Arab Women in Israeli Politics： Aspirations for Fundamental Equality or Preservation of Gender Inequality？

This paper focuses on reviewing the factors that operate to reduce gender inequality in political representation among Arab women in Israel. A theoretical debate about the changes in the status of Arab women as they are reflected in political representation patterns is conducted in the context of the political reality in the last decade in Israel and the ＂Arab Spring＂ events. The paper also focuses on clarifying the significance of the changes in political representation patterns as future trends of reducing gender inequality, within the acknowledged social patterns, which do not subvert the gender order in Arab society in Israel or in the frame of fundamental social change.

Applying Politeness Strategies in Teacher Talk to Increase Students Participation

Based on Brown and Levinson's face theory, this paper points out that Chinese students keep silent in the English class for the sake of their face wants. As facilitators of language learning, teachers need to learn some politeness strategies and employ various politeness strategies to maintain and enhance students' face to spark their motivation to participate in the interactive activities so as to develop their language control.

“政党组织参与”:党建引领社区治理何以有效的一种解释框架与路径选择

在基层治理现代化导向下,党建引领社区治理何以有效是一个亟待解决的问题。针对“行政有效、治理无效”的治理难题,本研究结合中国共产党的核心功能、历史传统和制度优势等构建了“政党组织参与”的解释框架,为理解上述命题提供了一种新的视角“。政党组织参与”功能的发挥需要一定的条件作为基础,尤其是对于基层党组织而言,应当要实现权责匹配以规避“小马拉大车”的问题。在此基础上,党组织可以运用激励驱动、示范带动和科技推动“三动”机制激发参与动力,形塑榜样效应,降低参与成本。提升党建引领社区治理有效性的关键在于为“政党组织参与”创造条件,这就要求党组织实现“两个转变”和“三个融合”。具体而言,在引领理念上实现组织覆盖向功能提升转变,在引领主体上实现各自为政向整合协同转变,在引领逻辑上实现党建逻辑与治理逻辑的融合,在引领机制上实现正式机制与非正式机制的融合,在引领方式上实现线上平台与线下平台的融合。

数字政府对公共服务合供意愿的影响——基于跨国数据的实证研究

公共服务结合数字技术的运用受到世界各国政府的普遍关注,然而政府数字化如何影响公民的公共服务合供意愿的研究尚未得到充分验证。本文基于75个国家的相关调查数据进行分析,梳理了数字政府与公共服务合供意愿之间的关系,特别是关注其内在影响及其作用机制。研究发现,数字政府建设水平越高,公民的公共服务合供意愿越强,在上述过程中,政治参与起着调节作用,即在高政治参与水平的国家或地区,数字政府助推公共服务合供意愿的作用更强。本研究在数字网络时代助推公共服务合供具有一定的启示意义。

Analysis of Characteristics of the Rural Political Participation in Yan'an Period

From October 1935 when the Central Red Army arrived in northern Shaanxi to March 1948 when the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China crossed the Yellow River,the Communist Party of China inspired ordinary party members' political participation consciousness through rectification and seeking the opinions of non-party individuals,and stimulated the political participation enthusiasm of democracy activists through the special election to improve farmers' political participation awareness,in order to form a unique " Yan'an democratic model",which greatly accelerated the victory of the resistance war and accumulated rich experience for democratic construction.

Social Media Use and Political Participation in Rural China:A Case Study

Among the few studies conducted on political participation in China,most, if not all, provided an urban-centric picture of participation with both Internet-based debate on certain topics or offline movement on a specific issue.Little attention is paid to the role social media use which might play in rural politics in China. This paper takes it from here and looks at how factory nongmingong in China use social media to participate in rural politics, as well as the relationship between such use and political participation.We employ a processual approach to rural politics where rural politics is viewed as the interaction between individual participant and the structural forces,cultural or political, that comprise the current cultural nexus of power within the enlarged social landscape of rural politics. We will in this process examine the participation of their perception of rural politics, expression as well as action. By interviews and participant observation among nongmingong in this villa,ge, we demonstrated that their perception of the factory culture, the time limits imposed by the factory, and extant social networks on social media and the renting and mianzi principles attached to it are three important cultural forces shaping both their political use of social media and the observed political participation. The very affordance of friends and group chats offered by WeChat, when adopted by them, in our case, play a central role in this process.

Visualizing Clashes and Alliances in Social Networks of Political Discussions

Political discussions are characterized by conflicts of interest, and decisions are made based on negotiations. In general, participants need to reinforce their opinions and influence other participants. In this context, it is important to know how allies and opponents are positioned, in order to understand the discussion dynamics and plan adequate actions. This paper suggests the use of social network visualizations to explicit oppositions and alliances in order to support the understanding and following of political discussions. A system which supports these visualizations was built. An experiment performed to test the proposed visualizations showed to which extent they can be more efficient in identifying information about clashes and alliances than an online discussion system can.

Bangsamoro Women＇s Participation on Political Processes in Lanao Del Sur

This study attempts to examine the conceptual and political bases of Bangsamoro women＇s participation on politics in terms of electoral, policy-making, and peace processes in Lanao del Sur. The descriptive correlation method was used, which utilized a survey questionnaire as the primary source in acquiring the data. The findings showed that the majority of the respondents were young, most of them were married and had finished elementary degree. It was observed that their participation in electoral, policy-making, and peace processes was high but vote buying, political ideology, and corruption were considered to be their problems. Despite cultural barriers, a clear understanding of their role as Muslim woman can increase their participation. Hence, total reform in the government as well as the Barangay should be done including their participation for the training programs on leadership, accountability and transparency, human and political rights awareness as well as the Shariah Law and the Philippine Constitution. Political party system that has a strong alliance to other political parties shall also be established in order to assure their participation. Linkages to other civil society like class-based organizations, occupation-based associations, and interest-based societies shall be tapped by the leaders of Bangsamoro women.

Corruption,which is a serious problem for us today,covers a wide range of social and political phenomena and processes,from the normal functioning of ordinary citizens to the forms and structures of political governance.In particular,the personality is determined by the way of life,the environment,and the needs of the family and social group,and then a political ideology is formed based on the multifaceted interests of social groups,which are expressed in complex social,economic,and political forms.Indicators of the extent to which social well-being is achieved in developing democracies raise questions about whether citizens are united in their views and actions,as well as how they participate and are interested in social and political activities.On the other hand,this is reflected in the differences in views and the level of trust in the government and other social institutions,and as an important tool for determining the development of the country.It is necessary to determine the level of social and political participation.This is the root cause of the problem.Because every democracy is very different,to understand how they affect human development,and to be a social person,people need to be able to provide a little economic security and an understanding of the issues at stake.This is the basis for building a transparent society based on the principles of zero tolerance for corruption,justice,equal participation,and equality.That is why in this subsection we explore the relationships between political parties,groups,political,business,and criminal groups in the form of political corruption,as well as the causes of political corruption in the political sphere.

数字技术与政府治理有效性:来自285个城市的经验证据

政府治理有效性是对治理能力予以定量识别的重要参考。本文基于2003—2021年我国285个城市的面板数据,实证检验了数字技术对提升政府治理有效性的作用。研究发现:数字技术能够提升政府治理有效性。进一步将政府治理有效性细分为经济治理有效性和社会治理有效性发现,数字技术既能够通过要素流动机制让企业信息获取能力提升和重资产比重降低,提升经济治理有效性,也能通过政治参与机制增强民众政治效能感和政府信息处理水平,帮助政府提升社会治理有效性。在高数字基础设施建设水平城市、适度数字人才集聚度城市、超特大城市、副省级以上城市、资源型城市以及市场化程度和财政透明度高的城市中,数字技术对政府治理有效性的作用更强。同时,数字技术对政府治理有效性的影响在东部沿海、黄河中游等人口密集地区显著为正,在西北地区显著为负。数字技术对政府治理有效性存在正向空间溢出,本地数字技术发展也能促进相邻城市政府治理有效性提升。对此,政府应制定企业数字化转型的激励政策,加强民众数字素养教育,制定全国性的数字治理发展规划,构建地区间协同互通的数字政务体系。
