Recently a study is being conducted to develop an interface through face expression, movement of the body and eye movements, and further more active attempts to use electrical signals(brainwave, electrocardiogram, electromyogram) measured from the human body is also actively being progressed. In addition, the development and the usage of mobile devices and smart devices are promoting these research activities even more. The brainwave is measured by electrical activities between nerve cells in the cerebral cortex using scalp electrodes. The brainwave is mainly used for diagnosis and treatment of diseases such as epilepsy, encephalitis, brain tumors and brain damage. As a result, the brainwave measurement methods and analytical methods were developed. Interface using the brainwave will not go through language or body behavior which is the result of the information processed by the brain but will pass directly to the system providing a brain-computer interface (BCI). This is possible because a variety of the brainwave appears depending on the human’s physical and mental state. Using the brainwave with the intelligent brain-computer interface or combining it with mobile devices and smart devices, regardless of space constraints, the brainwave measurement should be possible.[4,7] In this study, in order to measure the brainwave without spatial constraint, 16 channel compact brainwave measurements system using a high-speed wireless communications were designed. It was designed with a 16 channel to classify the various brainwave patterns that appear and for estimating the location of the nerve cells that triggered the brainwave. And in order to transmit the brainwave data within the channel without loss, a high-speed wireless communication must be possible that can enable a high-speed wireless transmission more sufficient than the Bluetooth, therefore, 802.11 compliant Wi-Fi communication methods were used to transfer the data to the PC. But the systems are very low in transmission efficiency, only 5-10 bits/s, with very large anti-inter-symbol-interference (ISI). It cannot meet high requirements for high-speed transmission of modern logging system. The development of communication technology has laid some foundation for this requirement. For this purpose, the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) Wireless Downhole Transmission Systems are proposed for the first time because of their high transmission rate, anti-inter-symbol-interference (ISI), and high spectral efficiency, etc. Due to non-linear power amplifier (PA) of logging systems with limited dynamic range, the drawbacks of high peak-average power ratio (PAPR) may outweigh all the potential benefits of OFDM wireless downhole transmission systems. Selective mapping (SLM) method can reduce the PAPR of OFDM logging signals without distortion. But at the receiver, the conventional SLM method needs exact bits of side information (SI) to recover the data signal. The probability of erroneous SI detection has a significant influence on the error performance of the system. And individual transmissions of SI result in the reduction of bandwidth efficiency. To restore the exact data signal, our scheme codes the SI bits by linear block codes (LBC), and is easily decoded by syndrome decoding. And then the coding SI bits are superimposed onto the logging signals to omit SI bits transmission. The theory and simulation results show that the proposed method has better performance than the conventional one. Accordingly, the OFDM wireless downhole transmission systems can tackle the high PAPR problem, and highten the transmission rate of logging signals.展开更多

This module consists of an air-core coil and resonant capacitor. With a simple RLC circuit model, it can derive an equation of harvesting energy as a function of coil size. In order to demonstrate the magnetic field, a uniform magnetic field is generated by the developed coil system. From the experimented results, it is successfully demonstrated 100 mW of energy harvesting from a magnetic field of 0.09 mT at 60 Hz. This value is in good agreement with the estimated results. Harvested energy is proportional to the square of the magnetic flux density. However, ICNIRP2010 provides a guideline that an acceptable level for human health in a public space is 0.2 mT at power-line frequency. This paper also discuss the possibilities of several applications related with both magnetic energy harvesting and wireless power transmission.展开更多

In this paper, we propose a joint detection based on Schur Algorithm for image wireless transmission over wireless sensor network. To eliminate error transmissions and save transmission energy, we combine Schur algorithm with joint dynamic detection for wireless transmission of JPEG 2000 encoded image which we proposed in [1]. Schur algorithm is used to computing the decomposition of system matrix to decrease the computational complexity. We de-scribe our transmission protocol, and report on its performance evaluation using a simulation testbed we have designed for this purpose. Our results clearly indicate that our method could approach efficient images transmission in wireless sensor network and the transmission errors are significantly reduced when compared to regular transmissions.展开更多

The method is based on controlling and optimizing carrier frequencies which are used in data links between network nods. In UWA channels Pathloss and noise power spectrum density (psd) are related to carrier frequency. Therefore, unlike radio communications, in UWA Communications signal to noise ratio (SNR) is related to frequency besides propagation link length. In such channels an optimum frequency in whole frequency band and link lengths cannot be found. In Cooperative transmission, transmitter sends one copy of transmitted data packets to relay node. Then relay depending on cooperation scheme, amplifies or decodes each data packet and retransmit it to destination. Receiver uses and combines both received signals to estimate transmitted data. This paper wants to propose a new method to decrease network power consumptions by controlling and sub-optimizing transmission frequency based on link length. For this purpose, underwater channel parameters is simulated and analyzed in 1km to 10km lengths (midrange channel). Then link lengths sub categorized and in each category, optimum frequency is computed. With these sub optimum frequencies, sensors and base station can adaptively control their carrier frequencies based on link length and decrease network’s power consumptions. Finally Different Cooperative transmission schemes “Decode and Forward (DF)” and “Amplify and Forward (AF)”, are simulated in UWA wireless Sensor network with and without the new method. In receiver maximum ratio combiner (MRC) is used to combining received signals and making data estimations. Simulations show that the new method, called AFC cooperative UWA communication, can improve performance of underwater acoustic wireless sensor networks up to 40.14%.展开更多

Its core idea is that any of its wireless equipment can act as both an Access Point (AP) and a router. Each node in the network can send and receive signals as well as directly communicate with one or several peer nodes. One important issue to be considered in wireless Mesh networks is how to secure reliable data transmission in multi-hop links. To solve the problem, the 3GPP system architecture proposes two functionalities: ARQ and HARQ. This paper presents two HARQ schemes, namely hop-by-hop and edge-to-edge, and three ARQ schemes: hop-by-hop, edge-to-edge, and last-hop. Moreover, it proposes three solutions for WMNs from the perspective of protocol stock design: layered cooperative mechanism, relay ARQ mechanism and multi-hop mechanism.展开更多

The transmission efficiency was measured at various distances using the transmission and receiver resonator in the tube. Furthermore, the transmission and receiver resonator were set respectively outside and inside of the tube. Experiment results were assessed computationally using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation. As a result, the transmission efficiency of the transmitter and receiver resonators in the metallic slit tube was higher than that of the case without a metallic tube in the range of the normalized transmission-distance of x/d > 0.4. In the simulation, the current density on the metallic tube around both transmitter and receiver coil were connected. These results reveal that the slit on the tube plays a role of the relay coil.展开更多

文摘In recent years,high-end equipment is widely used in industry and the accuracy requirements of the equipment have been risen year by year.During the machining process, the high-end equipment failure may have a great impact on the product quality. It is necessary to monitor the status of equipment and to predict fault diagnosis. At present, most of the condition monitoring devices for mechanical equipment have problems of large size, low precision and low energy utilization.A wireless self-powered intelligent spindle vibration acceleration sensor system based on piezoelectric energy harvesting is proposed.Based on rotor sensing technology,a sensor is made to mount on the tool holder and build the related circuit.Firstly, the energy management module collects the mechanical energy in the environment and converts the piezoelectric vibration energy into electric energy to provide 3.3 Vfor the subsequent circuit. The lithium battery supplies the system with additional power and monitors’the power of the energy storage circuit in real-time.Secondly,a three-axis acceleration sensor is used to collect, analyze and filter a series of signal processing operations of the vibration signal in the environment. The signal is sent to the upper computer by wireless transmission. The host computer outputs the corresponding X,Y,and Z channel waveforms and data under the condition of the spindle speed of 50∼2500 r/min with real-time monitoring. The KEIL5 platform is used to develop the system software. The small-size piezoelectric vibration sensor with high-speed,high-energy utilization, high accuracy, and easy installation is used for spindle monitoring. The experiment results show that the sensor system is available and practical.

文摘At present, mud pulse transmission systems are widely used in downhole data transmission. Accordingly, the OFDM wireless downhole transmission systems can tackle the high PAPR problem, and highten the transmission rate of logging signals.
文摘This paper presents a theoretical design method for a magnetic energy harvesting module. This paper also discuss the possibilities of several applications related with both magnetic energy harvesting and wireless power transmission.

文摘The design strategy and efficiency optimization of a Ge-based n-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor(n-MOSFET)with a Si_(0.14)Ge_(0.72)Sn_(0.14)-Ge_(0.82)Sn_(0.18)-Ge quantum structure used for 2.45 GHz weak energy microwave wireless energy transmission is reported. The quantum structure combined withδ-doping technology is used to reduce the scattering of the device and improve its electron mobility;at the same time, the generation of surface channels is suppressed by the Si_(0.14)Ge_(0.72)Sn_(0.14) cap layer.By adjusting the threshold voltage of the device to 91 mV,setting the device aspect ratio to 1μm/0.4μm and adopting a novel diode connection method, the rectification efficiency of the device is improved. With simulation by Silvaco TCAD software, good performance is displayed in the transfer and output characteristics. For a simple half-wave rectifier circuit with a load of 1 pf and 20 kΩ,the rectification efficiency of the device can reach 7.14%at an input power of-10 dBm,which is 4.2 times that of a Si MOSFET(with a threshold voltage of 80 mV)under the same conditions;this device shows a better rectification effect than a Si MOSFET in the range of-30 dBm to 6.9 dBm.

文摘Retro reflective beamforming technique has the potential of enabling efficient wireless power transmission over long distance(on the order of meters and even kilometers). In retro reflective beamforming, wireless power transmission is guided by pilot signal:Based upon pilot signal broadcasted by a wireless power receiver,a wireless power transmitter delivers focused microwave power beam(s)onto the location of wireless power receiver. When the wireless power receiver’s location is not fixed or when the wireless power receiver’s location is unknown to the wireless power transmitter, the microwave power beam would follow the wireless power receiver’s location dynamically as long as the wireless power receiver broadcasts pilot signal periodically. This paper reviews our research endeavors in recent years on retro reflective beamforming technique targeting three applications:(1)wireless charging for low power mobile/portable electronic devices,(2)space solar power satellites(SSPS)application,and(3)wireless charging in fully enclosed space. The feasibility and potential of retro reflective beamforming technique with applications in wireless power transmission are demonstrated by some preliminary experimental results.

文摘Three design methods for wireless power transmission(WPT)systems using antenna arrays have been investigated. The three methods, corresponding to three common application scenarios of WPT systems, are based on the method of maximum power transmission efficiency(MMPTE)between two antenna arrays. They are unconstrained MMPTE,weighted MMPTE,and constrained MMPTE.To demonstrate the optimal design process with the three methods,a WPT system operating at 2.45 GHz is designed, simulated, and fabricated,in which the transmitting(Tx)array, consisting of 36 microstrip patch elements,is configured as a square and the receiving(Rx)array, consisting of 5 patch elements,is configured as an L shape. The power transmission efficiency(PTE)is then maximized for the three application scenarios, which yields the maximum possible PTEs and the optimized distributions of excitations for both Tx and Rx arrays. The feeding networks are then built based on the optimized distributions of excitations.Simulations and experiments reveal that the unconstrained MMPTE,which corresponds to the application scenario where no radiation pattern shaping is involved, yields the highest PTE.The next highest PTE belongs to the weighted MMPTE,where the power levels at all the receiving elements are imposed to be equal. The constrained MMPTE has the lowest PTE,corresponding to the scenario in which the radiated power pattern is assumed to be flat along with the Rx array.
文摘To achieve much efficient multimedia transmission over an error-prone wireless network, there are still some problem must to be solved, especially in energy limited wireless sensor network. Our results clearly indicate that our method could approach efficient images transmission in wireless sensor network and the transmission errors are significantly reduced when compared to regular transmissions.

文摘A microstrip loop resonator loaded with a lumped capacitor is proposed for short-range wireless power transmission applications. The overall physical dimensions of the proposed loop resonator configuration are as small as 3 cm by 3 cm.Power transmission efficiency of greater than 80%is achieved with a power transmission distance smaller than 5 mm via the strong coupling between two loop resonators around 1 GHz,as demonstrated by simulations and measurements.Experimental results also show that the power transmission performance is insensitive to various geometrical misalignments. The numerical and experimental results of this paper reveal a bandwidth of more than 50 MHz within which the power transmission efficiency is above 80%.As a result, the proposed microstrip loop resonator has the potential to accomplish efficient wireless power transmission and high-speed(higher than 10 Mbit/s)wireless communication simultaneously.
文摘In this paper a new method to improve performance of cooperative underwater acoustic (UWA) sensor networks will be introduced. Simulations show that the new method, called AFC cooperative UWA communication, can improve performance of underwater acoustic wireless sensor networks up to 40.14%.
文摘Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is a new-type wireless network. Moreover, it proposes three solutions for WMNs from the perspective of protocol stock design: layered cooperative mechanism, relay ARQ mechanism and multi-hop mechanism.
文摘Wireless power transfer (WPT) using a metallic tube with axial slits was attempted to demonstrate WPT using magnetic resonance coupling to the diagnostics infrastructure. These results reveal that the slit on the tube plays a role of the relay coil.
