Full-waveform inversion(FWI)is a powerful tool to reconstruct subsurface geophysical parameters with high resolution.As3 D surveys become widely implemented,corresponding 3 D processing techniques are required to solv...Full-waveform inversion(FWI)is a powerful tool to reconstruct subsurface geophysical parameters with high resolution.As3 D surveys become widely implemented,corresponding 3 D processing techniques are required to solve complex geological cases,while a large amount of computation is the most challenging problem.We propose an adaptive variable-grid 3 D FWI on graphics processing unit devices to improve computational efficiency without losing accuracy.The irregular-grid discretization strategy is based on a dispersion relation,and the grid size adapts to depth,velocity,and frequency automatically.According to the transformed grid coordinates,we derive a modified acoustic wave equation and apply it to full wavefield simulation.The 3 D variable-grid modeling is conducted on several 3 D models to validate its feasibility,accuracy and efficiency.Then we apply the proposed modeling method to full-waveform inversion for source and residual wavefield propagation.It is demonstrated that the adaptive variable-grid FWI is capable of decreasing computing time and memory requirements.From the inversion results of the 3 D SEG/EAGE overthrust model,our method retains inversion accuracy when recovering both thrust and channels.展开更多

In the proposed design...This paper presents an efficient VLSI architecture of the contest-based adaptive variable length code (CAVLC) decoder with power optimized for the H.264/advanced video coding (AVC) standard. In the proposed design, according to the regularity of the codewords, the first one detector is used to solve the low efficiency and high power dissipation problem within the traditional method of table-searching. Considering the relevance of the data used in the process of runbefore's decoding, arithmetic operation is combined with finite state machine (FSM), which achieves higher decoding efficiency. According to the CAVLC decoding flow, clock gating is employed in the module level and the register level respectively, which reduces 43% of the overall dynamic power dissipation. The proposed design can decode every syntax element in one clock cycle. When the proposed design is synthesized at the clock constraint of 100 MHz, the synthesis result shows that the design costs 11 300 gates under a 0.25 μm CMOS technology, which meets the demand of real time decoding in the H.264/AVC standard.展开更多
Traditional biomechanical analyses of human movement are generally derived from linear mathematics.While these methods can be useful in many situations,they do not describe behaviors in human systems that are predomin...Traditional biomechanical analyses of human movement are generally derived from linear mathematics.While these methods can be useful in many situations,they do not describe behaviors in human systems that are predominately nonlinear.For this reason,nonlinear analysis methods based on a dynamical systems approach have become more prevalent in recent literature.These analysis techniques have provided new insights into how systems(1) maintain pattern stability,(2) transition into new states,and(3) are governed by short-and long-term(fractal) correlational processes at different spatio-temporal scales.These different aspects of system dynamics are typically investigated using concepts related to variability,stability,complexity,and adaptability.The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast these different concepts and demonstrate that,although related,these terms represent fundamentally different aspects of system dynamics.In particular,we argue that variability should not uniformly be equated with stability or complexity of movement.In addition,current dynamic stability measures based on nonlinear analysis methods(such as the finite maximal Lyapunov exponent) can reveal local instabilities in movement dynamics,but the degree to which these local instabilities relate to global postural and gait stability and the ability to resist external perturbations remains to be explored.Finally,systematic studies are needed to relate observed reductions in complexity with aging and disease to the adaptive capabilities of the movement system and how complexity changes as a function of different task constraints.展开更多

This paper introduces the problem of green bike relocation considering greenhouse gas emissions in free-floating bike-sharing systems(FFBSSs)and establishes a mathematical model of the problem.This model minimizes the...This paper introduces the problem of green bike relocation considering greenhouse gas emissions in free-floating bike-sharing systems(FFBSSs)and establishes a mathematical model of the problem.This model minimizes the total imbalance degree of bikes in the FFBSS and the greenhouse gas emissions generated by relocation in the FFBSS.Before the relocation phase,the FFBSS is divided into multiple relocation areas using a two-layer clustering method to reduce the scale of the relocation problem.In the relocation phase,the relocation route problem is converted into a pickup and delivery vehicle-routing problem.Then,an adaptive variable neighbourhood tabu search algorithm with a three-dimensional tabu list is proposed,which can simultaneously solve the relocation problem and the routing problem.A computational study based on the actual FFBSS used in Shanghai shows that this method can effectively solve the green relocation problem of FFBSSs.展开更多
