Analytical solutions of a system of coupled partial differential equations, which describe corresponding dynamical free and forced processes, are obtained using Bernoulli's particular integral and Lagrange's method of variation constants. It is shown that one-mode vibrations correspond to two-frequency regime for free vibrations induced by initial conditions and to three-frequency regime for forced vibrations induced by one-frequency external excitation and corresponding initial conditions. The analytical solutions show that the elastic connec- tion between plates leads to the appearance of twofrequency regime of time function, which corresponds to one eigenamplitude function of one mode, and also that the time functions of different vibration modes are uncoupled, for each shape of vibrations. It has been proven that for both elastically connected plates, for every pair of m and n, two possibilities for appearance of the resonance dynamical states, as well as for appearance of the dynamical absorption, are present. Using the MathCad program, the corresponding visualizations of the characteristic forms of the plate middle surfaces through time are presented.展开更多

With the coupling effects of lateral, torsional and axial vibrations taken into account, a lumped-parameter nonlinear dynamic model of helical gearrotor-bearing system (HGRBS) is established to obtain the transmission system dynamic response to the changes of dif- ferent parameters. The vibration differential equations of the drive system are derived through the Lagrange equation, which considers the kinetic and potential energies, the dis- sipative function and the internal/external excitation. Based on the Runge-Kutta numerical method, the dynamics of the HGRBS is investigated, which describes vibration properties of HGRBS more comprehensively. The results show that the vibration amplitudes have obvious fluctuation, and the frequency multiplication and random frequency components become increasingly obvious with changing rotational speed and eccentricity at gear and bearing positions. Axial vibration of the HGRBS also has some fluctuations. The bearing has self-variable stiffness frequency, which should be avoided in engineering design. In addition, the bearing clearance needs little attention due to its slightly discernible effect on vibration response. It is suggested that a careful examination should be made in modelling the nonlinear dynamic behavior of a helical gear-rotor-bearing system.展开更多

In the analytical analysis, the system is divided into three subsystems and the effects of the spring and the point mass are considered as internal boundary con- ditions between any two neighboring subsystems. The par- tial differential equations governing the motion of the sub- systems and internal boundary conditions are then solved us- ing the method of separation of variables. In the numerical analysis, the whole system is considered as a single system and the effects of the spring and point mass are introduced using the Dirac delta function. The Galerkin method is then employed to discretize the equation of motion and the result- ing set of ordinary differential equations are solved via eigen- value analysis. Analytical and numerical results are shown to be in very good agreement.展开更多

Changes in these modal properties constitute an indication of structural damage, which may then be assessed on the basis of experimental evidence. The authors proposed an approach to determine the so-called damage damping and stiffness matrices, which are essential to identify the location and intensity of damage. No restrictions were introduced on the damping matrix of the system. The approach requires ambient vibration data of all relevant coordinates used in the structural model, which are processed employing the SSI method. In practice, the identification method is seriously hampered by ambient factors such as temperature or humidity. In general those effects must be filtered out in other to obtain a reliable diagnosis of damage, approach that demands long term monitoring. In this paper, an alternative approach is explored, based on the introduction of error damping and stiffness matrices. Data on both matrices is generated on the basis of observed variations of structural member stiffness and damping caused by ambient factors. The influence of this uncertainty on the identified spectral properties is assessed by simulation.展开更多

The constitutive non-linear differential equations are deduced, the methods for their solution are elaborated. The example of torsion wave propagation in an elongated drill string is considered. Computer simulation of auto-oscillation generation in the examined system is performed for the cases of stationary and non-stationary variations of the perturbation parameter. The diapason of the drilling rotation velocity values corresponding to regimes of stable self-excited periodic motions of the system is found. This domain is shown to be limited by the states of the Poincare-Hopf bifurcations. Owing to the feature that the stated problem is singularly perturbed, the autovibrations are of relaxation type with fast and slow motions. Influence of the length of the uniform and articulated drill strings on the bifurcation values of their angular velocities of generation and accomplishment of the auto-oscillation processes in the drill strings is discussed.展开更多

However, the essential source is the friction torque induced in the friction elements, during their engagement. In the automatic transmission system, the planetary gear set includes several friction elements such as;clutch, band brakes, and one way clutch. During the engagement, severe torsional vibration is induced by friction which is noticeable by the passengers in the form of what so called vehicle shunt. In present paper, a torsional vibration model for Drive Line (DL) system includes three different configurations of automatic transmission is constructed. A computer program using MATLAB subroutines is implemented to obtain the system response. Effect of system parameters on the dynamic behavior and stability has been investigated. The system damping and the trend of the friction coefficient have an essential effect on the dynamic behavior and stability of the system. The system response is now predictable with change of the system parameters which opens up the opportunity in future to control the vibration level.展开更多

文摘An observer-based adaptive backstepping boundary control is proposed for vibration control of flexible offshore riser systems with unknown nonlinear input dead zone and uncertain environmental disturbances. The control algorithm can update the control law online through real-time data to make the controller adapt to the environment and improve the control precision.Specifically, based on the adaptive backstepping framework, virtual control laws and Lyapunov functions are designed for each subsystem.Three direction interference observers are designed to track the timevarying boundary disturbance. On this basis, the inverse of the dead zone and linear state transformation are used to compensate for the original system and eliminate the adverse effects of the dead zone.In addition, the stability of the closed-loop system is proven by Lyapunov stability theory. All the system states are bounded, and the vibration offset of the riser converges to a small area of the initial position. Finally, four examples of flexible marine risers are simulated in MATLAB to verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
文摘This study is focused on the effect of vibration induced by moving trains in tunnels on the surrounding ground and structures.A three-dimensional finite element model is established for a one-track railway tunnel and an adjacent twelve-storey building frame by using commercial software Midas GTS-NX(2019)and Midas Gen.This study considered the moving load effect of a complete train, which varies with space as well as with time. The effect of factors such as train speed, overburden pressure on the tunnel and variation in soil properties are studied in the time domain. As a result, the variations in horizontal and vertical acceleration for two different sites,i.e.,the free ground surface(without structure)and the area containing the structure, are compared. Also, the displacement pattern of the raft foundation is plotted for different train velocities. At lower speeds, the heaving phenomenon is negligible, but as the speed increases, both the heaving and differential settlement increase in the foundation. This study demonstrates that the effect of moving train vibrations should be considered in the design of new nearby structures and proper ground improvement should be considered for existing structures.
文摘Free vibrations of a beam-mass-spring system with different boundary conditions are analyzed both analyt- ically and numerically. Analytical and numerical results are shown to be in very good agreement.

文摘In this paper, the main researches are focused on the horizontal nonlinear vibration characteristics of roll systems for rolling mill, mainly including the study of forced vibration and free vibration of the roller.Firstly, the nonlinear damping parameters and nonlinear stiffness parameters within interface of the rolling mill are both considered, and a fractional-order differential term is also introduced to model the horizontal nonlinear vibration.Secondly, the averaging method is introduced to solve the forced vibration system of the mill roll system, and the amplitude-frequency characteristic curves of the system are obtained for different orders, external excitation amplitudes, stiffness and fractional order coefficients.Thirdly, the amplitude-frequency and phasefrequency characteristics of the free vibration of the mill roll system are investigated at different fractional orders. Then, the accuracy of the averaging method for solving the dynamic characteristics of the system is verified by numerical analysis, and the effect of the fractional differential term coefficients and order on the dynamic characteristics of the roll system are investigated. Finally, the time-frequency characteristics and phase-frequency characteristics of free vibration systems at different fractional orders are studied. The validity of the theoretical study is also verified through experiments.

文摘In this study, the coupled torsional-transverse vibration of a propeller shaft system owing to the misalignment caused by the shaft rotation was investigated. The proposed numerical model is based on the modified version of the Jeffcott rotor model. The equation of motion describing the harmonic vibrations of the system was obtained using the Euler-Lagrange equations for the associated energy functional.Experiments considering different rotation speeds and axial loads acting on the propulsion shaft system were performed to verify the numerical model. The effects of system parameters such as shaft length and diameter, stiffness and damping coefficients, and cross-section eccentricity were also studied. The cross-section eccentricity increased the displacement response, yet coupled vibrations were not initially observed. With the increase in the eccentricity, the interaction between two vibration modes became apparent, and the agreement between numerical predictions and experimental measurements improved.Given the results, the modified version of the Jeffcott rotor model can represent the coupled torsional-transverse vibration of propulsion shaft systems.
文摘The practical difficulties presented by forced vibration testing of large steel structures, such as tall buildings, transmission lines or bridges, led to an increased interest in structural monitoring through ambient vibrations, which usually allows the proper identification of modal properties, natural frequencies, damping and modes of vibration. The influence of this uncertainty on the identified spectral properties is assessed by simulation.
文摘With the use of a wave model, the non-linear problem about realization of the Poincare-Hopf bifurcations in waveguiding systems is stated. Influence of the length of the uniform and articulated drill strings on the bifurcation values of their angular velocities of generation and accomplishment of the auto-oscillation processes in the drill strings is discussed.
文摘The vehicle drive line system is subjected to torsional vibration from different sources of the system such as;engine fluctuating torque, Hook’s joint and the final drive. The system response is now predictable with change of the system parameters which opens up the opportunity in future to control the vibration level.

文摘The modeling and self-excited vibration mechanism in the magnetic levitation-collision interface coupling system are investigated. The effects of the control and interface parameters on the system's stability are analyzed. The frequency range of self-excited vibrations is investigated from the energy point of view. The phenomenon of self-excited vibrations is elaborated with the phase trajectory. The corresponding control strategies are briefly analyzed with respect to the vibration mechanism. The results show that when the levitation objects collide with the mechanical interface, the system's vibration frequency becomes larger with the decrease in the collision gap;when the vibration frequency exceeds the critical frequency, the electromagnetic system continues to provide energy to the system, and the collision interface continuously dissipates energy so that the system enters the self-excited vibration state.

文摘The purpose of this study is to investigate the suppression effect of a nonlinear energy sink(NES)on the wind-vortex-induced pipe vibration and explore the influence of damping, stiffness, and NES installation position on the suppression effect. In this work, the wind-vortex-induced vibration of an elastic pipe of a deepwater jacket was studied, and vibrations were suppressed by using an NES.A van der Pol wake oscillator was used to simulate vortex-induced force, and the dynamic equation of the pipe considering the NES was established. The Galerkin method was applied to discretize the motion equation, and the vortex-induced vibration(VIV)of the pipe at reduced wind speeds was numerically analyzed. The novelty of this research is that particle swarm optimization was used to optimize the parameters of the NES to improve vibration suppression. The influence of the installation position, nonlinear stiffness, and damping parameters of the NES on vibration suppression was analyzed. Results showed that the optimized parameter combinations of the NES can effectively reduce wind-vortex-induced pipe vibration. The installation position of the NES had a significant effect on vibration suppression, and the midpoint of the pipe was the optimal NES installation position. An increase in stiffness or a 10% decrease in damping may cause vibration suppression failure. The results of this study provide some guidance for VIV suppression in deepwater jacket pipes.

文摘The dynamic vibration absorber with inerter and grounded stiffness(IGDVA)is used to control a two-scale system subject to a weak periodic perturbation. The vibration suppression effect is remarkable. The amplitude of the main system coupled with absorber is significantly reduced, and the high frequency vibration completely disappears.First, through the slow-fast analysis and stability theory,it is found that the stability of the autonomous system exerts a notable regulating effect on the vibration response of the non-autonomous system. After adding the dynamic vibrator absorber, the center in the autonomous system changes to an asymptotically stable focus, consequently suppressing the vibration in the non-autonomous system.Further research reveals that the parameters of the absorber affect the real parts of the eigenvalues of the autonomous system, thereby regulating the stability of the system.Transitioning from a qualitative standpoint to a quantitative approach,a comparison of the solutions before and after the introduction of the dynamic absorber reveals that, when the grounded stiffness ratio and the mass ratio of the dynamic absorber are not equal, the high-frequency part in the analytical solution disappears. As a result, this leads to a reduction in the amplitude of the trajectory, achieving a vibration reduction effect.
