Since usual design method for the absorbers is invalid for noise reduction, the peaks of noise power in the frequency domain as cost functions are applied. Hence, the equations for obtaining optimal parameters of the absorbers become nonlinear expressions. To have the parameters, an accelerated neural network procedure has been presented. Numerical calculations have been carried out for a plate type cantilever beam with a large width, and experimental tests have been also performed for the same beam. It is clarified that the present method is valid for reducing noise radiated from structures. As for the usual design method for the absorbers, model analysis has been given, so the number of absorbers should be the same as that of the considered modes. While the nonlinear problem can be dealt with by the present method, there is no restriction on the number of absorbers or the model number.展开更多

Taking dynamic absorbers with different structural and control parameters as examples, the effects of third-order nonlinear coefficients, time-delay control parameters, and negative stiffness coefficients on reducing the replication of the main system were discussed. The nonlinear dynamic absorber has a very good vibration reduction effect at the resonance point of the main system and a nearby area, and when 1 increases to a certain level, the stable region of the system continues to increase. The amplitude curve of the main system of a nonlinear dynamic absorber will generate Hop bifurcation and saddle node bifurcation in the region far from the resonance point, resulting in almost periodic motion and jumping phenomena in the system. For nonlinear dynamic absorbers with determined structural parameters, time-delay feedback control can be adopted to control the amplitude of the main system. For different negative stiffness coefficients, there exists a minimum damping point for the amplitude of the main system under the determined system structural parameters and time-delay feedback control parameters.展开更多

First, the vibration suppression effect of a single TDVA on a continuous beam is studied. The first optimization criterion is given, and the results show that the introduction of time-delayed feedback control(TDFC) is beneficial to improving the vibration suppression at the anti-resonance band. When a single TDVA is used, the anti-resonance is located at a specific frequency by the optimum design of TDFC parameters. Then, in order to obtain low-frequency and broad bands for vibration suppression, multiple TDVAs are uniformly distributed on a continuous beam, and the relationship between the dynamic responses and the TDFC parameters is investigated. The obtained relationship shows that the TDVA has a significant regulatory effect on the vibration behavior of the continuous beam. The effects of the number of TDVAs and the nonlinearity on the bandgap variation are discussed. As the multiple TDVAs are applied, according to the different requirements on the location and bandwidth of the effective vibration suppression band, the optimization criteria for the TDFC parameters are given, which provides guidance for the applications of TDVAs in practical projects such as bridge and aerospace.展开更多

Supposing that the mass at the lower end of the string is subjected to a vertical harmonic excitation and neglecting the higher order vibration modes, the equation of motion for the mass-loaded string can be represented by a Mathieus equation with cubic nonlinearity. According to the theory of the Mathieus equation, in the mass-loaded string system, when the vertical vibration frequency of the mass approaches twice the natural frequency of the string lateral vibration, once the vertical vibration amplitude of the mass exceeds a critical value, the parametric resonance will occur in the string. To avoid the parametric resonance, a vibration absorber, composed of a thin beam and two mass blocks attached at both sides of the beam symmetrically, is proposed to install with the mass to reduce its vertical vibration, and ultimately suppress the lateral vibration of the string. Such a suppression strategy is finally validated by experiments.展开更多

A dynamic vibration absorber is a favorite solution to suppress the machine vibration since its implementation does not require any modification neither on the machine nor on its installation. The paper considers an unbalanced machine to which a lumped mass dynamic vibration absorber is attached. Firstly, the machine equipped with the absorber is modeled, and the vibration expressions are extracted. Secondly, an original approach to optimize the absorber parameters is presented, and simulation results are advanced, when the absorber is undamped and damped. Thirdly, the absorber optimal parameters allowing the best vibration reduction of the machine are identified, showing bow the absorber should be designed, when the disturbance frequency is stable or unstable. The results are a significant contribution in the vibration control of unbalanced machines.展开更多

First, the vibration suppression effect of a single TDVA on a continuous beam is studied. The first optimization criterion is given, and the results show that the introduction of time-delayed feedback control(TDFC) is beneficial to improving the vibration suppression at the anti-resonance band. Finally, the radial stiffness experiment was conducted by using a dynamic vibration absorber, and the influence of the structural parameters of the rubber bush on its radial stiffness is obtained. The result shows that the radial stiffness of the rubber bush increases with the increase in the length and the inner radius, but decreases with the increase in the outer radius.

文摘An adaptive dynamic vibration absorber(ADVA)is designed for lowfrequency vibration suppression. The leaf springs are applied as the tuning stiffness elements. The principle of variable stiffness is analyzed to obtain the effective range of the first natural frequency variation.A classic simply supported manipulator is selected as the controlled system. The coupled dynamic model of the manipulator-ADVA system is built to obtain the maximum damping efficiency and the vibration absorption capacity of the designed ADVA.An experimental platform is set up to verify the theoretical results. It is revealed that the ADVA can adjust the first natural frequency on a large scale by changing the curvature of the leaf springs. The amplitude of the manipulator is reduced obviously with the installation of the designed ADVA.Finally, based on the short-time Fourier transformation(STFT),a stepwise optimization algorithm is proposed to achieve a quick tuning of the natural frequency of the ADVA so that it can always coincide with the frequency of the prime structure.Through the above steps, the intelligent frequency tuning of the ADVA is realized with high vibration absorption performance in a wide frequency range.
文摘The vibration of machines due to rotating parts unbalance disturbs the machine functioning and shortens the lifetime of its parts. The results are a significant contribution in the vibration control of unbalanced machines.
文摘In order to reduce the vibration on a machine tool, more orthogonal experiment schemes have been designed, which are based on the steel balls vibration reducing principle. After experiments the optimal reducing vibration scheme was determined. This kind of vibration reducing scheme is used in steel balls vibration absorber, which can be used to reduce vibration magnitudes of a machine tools under the working conditions, whereby improving machining precision. The suggested experiment method is of useful reference in reducing vibrations on other machine tools too.

文摘The traditional passive absorber is fully effective within a narrow and certain frequency band.To solve this problem,a time-delayed acceleration feedback is introduced to convert a passive absorber into an active one. Both the inherent and the intentional time delays are included. The former mainly comes from signal acquiring and processing, computing, and applying the actuation force, and its value is fixed. The latter is introduced in the controller, and its value is actively adjustable.Firstly, the mechanical model is established and the frequency response equations are obtained. The regions of stability are delineated in the plane of control parameters.Secondly, the design scheme of control parameters is performed to help select the values of the feedback gain and time delay.Thirdly, the experimental studies are conducted.Effects of both negative and positive feedback control are investigated.Experimental results show that the proper choices of control parameters may broaden the effective frequency band of vibration absorption. Moreover, the time-delayed absorber greatly suppresses the resonant response of the primary system when the passive absorber totally fails. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical predictions and numerical simulations.

文摘A variable mass tuned particle absorber is designed for the nonlinear vertical vibration control of the corrugated rolling mill in the composite plate rolling process.Considering the nonlinear damping and nonlinear stiffness between the corrugated interface,a three-degree-of-freedom nonlinear vertical vibration mathematical model of corrugated rolling mill based on dynamic vibration absorber control is established. The multi-scale method is used to solve the amplitude–frequency characteristic curve equation of the installed dynamic vibration absorber(DVA)system. The effects of stiffness coefficient and damping coefficient on the amplitude–frequency characteristic curve are analyzed. The expressions of the dynamic developed factor of the corrugated roll are derived, and the influence laws of mass ratio, frequency ratio and damping ratio on the dynamic amplification factor are analyzed. The optimal parameters of the DVA are obtained by adaptive genetic algorithm. The control effect of the DVA on the nonlinear vertical vibration is studied by numerical simulation. The feasibility of the designed dynamic absorber is verified through experiments. The results show that the designed dynamic absorber can effectively suppress the vertical vibration of the corrugated roller.
文摘A passive approach is developed to quench excess vibration along a harmonically driven, arbitrarily supported, nonuniform Euler-Bernoulli beam with constant thickness(height)and varying width.Vibration suppression is achieved by attaching properly tuned vibration absorbers to enforce nodes,or points of zero vibration, along the beam.An efficient hybrid method is proposed whereby the finite element method is used to model the nonuniform beams, and a formulation based on the assumed modes method is used to determine the required attachment force supplied by each absorber to induce the desired nodes.Knowing the attachment forces needed to induce nodes, design plots are generated for the absorber parameters as a function of the tolerable vibration amplitude for each absorber mass. When the node locations are judiciously chosen,it is possible to dramatically suppress the vibration along a selected region of the beam.As such, sensitive instruments can be placed in this region and will remain nearly stationary.Numerical studies illustrate the application to several systems with various types of nonuniformity, boundary conditions, and attachment and node locations;these examples validate the proposed method to passively control excess vibration by inducing nodes on nonuniform beams subjected to harmonic excitations.

文摘To achieve the dual demand of resisting violent impact and attenuating vibration in vibration-impact-safety of protection for precision equipment such as MEMS packaging system, a theo- retical mathematical model of multi-medium coupling shock absorber is presented. The coupling of quadratic damping, linear damping, Coulomb damping and nonlinear spring are considered in the model. The approximate theoretical calculating formulae are deduced by introducing transformation-tactics. The contrasts between the analytical results and numerical integration results are developed. The resisting impact characteristics of the model are also analyzed in progress. In the meantime, the optimum model of the parameters matching selection for design of the shock absorber is built. The example design is illustrated to confirm the validity of the modeling method and the theoretical solution.
