state. In the technical note presented here, a novel sample preparation method is described which enabled us to examine the microstructural morphology of UF resin by transmission electron microscopy in ultrathin sections, revealing the presence of spherical particles within the resin. Our initial attempt to ultrathin section the resin directly was not successful as it was too brittle to trim blocks for sectioning. Then, we developed a sample preparation technique that involved impregnation ofPinus radiatawood tissues with the UF resin, and then embedding of resin impregnated wood tissues with Spurr’s low viscosity embedding medium, which has been widely employed in plant and wood ultrastructure work. The resins were characterized by means of FTIR, IH NMR and 13C NMR spectra, their thermal properties and curing properties were investigated and their corresponding films were determined. The results show that the thermal stability and storage stability of the resins were influenced by the types of silane monomers containing dif- ferent carbon atomicities of organic group. The thermal stability of the titanium-doped silicone resin with a molar ratio of silane monomer B(n-propyl triethoxysilane) to silane monomer C(n-octyl triethoxysilane) being 1:1 is superior to that of the resin with a molar ratio of silane monomer B to silane monomer C being 1:3. However, the storage stability of the former is inferior to that of the latter. This work also showed that the synthesized titanium-doped silicone resins have the highest thermal stability up to 450--500℃ with an atomicity molar ratio of 1:4 of titanium to silicon in the reactants. But the best storage stability of the resin prepared from the reactants with an atomicity molar ratio of 1:6[n(Ti):n(Si)] was obtained. The effect of the type and content of curing agent on the curing properties of the resin was also studied. Moreover, thermal mechanism and curing mechanism were proposed in this work.展开更多

By embedding silicone into the back bone of polymeric resin the above drawback can be reduced to substantial level. For achieving this, siliconised epoxy resins were prepared by reacting amine terminated silicone resin with novolac epoxy resin and meta-phenylenediamine was used as curing agent. The applied films of coating were baked at 150oC. Cured films were evaluated for their thermal, mechanical, chemical and corrosion resistance properties to ascertain the commercial utility of these eco-friendly resin for use in anti corrosive formulations. The siliconized epoxy resins system was found to exhibit good thermal and anticorrosive properties.展开更多

A technique using cation exchange resins (amberlite IRC\|50H and amberlite IR\|120) is used to separate clay minerals from the host sediments. The technique is based on the exchange of cations in the minerals that may be associated clay minerals in sediments, such as Ca and Mg from dolomite; Ca from calcite, gypsum and francolite with cations carried by resin radicals. The associated minerals such as gypsum, calcite, dolomite and francolite are removed in descending order. Separation of clay minerals using cation exchange resins is less aggressive than that by other classic treatments. The efficiency of amberlite IRC\|50H in the removal of associated minerals is greater than that of amberlite IR\|120.展开更多

Its adsorption capacity to cation dye was tested. With an orthogonal test the optimal conditions of synthesis were determined: the concentration of sodium hydroxide solution 1.0 mol.L^-1; the reaction time is one hour and the mass concentration of tannins 5%. With single factorial experiment the optimal conditions of adsorption were confirmed: a solidified pH of 5.0; an adsorption temperature of 25℃ and a cation dye concentration of 100 mg.L^-1. The adsorption for cation dye can be similar to Langmuir isotherms.展开更多

The catalytic activities of the modified resins are determined through the hydration of l-butene. The optimum chain length and the best range of amination rate are determined. It is found that the single-pass conversion of 1 -butene was raised 2% on average, and the relative activity was increased over 30% after modification. A hypothesis about the enhancement of catalytic activities by the inclusion of alkyl chain to wrap up the butene molecule is proposed.展开更多

The esterification kinetics of lactic acid with methanol catalyzed by strong-acid cation-exchange resins (Amberlyst-15,D001, D002, NKC, 002) was studied under the condition that simulates the real catalytic environment. Experimental results were correlated by a Langmuir-Hinselwood model and the nonideality of the solution was taken into account by using activities calculated by the universal quasichemical functional group activity coefficient (UNIFAC) method.A good agreement between the model and the experimental data was achieved. Continuous purification experiments were conducted to find the optimum column configuration and operation condition for the system. The effects of various parameters, e.g. the length of different section of the column, feed rate and ratio of reactants, packing material and catalyst type, were studied. This novel system shows good separation results in lab scale, and is potential for industrial application.展开更多

The effects of such factors as reaction time, reaction temperature and pH value on the loading capacity of TTA in resins were investigated. The results showed that the optimum reaction conditions are as follows: time 9-12 h; temperature 90-105'C; pH value 6-10. The loading capacities of TTA can reach 0.15, 0.14, and 0.11 mmol/g-1 when the functional group of FQ resin was - OCH2CH2NHC2H4NH2, - O(CH2CH2NH)2C2H4NH2 and - O(CH2CH2NH)3C2H4NH2), respectively. The structures of resins were characterized by FTIR spectra. The primary study on the adsorption properties of the resins for metal ions showed that there are two kinds of adsorption mechanisms i.e. ion exchange and chelate in the adsorption process. TTA-FQ resins have much higher adsorption selectivity for Pb2+and Zn2+ than for Cu2+ and Ni2+. These resins can probably be used for separating Pb2+ or Zn2+ in the mixture of metal ions or for treating wastewater containing heavy metal ions.展开更多

Specimens (n= 10) were fabricated from a conventional heat-activated QC-20 (Qc-) and a microwave heat-activated Acron MC (Ac-) PMMA resins. Powder/ liquid ratio followed the manufacturer's instructions for the control groups (Qc-c and Ac-c) and for the copolymer groups, the resins were prepared with 5% (-5), 10% (- 10), 15% (- 15) and 20% (-20) acrylamide contents, according to the molecular weight ratio, respectively. The flexural strength and flexural modulus were measured by a three-point bending test. The data obtained were statistically analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis test (a=O.05) to determine significant differences between the groups, The chemical structures of the resins were characterized by the nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Thermal stabilities were determined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) with a heating rate of 10 ~C.min-1 from 35 ~C to 600 ~C. Control groups from both acrylic resins showed the lowest flexural strength values. Qc-15 showed significant increase in the flexural strength when compared to Qc-c (P〈O.01). Ac-10 and Ac-15 showed significance when compared to Ac-c (P〈O.01). Acrylamide incorporation increased the elastic modulus in Qc-10, Qc-15 and Qc-20 when compared to Qc-c (P〈0.01). Also significant increase was observed in Ac-10, Ac-15 and Ac-20 copolymer groups when compared to Ac-c (P〈0.01). According to the 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) results, acrylamide copolymerization was confirmed in the experimental groups. TGA results showed that the thermal stability of PMMA is increased by the insertion of AAm.展开更多

The unit ratio of the MQ resins was determined by Si-29-NMR. The relationship of the unit ratio of the product resins with that in the feed was studied. When the reaction was catalyzed by aqueous hydrochloric acid, and the unit ratio of M to Q in the feed was more than 1, the unit ratio of the product was usually lower than that of the feed. The MQ silicon with an unit ratio of M/Q > 2 could not be obtained. 文摘The present work involves the development of siliconized epoxy resin to overcome the drawback of epoxy resin like poor impact strength, high rigidity and moisture absorbing nature because of which they are not applied as corrosion resistant coating. The siliconized epoxy resins system was found to exhibit good thermal and anticorrosive properties.
文摘Classic physical and chemical treatments applied to separating clay minerals from the host sediments are often difficult or aggressive for clay minerals. The efficiency of amberlite IRC\|50H in the removal of associated minerals is greater than that of amberlite IR\|120.
文摘In this paper, a new kind of adsorption resin with multi-phenolic hydroxyl was created by immobilizing black wattle bark tannins to chloromethyl polystyrene resin. The adsorption for cation dye can be similar to Langmuir isotherms.
文摘In this work, the amination of sulfonated polystyrene resin with alkyl secondary amine is investigated. The catalytic activities of the modified resins are determined through the hydration of l-butene. The optimum chain length and the best range of amination rate are determined. It is found that the single-pass conversion of 1 -butene was raised 2% on average, and the relative activity was increased over 30% after modification. A hypothesis about the enhancement of catalytic activities by the inclusion of alkyl chain to wrap up the butene molecule is proposed.
文摘The purification of lactic acid based on the esterification of raw lactic acid from fermentation broth and then the catalytic distillation hydrolysis of methyl lactate simultaneously to achieve pure lactic acid is reported. This novel system shows good separation results in lab scale, and is potential for industrial application.

文摘Several kinds of novel chelating resins bearing the functional group of tartaric acid (TTA-FQ-12, TTA-FQ-23, and TTA-FQ-34) were synthesized by reacting epoxy maleic anhydride, which was prepared through the oxidization reaction of maleic anhydride by hydrogen peroxide, with phenol-formaldehyde resin containing polyamine (FQ resins series). These resins can probably be used for separating Pb2+ or Zn2+ in the mixture of metal ions or for treating wastewater containing heavy metal ions.
文摘The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of adding acrylamide monomer (AAm) on the characterization, flexural strength, flexural modulus and thermal degradation temperature of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) denture-base resins. TGA results showed that the thermal stability of PMMA is increased by the insertion of AAm.
文摘MQ silicone resins were prepared through hydrolytic condensation of ethyl polysilicate or tetraethoxysilane and hexamethyl disiloxane. However, if the reaction was catalyzed by concentrated sulfuric acid and the reverse hydrolysis process was employed, MQ silicone resin with very high M/Q ratio was successfully prepared.
