The Construction of Value Identity Through Ritual Education:Its Internal Logic and Practice Approach Based on a Case Study of Ritual Education in Jiangsu

Ritual education has become an important social approach to disciplining individuals and constructing value identity because of its unique attributes and its capacity to reshape individual behaviors and values through ritual practice.Only by properly grasping the internal logic of the construction of value identity through ritual education can we accurately identify problems arising from ritual education and put forward practical countermeasures and suggestions accordingly.Through the“eight etiquette rules and four ceremonies”campaign and the national memorial ceremony for the Nanjing Massacre victims,Jiangsu has accumulated rich experience in ritual education.Still,in theory,there remain misconceptions;in practice,old problems persist,such as the preference of form to content and lack of refinement and effective use of ritual symbols.The solution to these problems must be based on a thorough understanding of the internal logic of the construction of value identity through ritual education.It is also necessary to further improve ritual space,ritual practices,ritual symbols,and ritual themes to develop an exemplary Jiangsu approach to ritual education in China.

Composition and Value Orientation of Urban Landscape

Based on the analysis of the urban landscape and its composition,main problems of urban landscape at the early stage of urbanization were summarized,including more attention to the technical content of urban landscape,valuing transformation but belittling protection,emphasizing uniformity,ignoring the diversity,lack of scientific planning,and neglecting the value orientation. This article takes the general branch of the Huizhou College of the Democratic League of Huizhou College in recent years as an example. Value Management Practices on Major Construction Projects and Green Building

The paper starts with background information on value management(VM) in the construction industry and current development situation of the green building industry, and costs and profitability of green buildings. The paper continues with detailed analyses of the findings,covering new developments and perceptions of VM, and applications of VM in the industry. The paper also reports case studies on the practices adopted in the planning and design management phase of SIPO Guangdong Patent Examination Cooperation Center and in the construction management phase of Guangzhou International Bio-Island Standard Property Unit II project. As revealed by the practices, the value-adds and savings in construction costs through the application of VM are important for the developers, and the contributions of VM application in green building projects are significant to achieving the expected targets and to resolving the design and construction challenges encountered in the development of green building industry. And the paper presents, findings on how VM can improve construction management and coordination of several ongoing construction projects and on how VM can be systematically implemented by phases, and discussions on other potential benefits of using VM systems.

Value Appeal of Harmonious Moral Life of Chinese College Students

Based on the theory of human nature and community,this paper analyzes some problems such as the weakening of moral appeal,the loss of moral behavior,the supremacy of physical values and the unclear role orientation faced by some Chinese college students in the course of their moral life so as to cultivate moral feelings and construct moral values,reshape the ethics of behavior,give full play to the main channel of ideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities,inherit the outstanding Chinese traditional culture as the focal point,and probe into the value demands of college students' harmonious moral life.

A survey of moral distress in certified registered nurse anesthetists:A theoretical perspective for change in ethics education for advance practice nurses

Objective:The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between moral distress that may affect patient safety,and the clinical practice model,assessing ethical decision-making skills of certified registered nurse anesthetists(CRNAs).Methods:A survey using the Ethical Stress Scale(ESS)and the Ethical Assessment Skills Survey(EASS)was conducted with 134 CRNAs.Results:Results indicated no significant effect of practice model on level of moral distress or perceived ethical assessment skill knowledge[Wilks's lambda=0.952,F(6,256)=1.068,P=0.382,n^(2)=0.02].A statistically significant positive correlation existed between importance and skill(r=0.275,P=0.001).CRNAs felt skilled to manage the actions or activities they deemed important.Conclusion:CRNAs who perceived a higher skill level in addressing ethical issues experienced lower levels of moral distress.Findings indicate content-specific curricula for the CRNAs need to be evaluated for ethical decision-making skill assessment content.

The practical value of 3-dimensional computed tomography on diagnosis of bladder tumor

Objective To study the practical value of 3-dimensional computed tomography on diagnosis of bladder tumor, Methods Fifteen patients with bladder masses were examined by thin-layer computed tomography. The results of 3-dimensional reconstructed images were compared with the final diagnosis and the pathological stages. Results According to 3-dimensional reconstructed images, among the 15 cases, 12 cases of bladder cancer were diagnosed, and the pathological types were transitional carcinoma. Two cases were diagnosed as benign tumor (leiomyoma), and the other one was colon cancer, which invaded bladder. The accuracy was 100% . The clinical stages were determined. Of the 12 bladder carcinomas,5 was in stage T1, 3 in T2,, 3 in T3 and 1 in T4.The accuracy of staging was up to 83% (10/12) compared with pathological stages. Conclusion The 3-dimensional reconstructed technology may improve the accuracy of staging of bladder carcinoma, and to provide important evidence for surgery options. 3 refs,2 figs.
