Still, many existing secondary voltage control strategies neglect the co-regulation of the voltage at the point of common coupling(PCC) in the AC multi-MG system(MMS). When an MMS consists of sub-MGs connected in series, power flow between the sub-MGs is not possible if the PCC voltage regulation relies on traditional consensus control objectives. In addition, communication faults and sensor faults are inevitable in the MMS. Therefore, a resilient voltage regulation strategy based on containment control is proposed.First, the feedback linearization technique allows us to deal with the nonlinear distributed generation(DG) dynamics, where the PCC regulation problem of an AC MG is transformed into an output feedback tracking problem for a linear multi-agent system(MAS) containing nonlinear dynamics. This process is an indispensable pre-processing in control algorithm design. Moreover, considering the unavailability of full-state measurements and the potential faults present in the sensors, a novel follower observer is designed to handle communication faults. Based on this, a controller based on containment control is designed to achieve voltage regulation. In regulating multiple PCC voltages to a reasonable upper and lower limit, a voltage difference exists between sub-MGs to achieve power flow. In addition, the secondary control algorithm avoids using global information of directed communication network and fault boundaries for communication link and sensor faults. Finally, the simulation results verify the performance of the proposed strategy.展开更多

At the same time, large-scale non grid connected wind power generation theory avoids the technical difficulties of wind power integration [1]. However, due to the randomness and uncontrollability of wind energy, the output power of the wind power generation system will fluctuate accordingly [2]. Therefore, the corresponding energy storage devices are arranged in the non-grid-connected wind power generation system to ensure the power quality, and it has become the key to full utilization of renewable energy. In the case of wind speed fluctuation, the DC bus control strategy of the wind turbine is proposed in this paper. It can reduce the impact on the unit converter and the power load;this ensures safe and stable operation of non-grid connected wind turbines.展开更多

It is well known that appropriate coupling of inputs-outputs signals in the multivariable HVDC-HVAC system can improve the performance of designed supplemetary controller. In this work, different analysis techniques are used to measure controllability and observability of electromechanical oscillation mode. Also inputs–outputs interactions are considered and suggestions are drawn to select the best signal pair through the system inputs-outputs. In addition, a supplementary online adaptive controller for nonlinear HVDC to damp low frequency oscillations in a weakly connected system is proposed. The results obtained using MATLAB software show that the best output-input for damping controller design is rotor speed deviation as out put and phase angle of rectifier as in put. Also response of system equipped with adaptive damping controller based on HVDC system has appropriate performance when it is faced with faults and disturbance.展开更多

Only AVC is used when small environ- mental disturbances happen, while BESC is incorporated with AVC to restrain the voltage fluctuations when large disturbances happen. An adjustable parameter determining the allowed amplitudes of voltage fluctuations is introduced to realize the above switching process. A benchmark low voltage distribution system including ]?VGS is established by using the commercial software Dig SILENT. Simulation results show that the voltage under AVCCS satisfies the IEEE Standard 1547, and the installed battery capacity is also reduced. Meanwhile, the battery's service life is ex- tended by avoiding frequent charges/discharges in the control process.

文摘This paper proposes a low complexity control scheme for voltage control of a dynamic voltage restorer(DVR)in a three-phase system. The control scheme employs the fractional order,proportional-integral-derivative(FOPID)controller to improve on the DVR performance in order to enhance the power quality in terms of the response time,steady-state error and total harmonic distortion(THD).The result obtained was compared with fractional order,proportionalintegral(FOPI),proportional-integral-derivative(PID)and proportional-integral(PI)controllers in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed DVR control scheme.A water cycle optimization algorithm(WCA)was utilized to find the optimal set for all the controller gains. They were used to solve four power quality issues;balanced voltage sag, balanced voltage swell, unbalanced voltage sag,and unbalanced voltage swell. It showed that one set of controller gain obtained from the WCA could solve all the power quality issues while the others in the literature needed an individual set of optimal gain for each power quality problem. To prove the concept, the proposed DVR algorithm was simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink software and the results revealed that the four optimal controllers can compensate for all the power quality problems.A comparative analysis of the results in various aspects of their dynamic response and%THD was discussed and analyzed. It was found that PID controller yields the most rapid performance in terms of average response time while FOPID controller yields the best performance in term of average%steady-state error.FOPI controller was found to provide the lowest THD percentage in the average%THD.FOPID did not differ much in average response from the PID and average%THD from FOPI;however,FOPID provided the most outstanding average steady-state error.According to the CBMA curve, the dynamic responses of all controllers fall in the acceptable power quality area. The total harmonic distortion(THD)of the compensated load voltage from all the controllers were within the 8%limit in accordance to the IEEE std.519-2014.
文摘Nonlinear loads in the power distribution system cause non-sinusoidal currents and voltages with harmonic components.Shunt active filters(SAF) with current controlled voltage source inverters(CCVSI) are usually used to obtain balanced and sinusoidal source currents by injecting compensation currents. However,CCVSI with traditional controllers have a limited transient and steady state performance. In this paper,we propose an adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) controller with online learning capability to improve transient response and harmonics. The proposed controller works alongside existing proportional integral(PI) controllers to efficiently track the reference currents in the d-q domain. It can generate adaptive control actions to compensate the PI controller. The proposed system was simulated under different nonlinear(three-phase full wave rectifier) load conditions. The performance of the proposed approach was compared with the traditional approach. We have also included the simulation results without connecting the traditional PI control based power inverter for reference comparison. The online learning based ADP controller not only reduced average total harmonic distortion by 18.41%,but also outperformed traditional PI controllers during transients.

文摘The output uncertainty of high-proportion distributed power generation severely affects the system voltage and frequency.Simultaneously, controllable loads have also annually increased, which markedly improve the capability for nodal-power control. To maintain the system frequency and voltage magnitude around rated values,a new multi-objective optimization model for both voltage and frequency control is proposed. Moreover,a great similarity between the multiobjective optimization and game problems appears. To reduce the strong subjectivity of the traditional methods, the idea and method of the game theory are introduced into the solution.According to the present situational data and analysis of the voltage and frequency sensitivities to nodal-power variations, the design variables involved in the voltage and frequency control are classified into two strategy spaces for players using hierarchical clustering. Finally, the effectiveness and rationality of the proposed control are verified in MATLAB.

文摘The Vienna rectifier with unbalanced input voltage and load transient is analyzed.A nonlinear control strategy for Vienna rectifier under unbalanced input is proposed. From the view of positive and negative sequence components, the proposed nonlinear control strategy suppresses the twice frequency ripple and guarantees the dynamic response characteristic at the same time. Thanks to the proposed nonlinear control strategy, the DC bus capacitor can be reduced a lot since the voltage ripple and drop can be suppressed.A 10 kW Vienna rectifier is built to verify the proposed control strategy. After applying the proposed nonlinear control strategy, the voltage ripple is only7 V and decreases over 75%over the traditional PI control when the unbalanced degree is 20%.The voltage drop can be reduced about 80%than former control strategy which is helpful to reduce the DC bus capacitor and achieve higher power density. The volume of the capacitor can be reduced by 83.3%with the new control method.

文摘Half-wavelength transmission can transmit large-scale renewable energy over very long distances. This paper proposes an improved steady-state voltage-control method for half-wavelength transmission systems considering largescale wind-power transmission.First, the unique voltage characteristics of half-wavelength lines are deduced based on the distributed parameter model. In the secondary voltage-control level, reactive power-transmission limits of half-wavelength lines are introduced as another control objective except for tracing the pilot bus voltage reference.Considering the uncertainty and fluctuation of wind power, the overvoltage risk-assessment method of half-wavelength lines is presented to determine specific voltage-control strategies.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed voltage-control method delivers superior tracking performance according to a voltage reference value and prevents the overvoltage risk of halfwavelength lines effectively in different wind-power penetrations.
文摘This paper proposes a new concept of synthesized voltage vector to address dead-time effect issue for Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control(FCS-MPC)technique.For a voltage source inverter(VSI),dead-time is inevitably inserted between the turn off and turn on instants of power devices to avoid short circuit phenomenon. The influence of dead-time leads to output voltage vector error of three-phase inverters.Furthermore,it will result in computing deviation in cost function, and will deteriorate the performance of the system if not properly dealt with.In this paper, the problem is clearly analyzed, and the solution to this issue is proposed by introducing a synthesized voltage vector. The proposed solution is verified by Hardware-in-the-loop(HiL)test in real time, and results validate the effectiveness of the proposed solution.
文摘The large-scale development of wind power is an important means to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, alleviate environmental pollution and improve the utilization rate of renewable energy. It can reduce the impact on the unit converter and the power load;this ensures safe and stable operation of non-grid connected wind turbines.

文摘In the last decades the voltage regulation has been challenged by the increase of power variability in the electric grid, due to the spread of non-dispatchable generation sources. This paper introduces a Smart Transformer(ST)-based Medium Voltage(MV)grid support by means of active power control in the ST-fed Low Voltage(LV)grid. The aim of the proposed strategy is to improve the voltage profile in MV grids before the operation of On-Load Tap Changer in the primary substation transformer, which needs tens of seconds. This is realized through reactive power injection by the AC/DC MV converter and simultaneous decrease of the active power consumption of voltage-dependent loads in ST-fed LV grid, controlling the ST output voltage. The last feature has two main effects:the first is to reduce the active power withdrawn from MV grid, and consequently the MV voltage drop caused by the active current component. At the same time, higher reactive power injection capability in the MV converter is unlocked, due to the lower active power demand. As result, the ST increases the voltage support in MV grid. The analysis and simulation results carried out in this paper show improvements compared to similar solutions,i.e.the only reactive power compensation. The impact of the proposed solution has been finally evaluated under different voltage-dependence of the loads in the LV grid.
文摘An input-output signal selection based on Phillips-Heffron model of a parallel high voltage alternative current/high voltage direct current(HVAC/HVDC) power system is presented to study power system stability. Also response of system equipped with adaptive damping controller based on HVDC system has appropriate performance when it is faced with faults and disturbance.
文摘Two novel improved variants of reptile search algorithm(RSA),RSA with opposition-based learning(ORSA)and hybrid ORSA with pattern search(ORSAPS),are proposed to determine the proportional, integral, and derivative(PID)controller parameters of an automatic voltage regulator(AVR)system using a novel objective function with augmented flexibility. In the proposed algorithms, the opposition-based learning technique improves the global search abilities of the original RSA algorithm, while the hybridization with the pattern search(PS)algorithm improves the local search abilities. Both algorithms are compared with the original RSA algorithm and have shown to be highly effective algorithms for tuning the PID controller parameters of an AVR system by getting superior results.Several analyses such as transient, stability, robustness, disturbance rejection, and trajectory tracking are conducted to test the performance of the proposed algorithms, which have validated the good promise of the proposed methods for controller designs. The performances of the proposed design approaches are also compared with the previously reported PID controller parameter tuning approaches to assess their success. It is shown that both proposed approaches obtain excellent and robust results among all compared ones. That is,with the adjustment of the weight factorα,which is introduced by the proposed objective function, for a system with high bandwitdh(α=1),the proposed ORSAPS-PID system has 2.08%more bandwidth than the proposed ORSA-PID system and 5.1%faster than the fastest algorithm from the literature. On the other hand, for a system where high phase and gain margins are desired(α=10),the proposed ORSA-PID system has 0.53%more phase margin and 2.18%more gain margin than the proposed ORSAPS-PID system and has 0.71%more phase margin and 2.25%more gain margin than the best performing algorithm from the literature.
