The focus of scholars studying user innovation has been restricted to the interaction between companies and individual users,and how companies can unilaterally exploit values from the value chain between companies and...The focus of scholars studying user innovation has been restricted to the interaction between companies and individual users,and how companies can unilaterally exploit values from the value chain between companies and users.We argue that the value chain between the user and manufacturer should be a bilateral value chain in which both the user and manufacturer can conduct their own innovations and provide greater value to the whole value chain.In this paper,using examples from China's civil-military integration project,we took a step forward to apply the user innovation theory in the explanation of inter-sector technological value transfer.The main theoretical contribution of this paper is the expansion of the scope of application of the user innovation theory to inter-sector level research.Studying cases from China's civil-military integration project,we found that the concepts of user and innovator become blurred when we study the phenomenon across time.When we go beyond individual user and manufacturer and shift the focus of our discussion to the level of inter-sector technological value transfer,we will find that it is possible for organizational agents at large to be both users and innovators of technology.展开更多
This paper aims to synthesize previous user innovation policy proposals into an adapted system of innovation framework,on which a future holistic user innovation policy for the household sector can be based.We do this...This paper aims to synthesize previous user innovation policy proposals into an adapted system of innovation framework,on which a future holistic user innovation policy for the household sector can be based.We do this in three steps.First,we introduce the systems of innovation framework as a comprehensive basis for a holistic approach to innovation policy.Second,we identify and review policy proposals made by user innovation researchers and categorize them according to ten key activities in the systems of innovation framework.Third,from a system of innovation perspective,we synthesize the policy proposals identified into an adapted framework,including determinants specific to user innovation in the household sector.The synthesized proposals are intended to strengthen the systemic and multi-causal effects of policy on household sector user innovation in a country,region,or sector.Future policies for user innovation may,on this basis,be instrumental in avoiding mono-causality,or the concentration on only a few policy instruments in a proposed policy.展开更多
Many specified business needs in enterprise context cannot be effectively satisfied using current business process technology.This phenomenon is called the "long tail" of business processes.In addition,more ...Many specified business needs in enterprise context cannot be effectively satisfied using current business process technology.This phenomenon is called the "long tail" of business processes.In addition,more and more business applications need to be accessed from mobile devices such as smartphones by enterprise end users.This paper attempts to solve both two challenges above.A lightweight event-driven process model is proposed aiming at satisfying the spontaneous business needs in enterprise.And we design an innovative wizard,which works like a tutorial,guiding end users in creating this lightweight process model.Moreover,end users are allowed to interact with the process created by themselves on smartphones.Finally,the usability of our approach was evaluated on a small set of users in a real business scenario.The results show that end users can effectively build their personalized business processes using our approach and interact with them in mobile environment.展开更多
