This article aims to make an introduction to the construction of China's higher education libraries, especially the recent three decades' achievements since China's reform and opening-up in 1978. In this article, the authors draw a general picture of the development of libraries in China's higher education institutions, covering such eight aspects as management, types and positioning,organizational structure and personnel, expenditure and buildings, reader service, building and sharing of resources as well as automation system.展开更多
The study aims to discuss the construction and development of university library,and transform the management and operation mode of university library,thereby realizing the transformation and upgrading to smart librar...The study aims to discuss the construction and development of university library,and transform the management and operation mode of university library,thereby realizing the transformation and upgrading to smart library.Taking Anhui University of Finance and Economics as the research object,first,based on the literature and data combined with questionnaire design and expert interview,data statistics was made on the development of smart library.Second,analytical hierarchy process(AHP)and big data analysis were applied to complete the construction of the smart library system.Third,based on the data analysis method,the problems in the construction of the smart library were discussed.The results showed that the Chinese smart library started late and developed rapidly after 2012;from information perception to smart service,the construction of smart library system had realized the transformation and upgrading of library construction;the key to solve the construction of smart library was to standardize library construction,realize resource co-construction and sharing,promote technological innovation,and strengthen the construction of smart librarians.To sum up,the construction of smart library is expected to make the library and librarians become the cooperative objects of teaching and scientific research in colleges and universities.展开更多

Here we report Vg1 genomic fosmid library construction and screening. The fosmid library of Vg1 consisted of574,000 clones with an average insert size of 36.4 kb, representing 7.9-fold coverage of the maize genome. Fosmid stability assays indicated that clones were stable during propagation in the fosmid system. Using Vg1 candidate gene-specific primers, a positive clone was successfully identified. This discovery will pave the way for identifying the function of Vg1 in maize development.展开更多
The country’s economic development determines the political and cultural status.At the present time,China’s rapid economic development has greatly improved the country’s international prominence.Although China has ...The country’s economic development determines the political and cultural status.At the present time,China’s rapid economic development has greatly improved the country’s international prominence.Although China has high economic and political achievements,China’s cultural soft power is still in a weak position.Cultural soft power is of great significance in improving the country’s overall national strength and international competitiveness.Research organizations are an important part of the country’s soft power and are of great significance to the strengthening of national soft power.Research organizations are the“peripheral brain”in the decision-making process of the government.National government agencies need democratic science in making decisions,and the adopted policy methods must have positive and effective outcomes on the people.Therefore,the national government agencies cannot achieve this without the help of research organizations.This resulted in the development and rising construction of research organizations.With the comprehensive development and construction of research organizations,whilst making progress,has also exposed several shortcomings.The construction of China’s research organizations requires various supports;especially the intelligence agencies and access to library information,which has a unique advantage in promoting the construction of research organizations[1].This paper first introduces the definition,classification and characteristics of a research organization.It will also provide a preliminary understanding of research organizations.The paper will then highlight and analyze the problems encountered by the research organization.Finally,through the grasp of the advantages of the library and intelligence agencies,a solution is proposed.展开更多
The human microbiome plays a crucial role in human health.In the past decade,advances in high-throughput sequencing technologies and analytical software have significantly improved our knowledge of the human microbiom...The human microbiome plays a crucial role in human health.In the past decade,advances in high-throughput sequencing technologies and analytical software have significantly improved our knowledge of the human microbiome.However,most studies concerning the human microbiome did not provide repeatable protocols to guide the sample collection,handling,and processing procedures,which impedes obtaining valid and timely microbial taxonomic and functional results.This protocol provides detailed operation methods of human microbial sample collection,DNA extraction,and library construction for both the amplicon sequencing-based measurements of the microbial samples from the human nasal cavity,oral cavity,and skin,as well as the shotgun metagenomic sequencing-based measurements of the human stool samples among adult par-ticipants.This study intends to develop practical procedure standards to improve the reproducibility of microbiota profiling of human samples.展开更多
