A Comparative Study of Chinese and English Refusal Language Strategies

Using 80 short video examples about refusal language strategies on Douyin short videos as a corpus,this study explores the commonality and individuality,as well as the contradictory relationship between Chinese and British countries in the use of refusal language strategies by combining manual and graphical data analyses.It is found that Chinese people use more indirect ways of using refusal speech acts,and British and American countries use more direct ways of using refusal speech acts.In addition to this,both Chinese and British countries use non-verbal behavior to reject speech as a way of protecting the positive face of the addressee and reducing the threatening behavior to the face of the other party.This study also found that the ambivalent relationship between the emergence of refusal language strategies in both China and Britain is related to their personal psychological state,social values,and personal face.The results of this study have some values for sociology as well as pragmatics,which is conducive to the maintenance of interpersonal relationships.

Can language acquisition be facilitated in cochlear implanted children? Comparison of cognitive and behavioral psychologists' viewpoints

AIM To study how language acquisition can be facilitated for cochlear implanted children based on cognitive and behavioral psychology viewpoints?METHODS To accomplish this objective, literature related to behaviorist and cognitive psychology prospects about language acquisition were studied and some relevant books as well as Medline, Cochrane Library, Google scholar, ISI web of knowledge and Scopus databases were searched. Among 25 articles that were selected, only 11 met the inclusion criteria and were included in the study. Based on the inclusion criteria, review articles, expert opinion studies, non-experimental and experimental studies that clearly focused on behavioral and cognitive factors affecting language acquisition in children were selected. Finally, the selected articles were appraised according to guidelines of appraisal of medical studies.RESULTS Due to the importance of the cochlear implanted child's language performance, the comparison of behaviorist and cognitive psychology points of view in child language acquisition was done. Since each theoretical basis, has its own positive effects on language, and since the two are not in opposition to one another, it canbe said that a set of behavioral and cognitive factors might facilitate the process of language acquisition in children. Behavioral psychologists believe that repetition, as well as immediate reinforcement of child's language behavior help him easily acquire the language during a language intervention program, while cognitive psychologists emphasize on the relationship between information processing, memory improvement through repetitively using words along with "associated" pictures and objects, motor development and language acquisition. CONCLUSION It is recommended to use a combined approach based on both theoretical frameworks while planning a language intervention program.

Lightweight Behavior-Based Language for Requirements Modeling

Whether or not a software system satisfies the anticipated user requirements is ultimately determined by the behaviors of the software. So it is necessary and valuable to research requirements modeling language and technique from the perspective of behavior. This paper presents a lightweight behavior based requirements modeling language BDL with formal syntax and semantics, and a general-purpose requirements description model BRM synthesizing the concepts of viewpoint and scenario. BRM is good for modeling large and complex system due to its structure is very clear. In addition, the modeling process is demonstrated through the case study On-Line Campus Management System. By lightweight formal style, BDL & BRM can effectively bridge the gap between practicability and rigorousness of formal requirements modeling language and technique.

On the Development of Modern Chinese Advertising Language from the Aspect of Value

As a special social text,advertisement language is in a constantly developing state;it records the development of social value in its unique way.Since the Great Cultural Revolution,the contemporary Chinese advertisement language has been experienced courses from community to individuality,from morality and justice orientation to benefit orientation,and even from unification which presents the socialism's view of value to multiplication which contains the values of capitalism,market economy,feudalism and so on.The development of Chinese views of value impacts the development of Chinese advertisement languages.It can be also seen the development of values are reflected by the development of advertisement languages.

Effects of music therapy on mood,language,behavior,and social skills in children with autism：A meta-analysis

Objective：To investigate the effects of music therapy on mood,language,behavior,and social skills in children with autism.Methods：A literature search was conducted using the following Chinese databases：the China National Knowledge Infrastructure（CNKI）,Wanfang Data,the Chinese Biomedical Literature（CBM） Database,and the VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodicals Database.The search terms were ＂autistic children＂ or ＂children with autism＂ and ＂music therapy＂ or ＂music treatment.＂ Studies of randomized controlled trials（RCTs） were included,and each publication included was assessed for quality.A meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.1.Results：Publications were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Six research articles describing RCTs were included;the total sample size was 300 patients.The results of meta-analysis showed that music therapy improved mood[Risk ratio（RR） = 3.02,95%confidence interval（CI）=1.93-4.11,Z=5.45,P〈 0.000 01]and behavior（RR=7.36,95%CI=4.28-10.44,Z=4.69,P=0.00001） in children with autism.Additionally,music therapy improved language（RR=4.05,95%CI=3.38-4.73,Z=11.71,P=0.000 01）,sensory perception（RR=4.62,95%CI=1.55-7.69,Z=2.95,P=0.003）,and social skills（RR=4.66,95%CI=1.90-7.42,Z=3.31,P=0.000 9） in children with autism.Conclusions：Music therapy can improve mood,language,sensory perception,behavior,and social skills in children with autism.

A Comparison of the Influence of World Views and Value Systems on Behavior between Chinese and Americans

This thesis compares the differences between Chinese and Americans in terms of their world view and value systems,and analyzes how these differences affect the behavioral patterns of people with different cultural backgrounds. It also proposes some suggestions to overcome the difference. As globalization is quickening its pace, world views and value systems, as the core of culture, profoundly affect people's pattern of behavior. A deeper understanding and consciousness of the differences may promote a more effective communication between different cultural backgrounds. This thesis compares the differences between Chinese and US cultures from three perspectives: the different world view between Chinese and Americans, the different value systems between Chinese and Americans and how the two affect their behaviors. Trust Shell Based Constitution Model of Trusted Software

Since the guarantee of trustiness is considered inadequate in traditional software development methods,software developed using these methods lacks effective measures for ensuring its trustiness.Combining agent technique with the support of trusted computing provided by TPM,a trust-shell-based constitution model of trusted software(TSCMTS)is demonstrated,trust shell ensures the trustiness of software logically.The concept of Trust Engine is proposed,which extends the "chain of trust" of TCG into application,and cooperates with TPM to perform integrity measurement for software entity to ensure the static trustiness;Data Structure called trust view is defined to represent the characteristic of software behavior.For the purpose of improving the accuracy of trustiness constraints,a strategy for determining the weights of characteristic attributes based on information entropy is proposed.Simulation experiments illustrate that the trustiness of software developed by the TSCMTS is improved effectively without performance degradation.

Android应用敏感行为与隐私政策一致性分析

隐私政策文档声明了应用程序需要获取的隐私信息,但不能保证清晰且完全披露应用获取的隐私信息类型,目前对应用实际敏感行为与隐私政策一致性分析的研究仍存在不足。针对上述问题,提出一种Android应用敏感行为与隐私政策一致性分析方法。在隐私政策分析阶段,基于Bi-GRU-CRF(Bi-directional Gated Recurrent Unit Conditional Random Field)神经网络,通过添加自定义标注库对模型进行增量训练,实现对隐私政策声明中的关键信息的提取;在敏感行为分析阶段,通过对敏感应用程序接口(API)调用进行分类、对输入敏感源列表中已分析过的敏感API调用进行删除,以及对已提取过的敏感路径进行标记的方法来优化IFDS(Interprocedural,Finite,Distributive,Subset)算法,使敏感行为分析结果与隐私政策描述的语言粒度相匹配,并且降低分析结果的冗余,提高分析效率;在一致性分析阶段,将本体之间的语义关系分为等价关系、从属关系和近似关系,并据此定义敏感行为与隐私政策一致性形式化模型,将敏感行为与隐私政策一致的情况分为清晰的表述和模糊的表述,将不一致的情况分为省略的表述、不正确的表述和有歧义的表述,最后根据所提基于语义相似度的一致性分析算法对敏感行为与隐私政策进行一致性分析。实验结果表明,对928个应用程序进行分析,在隐私政策分析正确率为97.34%的情况下,51.4%的Android应用程序存在应用实际敏感行为与隐私政策声明不一致的情况。

CBA联赛观众观赛行为意向的影响因素及其作用机制

为探究CBA联赛观众观赛行为意向的影响因素及其作用机制,采用解释性时序设计,运用《观赛动机调查问卷》《感知价值量表》《满意度量表》《观赛行为意向量表》对610名CBA联赛观众展开调查,并对其中6名观众进行访谈。研究结果:现场观赛动机、感知价值、满意度和观赛行为意向显著相关。现场观赛动机对观赛行为意向的直接效应显著,感知价值、满意度在现场观赛动机和观赛行为意向间的独立中介和链式中介作用显著。研究结论:CBA联赛观众现场观赛动机既可直接对观赛行为意向产生正向影响,又可通过感知价值、满意度的独立中介或链式中介作用间接影响观赛行为意向。建议:开展系统性、周期性、持续性的宣传推广,激发观众现场观赛动机;基于经济价值、情感价值、社会价值等多重角度,提升观众的感知价值;改革创新CBA联赛的治理机制与管理模式,提高观众的满意度。

Methods for behavior descriptions of structure-complex Petri nets

Petri net language is a powerful tool for describing dynamic behaviors of physical systems. However, it is not easy to obtain the language expression for a given Petri net especially a structure-complex net. In this paper, we first analyze the behaviors of S-nets, which are structure-simple. With the decomposition method based on a given index function on the place set, a given structure-complex Petri net can be decomposed into a set of structure-simple S-nets. With the language relationships between the original system and the decomposed subnets, an algorithm to obtain the language expression of a given structure-complex net system is presented, which benefits the analysis of physical systems based on the Petri net language.

A Theoretical Study of Language Transfer

This paper introduces some theories concerning language transfer, such as behaviorist views and cognitive views, and the relationship between language transfer and contrastive and error analysis, interlanguage, fossilization, universial grammar. It is believed that incorporating the concept of language transfer in English teaching may facilitate students’ learning of the language.

Linked Data Based Framework for Tourism Decision Support System: Case Study of Chinese Tourists in Switzerland

Switzerland is one of the most desirable European destinations for Chinese tourists;therefore, a better understanding of Chinese tourists is essential for successful business practices. In China, the largest and leading social media platform—Sina Weibo, a hybrid of Twitter and Facebook—has more than 600 million users. Weibo’s great market penetration suggests that tourism operators and markets need to understand how to build effective and sustainable communications on Chinese social media platforms. In order to offer a better decision support platform to tourism destination managers as well as Chinese tourists, we proposed a framework using linked data on Sina Weibo. Linked Data is a term referring to using the Internet to connect related data. We will show how it can be used and how ontology can be designed to include the users’ context (e.g., GPS locations). Our framework will provide a good theoretical foundation for further understand Chinese tourists’ expectation, experiences, behaviors and new trends in Switzerland.

基于API参数语义分析的安卓应用行为细粒度表征方法

基于API(Application Programming Interface)的行为表征是主流安卓恶意应用检测和分类方法的重要环节。然而,安卓API的笼统化发展导致该表征方法面临粗粒度、无法精确表征应用行为的问题。针对该问题,基于程序分析和自然语言处理技术,提出自动化的方法对API参数进行语义分析,将表征粒度从API提升至其参数,实现对应用行为的细粒度表征。实验结果表明该方法可显著提高安卓应用行为表征的精确性,提升恶意应用检测和分类等任务的效果。

Web users' language utilization behaviors in China

The paper focuses on the habits of China Web users' language utilization behaviors in accessing the Web. It also seeks to make a general study on the basic nature of language phenomenon with regard to digital accessing. A questionnaire survey was formulated and distributed online for these research purposes. There were 1,267 responses collected. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Chi-square testing and contingency table analyses. Results revealed the following findings. Tagging has already played an important role in Web2.0 communication for China's Web users. China users rely greatly on all kinds of taxonomies in browsing and have also an awareness of them in effective searching. These imply that the classified languages in digital environment may aid Chinese Web users in a more satisfying manner. Highly subject-specific words, especially those from authorized tools, yielded better results in searching. Chinese users have high recognition for related terms. As to the demographic aspect, there is little difference between different genders in the utilization of information retrieval languages. Age may constitute a variable element to a certain degree. Educational background has a complex effect on language utilizations in searching. These research findings characterize China Web users' behaviors in digital information accessing. They also can be potentially valuable for the modeling and further refinement of digital accessing services.
