Integration of Lab model and EHOG for human appearance matching across disjoint camera views

The integration of the Lab model with the extended histogram of oriented gradients （EHOG） is proposed to improve the accuracy of human appearance matching across disjoint camera views under perturbations such as illumination changes and different viewing angles. For the Lab model that describes the global information of observations, a sorted nearest neighbor clustering method is proposed for color clustering and then a partitioned color matching method is used to calculate the color similarity between observations. The Bhattacharya distance is employed for the textural similarity calculation of the EHOG which describes the local information. The global information, which is robust to different viewing angles and scale changes, describes the observations well. Meanwhile, the use of local information, which is robust to illumination changes, can strengthen the discriminative ability of the method. The integration of global and local information improves the accuracy and robustness of the proposed matching approach. Experiments are carried out indoors, and the results show a high matching accuracy of the proposed method.

Fringe View: Problems and Construction of Human Settlement Environment for "Village-in-City"

The construction of human settlement environment is one of the important contents in the domain of sustainable development. We try to annotate human settlement environment for "village- in-city" from the angle of fringe view. According to the macro-system thought of human settlement environment science, the evolvement, which can be generalized into four phases, connotation and problems (including social, economic, and environmental problems) of "village-in-city" are discussed primarily in this paper. Some domestic and international researches and practices are also summarized and assessed in the paper. Based on the analysis, some appropriate clues and suggestions for the construction of "village-in-city" have been put forward.

Protection of Human Rights Under China's Legal System——An interview with Prof. Wan Exiang

Wan Exiang, professor of the Law School of Wuhan University, doubles as justice and vice-president of China's Supreme People's Court. He is also vice-chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, one of the democratic parties in China, and member of the Tenth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's highest consulting body. Prof. Wan is reputed in China and abroad for his achievements in study of international human rights laws and also as the founder of the Wuhan University Center for Protection of the Rights of the Underprivileged in Society, the first of its kind ever set up in the country. Since its founding a decade ago, the center has won a fame for the quality legal services it renders to needy people in their tens of thousands, including disabled people, juveniles, women and workers laid off from state-owned enterprises in the course of China's economic restructuring. While a press favorite at home, the center has received coverage by the NHK TV of Japan, Washington Post of the United States, Phoenix TV of Hong Kong and numerous other media outside the Chinese mainland. Following is an interview with Prof. Wan Exiang, in which he discussed how human rights are protected under China's legal system and in what ways the system should be improved.

The pragmatist view of human rights represents a the-oretical condensation of the Chinese practice in human rights devel-opment.In view of the problem of circular idling between rights and claims caused by the traditional view of human rights of focusing on contents and not valuing implementation,social segmentation caused by empty talks on interests and claims while ignoring social develop-ment,and the phenomenon of the issue of human rights completely becoming empty and useless political rhetoric,the pragmatic view of human rights,based on the fact that there is a gap between the claims and realization of human rights,emphasizes that instead of blindly ex-panding the types of rights in term of text,it is better to base on prac-tice and promote the maximum realization of existing rights through development.The pragmatist view of human rights attaches impor-tance to relevant economic,social and cultural basis to promote the realization of human rights,rather than only focusing on the claims themselves;it pays greater attention to enhancing the realization of rights,rather than the distribution of rights under the total limit;it ad-vocates more for cooperativism in the realization of rights,rather than confrontation.The pragmatic concept of human rights takes Marxism as its theoretical basis and the gene of practice and the dimension of development as its theoretical characteristics,and promotes the devel-opment of human rights through the realization of rights.

Human Rights as Unique Rights——an analysis of Raz's Political Concept of human Rights

The practice of international human rights has led to the development of the political notion of human rights in contemporary times and triggered the theoretical reflection on"what are human rights"The natural rights view,which is based on human nature,regards human rights as universal moral rights owned by everyone against all others.holding a different perspective from the natural rights view,Raz,the representative of the political notion of human rights,bases his view on the political function of human rights in restricting national sovereignty in international practice and defines human rights as the legal rights enjoyed by everyone against the country since the end of the World War ii,which should be enforced by fair and reliable international institutions.Unavoidably,Raz’s concept of human rights has been subject to questioning and criticism by natural right theorists.The controversy around Raz’s concept of human rights shows that:on one hand,the Western academic circle has not readied a basic consensus on the understanding of human rights based on international human rights practice;on the other hand,it deeply reveals the theoretical need for the international community to reach a basic consensus on international human rights practice in the historical context of the changing international legal order.

LabVIEW平台上的温度自动检测装置研究

针对油田开发的技术需求,分析了温度检测装置的总体结构,探讨了温度检测装置系统的编写程序及功能原理,构建了基于虚拟仪器Lab VIEW的温度自动检测装置系统。根据相关信号参数,对比了现有的温度检测装置的特点。在油田开发作业中,温度检测技术的提高不仅关系到油田生产活动,更是推动其生产效率提升的重要基石。研究表明,当油田的周边环境温度发生改变时,晶体参数就会发生改变,使得静态工作点变得不稳定,严重时还会导致电路停止正常的工作。结合Lab VIEW技术,对温度检测装置进行系统测试后,证明了该新型温度检测装置能够实现多台温度仪表的同时检测、多检测点不间断检测,以及温度仪表检测的自动化和对电信号的采集。

3D depth-coded photoacoustic microscopy with a large field of view for human skin imaging

Photoacoustic （PA） microscopy comes with high potential for human skin imaging, since it allows noninvasively high-resolution imaging of the natural hemoglobin at depths of several millimeters. Here, we developed a PA microscopy to achieve high-resolution, high-contrast, and large field of view imaging of skin. A three-dimensional （3D） depth-coding technology was used to encode the depth information in PA images, which is very intuitive for identifying the depth of blood vessels in a two-dimensional image, and the vascular structure can be analyzed at different depths. Imaging results demonstrate that the 3D depth-coded PA microscopy should be translated from the bench to the bedside.

Quantifying Design Parameters of Symbology Page for Automotive Head up Display

This paper gives an overview of studies on parameters displayed on the Automotive Head Up Display （A-HUD） including calculation and construction of symbology page based on study results. A study has been made on vital parameters required for car drivers and design calculations have been made based on design parameters like field of view, distance from the design eye position, minimum character size viewable from a distance of 1.5m between driver and the projected image, and optical magnification factor. lhe display format suitable for A-HUD applications depends upon the parameters required to be displayed. The aspect ratio chosen is 4：3. This paper also provides method to design the symbology page embedding six vital parameters with their relative positioning and size considering relative position between display device and optical elements which has been considered with a magnification factor of 2.5. The field of view obtained is 6.7° × 4.8°.

So-called value refers to people＇s attitude towards the choice between material wealth and spiritual wealth. Specifically speaking, it reflects the interests, demands, psychological and behav- ioral orientation of certain subjects. It is the inward rule which is used by people to measure the value of things, judge whether they are good or not and determine their attitude towards them.

The effect of high-involvement human resource management practices on supply chain resilience and operational performance

Supply chain(SC)resilience is an increasingly important topic for practitioners and academics because it is a competitive weapon for firms to cope with sC disruptive risks.This study examines the impact of high-involvement human resource management practices on SC resilience from the ability-motivation-opportunity perspective.It also examines the relationship between the dimensions of sC resilience and operational performance.Based on data collected from 206 Chinese manufacturers,the proposed hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling.The results indicated that employee participation played the most powerful role in improving supplier,customer,and internal resilience.Moreover,employee skills only facilitate internal and customer resilience but have no significant impact on supplier resilience.By contrast,employee incentives do not influence the dimension of sC resilience.It was also found that both internal and customer resilience have positive effects on operational performance,while supplier resilience has no significant effect.The findings contribute to literature and practice.

An In-depth Interpretation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights With the Common Values of Humanity As the Research Paradigm

Interpreting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights from political,juridical and philosophical perspectives is es-sential for promoting the guiding principles of the Declaration,build-ing consensus on human rights,and advancing human rights practice in the new historical context.To conduct an academic,systematic in-terpretation of the Declaration that conforms to the trends of the times and answers the fundamental questions of the world,it is necessary to find a new research paradigm.The common values of humanity,namely peace,development,equity,justice,democracy and freedom,put forward by Xi Jinping,general secretary of the Communist Party of China(CPC)Central Committee,provide the most explanatory and penetrating scientific paradigm for reaching the issue.This paper an-alyzes and reflects on the views,value foundation and principled(con-tractual)consensus of human rights in the Declaration,and narrates and foresees the far-reaching significance of the three global initia-tives(namely,the Global Development Initiative,the Global Security Initiative,and the Global Civilization Initiative)with the common val-ues of humanity as the soul in advancing the modernization of global human rights governance and building a new form of human rights civilization.
