The evolution of 3-D disturbance T-S wave is studied in the spatial processes, and the effects of form and distribution structure of local roughness on the growth rate of the 3-D disturbance wave and the flow stability are discussed. Numerical results show that the growth of the disturbance wave and the form of vortices are accelerated by the 3-D local roughness. The modification of basic flow owing to the evolvement of the finite amplitude disturbance wave and the existence of spanwise velocity induced by the 3-D local roughness affects the stability of boundary layer. Propagation direction and phase of the disturbance wave shift obviously for the 3-D local roughness of the wall. The flow stability characteristics change if the form of the 2-D local roughness varies.展开更多

The fluid is assumed to be inviscid, incompressible and homogenous. The inertial surface represents the effect of a thin uniform distribution of non-interacting floating matter. Four types of unsteady concentrated disturbances and two kinds of initial values are considered, namely an instantaneous/oscillating mass source immersed in the fluid, an instantaneous/oscillating impulse on the surface, an initial impulse on the surface of the fluid, and an initial displacement of the surface. The linearized initial-boundary-value problem is formulated within the framework of potential flow. The solutions in integral form for the surface elevation are obtained by means of a joint Laplace-Fourier transform. The asymptotic representations of the wave motion for large time with a fixed distance- to-time ratio are derived by using the method of stationary phase. The effect of the presence of an inertial surface on the wave motion is analyzed. It is found that the wavelengths of the transient dispersive waves increase while those of the steady-state progressive waves decrease. All the wave amplitudes decrease in comparison with those of conventional free-surface waves. The explicit expressions for the freesurface gravity waves can readily be recovered by the present results as the inertial surface disappears.展开更多

An approximate optimal tracking control(AOTC) approach is proposed. Firstly, a six-degrees-of-freedom(six-DOF) AUV model with its body-fixed coordinate system is decoupled and simplified and then a nonlinear control model of AUVs in the vertical plane is given. Also, an exosystem model of wave disturbances is constructed based on Hirom approximation formula. Secondly, the time-parameterized desired trajectory which is tracked by the AUV's system is represented by the exosystem. Then, the coupled two-point boundary value(TPBV) problem of optimal tracking control for AUVs is derived from the theory of quadratic optimal control. By using a recently developed successive approximation approach to construct sequences, the coupled TPBV problem is transformed into a problem of solving two decoupled linear differential sequences of state vectors and adjoint vectors. By iteratively solving the two equation sequences, the AOTC law is obtained, which consists of a nonlinear optimal feedback item, an expected output tracking item, a feedforward disturbances rejection item, and a nonlinear compensatory term. Furthermore, a wave disturbances observer model is designed in order to solve the physically realizable problem. Simulation is carried out by using the Remote Environmental Unit(REMUS) AUV model to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

The control system is composed of a substructure for wave filtering and state estimation together with a nonlinear PD-type controller. For wave filtering and state estimation, a cascade combination of a modified notch filter and an estimation stage is considered. In estimation stage, a modified extended-state observer(ESO) is proposed to estimate vessel velocities and unknown dynamics. The main advantage of the proposed method is its robustness to model uncertainties and external disturbances and it does not require prior knowledge of vessel model parameters. Besides, the stability of the cascade structure is analyzed and input to state stability(ISS) is guaranteed. Later on, a nonlinear PD-type controller with feedforward of filtered estimated dynamics is utilized. Detailed stability analyses are presented for the closed-loop DP control system and global uniform ultimate boundedness is proved using large scale systems method. Simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed method for wave filtering and state estimation and comparisons are made with two conventional methods in terms of estimation accuracy and the presence of uncertainties. Besides, comparisons are made in closed-loop control system to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method compared with conventional methods. The proposed control system results in better performance in the presence of uncertainties, external disturbance and even in transients when the vessel is subjected to sudden changes in environmental disturbances.展开更多

In particular, turbulent diffusion promotes significantly mass and momentum transport beneath the interface between the water and air significantly in ocean and lakes, and thus it is very important for global environment problems to reveal such turbulence property and coherent structure. Simultaneous measurements of velocities and free-surface elevation allow us to conduct reasonably the phase analysis of the coherent structure in interfacial shear layer. Furthermore, multi-point measurements such as PIV are very powerful to detect the space-time structure of coherent motions. Therefore, in the present study, we developed a specially designed PIV system which can measure the velocity components and surface-elevation fluctuation simultaneously by using two sets of high-speed cameras to reveal the coherent structure in the interfacial shear layer.展开更多

For the zonal line-form disturbance under study, the vortex Rossby wave has its source in the second-order shear of meridional basic wind speed in the flow and propagates unidirectionally with respect to the meridional basic flow. As a mesoscale heterotropic instable disturbance, the vortex Rossby wave has its origin from the second shear of the flow in the direction perpendicular to the line-form disturbance and is independent of the condition in the direction parallel to the flow; (3) for general zonal line-like disturbances, if the second-order shear happens in the meridional wind speed, i.e., the second shear of the flow in the direction perpendicular to the line-form disturbance, then the heterotropic instability of the disturbance is likely to be the instability of a mixed Rossby-internal inertial gravity wave; (4) the symmetric instability is actually the instability of the internal inertial gravity wave. The second-order shear in the flow represents an instable factor for a symmetric-type disturbance; (5) the instability of a traversal-type disturbance is the instability of the internal inertial gravity wave when the basic flow is constant or only linearly sheared. With a second or nonlinear vertical shear of the basic flow taken into account, the instability of a traversal-type disturbance may be the instability of a mixed vortex Rossby - gravity wave.展开更多

The growth rate which depends on the baroclinity varies as well. However, in previous linear theories, the growth rate was considered constant, so development of disturbances was not constrained by energy sources in the linear theories. In terms of energy conservation and conversion in an isolated atmosphere, we may study the variations in the baroclinity and growth rate and draw the corresponding pictures of perturbation developments in the varying environments. The amplification for the most unstable Eady wave is discussed as an example. It will be found that growth of baroclinic perturbations constrained by energy conservation is significantly different from the growth at the initial constant rate after mature stage.展开更多

It is found that the growth of synoptic scale disturbance increases with the amplitude of the meridional wind. The barotropic stability analysis at 700 hPa pressure level shows that there is a critical value (Umaz=11 m/s) of the maximum mean zonal wind below which the computed disturbance moves to the west due to the wave-wave superposition. For maximum mean zonal wind greater that 11m /s, the westerly wind dominates and the disturbance moves to the east. In another analysis the stability of the zonally asymmetric basic now is studied with a combined barotropic-barotropic model where cumulus heating is included. The growth rate, intensity, horizontal scale and the westward velocity of computed disturbances reasonably agree with those of observed monsoon disturbances. The fastest growing mode has a horizontal wavelength of 2000 kms and the e-folding time is about 3 days, when the meridional amplitude of the Rossby wave is 4m/ s at 700 hPa pressure level. When cumulus heating is included in the analysis the intensity of geopotential perturbation at 700 hPa disturbance is -304 m2 / s2. Energy calculations show that the kinetic energy of the mean zonal flow is the main source of energy for the perturbation to grow.It is also t'ound that the contribution of the kinetic energy of the basic Rossby wave to the growth of perturbation is more in comparison to the available potential energy.展开更多

Results show that the disturbance velocity presents the sine vibration features with the change of time, and the vibration period is identical to the vibration of the local wall. The disturbance velocity presents the fluctuation feature downstream, and the streamwise wave length approximates to the results from the Orr-Sommerfeld equation (OSE). The growth rate from direct numerical simulation(DNS) is a little greater than that from OSE, and their trends are almost consistent. Under the condition of Re= 2 800, the disturbance amplitude gradually grows in the given computational region with the period T=30. However, it firstly increases and then decreases with the period T= 20. The disturbance harmonic of the former is obviously larger than that of the latter. The maximum streamwise and vertical disturbance velocities from DNS do not fully coincide with those from OSE at the vicinity of the local vibration wall, but coincide well with the former when they travel downstream. The 2-D disturbance induced by the local micro-vibration represents the form of Tollmien-Schlichting (T-S) wave on the boundary layer.展开更多

文摘In this paper, we are concerned with output feedback stabilization for a one-dimensional anti-stable wave equation with disturbance. First, we design a disturbance estimator for the original system. Then, we propose an output feedback controller for the original system. By calculation, the closed-loop of original system is proved to be exponentially stable and well-posed. Finally, this paper is summarized.
文摘When wind appears over the free surface, water waves and turbulence are generated by an interfacial shear stress. Therefore, in the present study, we developed a specially designed PIV system which can measure the velocity components and surface-elevation fluctuation simultaneously by using two sets of high-speed cameras to reveal the coherent structure in the interfacial shear layer.

文摘In this context,a testing system to understand rock fracturing processes induced by different dynamic disturbances under true triaxial compression was developed. The system is mainly composed of a static loading subsystem,a dynamic loading subsystem,a specimen box subsystem, and a data measurement subsystem. The static loading subsystem uses low stiffness loss frame structure technology, which greatly improves the frame stiffness in the three principal stress directions(up to 20 GN/m)and ensures the demand of the disturbance experiment in both the prepeak and postpeak stages. The disturbance loads with frequency of 0e20 Hz and stress level of 0e30 MPa were applied using large flow parallel oil source technology characterized with high heat dissipation efficiency. For the disturbance loads with frequency of 100e500 Hz and stress level of 0e30 MPa,they were realized by using high-frequency and centimeter-per-second-scale low-speed disturbance rod technology.Three rigid self-stabilizing specimen boxes were utilized to provide support for the specimen and deformation sensors, ensuring the stability and accuracy of the data obtained. To verify the performance of the true triaxial test system, disturbance experiments were conducted on granite specimens. The results show that the experimental device satisfies the requirements of original design, with an excellent repeatability and reliable testing results.

文摘By using the 3D dynamic equations for small- and meso-scale disturbances, an investigation is performed on the heterotropic instability (including symmetric instability and traversal-type instability) of a zonal line-like disturbance moving at any angle with respect to basic flow, arriving at the following results: (1) with linear shear available, the heterotropic instability of the disturbance will occur only when flow shearing happens in the direction of the line-like disturbance movement or in the direction perpendicular to the disturbance movement, with the heterotropic instability showing the instability of the internal inertial gravity wave; (2) in the presence of second-order non-linear shear, the disturbance of the heterotropic instability includes internal inertial gravity and vortex Rossby waves. With a second or nonlinear vertical shear of the basic flow taken into account, the instability of a traversal-type disturbance may be the instability of a mixed vortex Rossby - gravity wave.
文摘In development of baroclinic disturbances, baroclinity of basic temperature field varies with conversion of available potential energy. It will be found that growth of baroclinic perturbations constrained by energy conservation is significantly different from the growth at the initial constant rate after mature stage.
文摘A standing Rossby wave of wavelength 30°longitude with a finite amplitude along the meridional direction is superimposed on the zonal mean component of the monsoon flow and the stability of such a flow is examined by a quasi-geostrophic barotropic.as well as by a quasi-geostrophic combined barotropic and baroclinic model on a beta plane centered at 18°N latitude. Energy calculations show that the kinetic energy of the mean zonal flow is the main source of energy for the perturbation to grow.It is also t'ound that the contribution of the kinetic energy of the basic Rossby wave to the growth of perturbation is more in comparison to the available potential energy.

文摘The spatial growth of the disturbance in the boundary layer is directly numerically simulated, and the receptivity of the Blasius basic flow to the local two-dimensional (2-D) sustainable micro-vibration is investigated. The 2-D disturbance induced by the local micro-vibration represents the form of Tollmien-Schlichting (T-S) wave on the boundary layer.
文摘A survey of solder ball production processes especially focusing on disturbed molten metal jet breakup process was made. Then the formation of capillary wave on tin melt jet in the way of rapid solidification was studied. A semi-empirical formula, which can be written as λ=C_ vib(σ/ρ) 1/3f -2/3 to predict the relationship between wavelength of capillary wave and frequency of imposed vibration was obtained. Sn-4.0Ag-0.5Cu lead free solder ball was successfully produced with tight distribution and good sphericity. The excited jet breakup process is promising for cost effectively producing solder ball.
