Towards an Effective Communication in the Care of Patients with Long Term Disease in Kenya via Cybernetic—A Systematic Review

In this paper, to effectively treat chronic disorders and improve the standard of care, effective communication between patients and healthcare professionals was essential. The aim of the study was to review the literature on how good communication might improve treatment outcomes for Kenyan patients with chronic and terminal illnesses and to determine whether Cybernetic electronic communication can improve those outcomes even more. We uncovered the history of treatment outcomes for chronic and terminal diseases in this research study, both with and without communication at the core of the patient’s care plan. We discussed the importance of good communication in the treatment of patients with chronic and terminal illnesses and why it is a momentous endeavor comparable to medical diagnosis and treatment for the long-term health of patients. To locate pertinent material for the background literature study, we carried out a comprehensive literature search. Although the preliminary literature review was a continuation of the introduction research, it also highlighted the paucity of local Kenyan literature and suggested that improved communication might help patients with chronic and terminal illnesses have better treatment outcome. Methodology maintained the literature search, as a systematic literature review focused on core of the study, making separate sections of the same body necessary. This ensured that a methodological literature search section is as comprehensive as possible. We used an integrated PRISM model to limit a comprehensive literature search and a systematic literature review design as part of the overall process. Non-probability sampling and snowball approaches on literary papers over the previous 17 years were used in this arrangement. Since this was a multidisciplinary study, the four experts who also serve as authors were chosen from within their respective fields of expertise to design the study. They created search strategies, generated key words, looked up keywords in database engines, assessed the results of the literature using the PRISMA logical model, looked over successful literature, and triangulated their findings. The conclusions of the experts individually revealed a convergence of thoughts, beliefs, and practices across. The study concluded that even though there isn’t much research done in Kenya on the same subject;what is available illustrates how crucial good communication is for patients with chronic illnesses. The study’s findings also highlighted the positive effects of effective communication between patients and healthcare professionals on treatment plan adherence, patient satisfaction, and overall health outcomes. The results also noted that in order to improve patient care and outcome, Kenyan healthcare workers should underscore developing their communication skills. The study also found that the incorporation of cybernetics is crucial if a truly effective communication is required so as to enable centered care for patients with long-term diseases in Kenya. The goal of the Cybernetics is to activate genuinely effective communication in the care of Patients with long-term disease in Kenya. This study is organized to begin with an abstract, followed by keywords, an introduction, literature review, methodology, findings, discussion, and finally conclusions.

Mediating effect of self-efficacy in relationship between emotional intelligence and clinical communication competency of nurses

Objective:This study investigates the emotional intelligence(EI),self-efficacy,and clinical communication ability of clinical nurses to explore the correlation among these three variables,and verify the mediating effect of self-efficacy on relationship between EI and communication skills.Methods:A total of 865 nurses were recruited and investigated using Wong and Law's Emotional Intelligence Scale,General Self-Efficacy Scale,and nurse clinical communication scale.Results:The scores for EI and self-efficacy of nurses were 14.23±2.61 and 25.36±5.67,respectively,which were lower than the international norm(p<0.01).The score for clinical communication ability of nurses was 4.14±0.53.The clinical communication competency of nurses was positively correlated with EI and general self-efficacy.Furthermore,selfefficacy played an intermediary role between EI and clinical communication commitment.Conclusion:Nursing administrators can improve the clinical communication ability of nurses by enhancing their self-efficacy and EI.

Covert Communication in Integrated High Altitude Platform Station Terrestrial Networks

In recent years,Internet of Things(IoT)technology has emerged and gradually sprung up.As the needs of largescale IoT applications cannot be satisfied by the fifth generation(5G)network,wireless communication network needs to be developed into the sixth generation(6G)network.However,with the increasingly prominent security problems of wireless communication networks such as 6G,covert communication has been recognized as one of the most promising solutions.Covert communication can realize the transmission of hidden information between both sides of communication to a certain extent,which makes the transmission content and transmission behavior challenging to be detected by noncooperative eavesdroppers.In addition,the integrated high altitude platform station(HAPS)terrestrial network is considered a promising development direction because of its flexibility and scalability.Based on the above facts,this article investigates the covert communication in an integrated HAPS terrestrial network,where a constant power auxiliary node is utilized to send artificial noise(AN)to realize the covert communication.Specifically,the covert constraint relationship between the transmitting and auxiliary nodes is derived.Moreover,the closed-form expressions of outage probability(OP)and effective covert communication rate are obtained.Finally,numerical results are provided to verify our analysis and reveal the impacts of critical parameters on the system performance.

Environmental Information-Aided Electromagnetic Propagation Testbed for Maritime Communication

Maritime channel modeling can be affected by some key time-varying environmental factors.The ducting effect is one of the thorniest factors since it causes anomalous propagation enhancement and severe co-channel interference.Moreover,the atmospheric attenuation is much more severe in the ocean environment,resulting in shorter coverage distance and more link outage.In this paper,we propose an environmental information-aided electromagnetic propagation testbed.It is based on complex refractivity estimation and improved parabolic equation propagation model,taking into account both ducting effect and atmospheric attenuation.A large-scale temporal and spatial propagation measurement was conducted with meteorological acquisition.We consider practical path loss and ducting conditions to verify the testbed feasibility in these long-distance radio links.The simulation results are in good agreement with the measured data,which further reveal the basic temporal and spatial distribution of ducting effect at 3.5 GHz band.

Study on Communication Effect of Food Safety Risk in Social Media:the Influence of Response Effort Level on Consumption Willingness Change

By constructing influence model for communication effect of food safety risk in social media environment,the influences of different response manners taken by relevant enterprises on consumers' cognition and purchasing intention are analyzed,and influence mechanisms of response effort level,interaction and content reliability on consumers' attitudes are revealed. Based on quasi-experimental study with three kinds of response effort levels,it is found that content reliability,interaction and effort degree of enterprise response under negative information of food safety event have significant impacts on communication effect and consumers' purchasing intention.

The HIV/AIDS Helpline Is an Effective Tool of Communication

Background and Objectives: With the evolution of mobile technology, the cell phone has become a medium of communication for all manner of diseases. So far no study has been done in India to assess the effectiveness of an AIDS Helpline and that too as a stand-alone service. The objective of this study was to determine if the callers to the HIV/AIDS Helpline found it to be an effective tool of communication. Methods: All the calls received on ASHA Foundation’s HIV/AIDS manual helpline during the period of three years from April 2009 to March 2012, were included in this study. At the end of each call, the counselor asked the caller if he found the call useful and if so why he found it useful. If the caller did not find the call useful he also needed to say why he did not find it useful. Details of each call were recorded and entered on MS excel worksheet and finally analyzed using the SPSS software package. Results: The Helpline received 4692 calls during this period of which?90.9 % calls were from males and 9.1% calls were from females. Of the 4692 calls, 38.72% were from repeat callers. Of the 2875 first time callers, 85.07% responded and said that they found the helpline useful. Responses could not be elicited from the remaining 17% as the calls were disconnected before the question could be asked. Conclusions: Callers to the helpline were mostly male;38.7% called again. All the callers who responded said that they found the helpline useful. Thus it is an effective tool of communication and could to be used to complement advanced care in HIV/AIDS.

Application and effect evaluation on Acknowledge-Introduce-Duration-Explanation-Thank you(AIDET)communication mode in cataract daytime operation nursing

Background:To explore the application effect of Acknowledge-Introduce-Duration-Explanation-Thank you(AIDET)communication mode in reducing anxiety and improving the care services satisfaction of the patients.Methods:The 100 cases undergoing cataract daytime operation from February to July 2019 were divided into test group and control group.The test group conducted health education and nursing care for patients during admission,pre-operation,post-operation,and discharge according to the AIDET communication mode.And the control group was given health education and nursing care to the patients according to the traditional way of communication.Results:The difference of the socioeconomic information between these two groups showed no statistical significance.The care services satisfaction score in the test group was statistically higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)score in the test group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.01).This result indicated that the patients suffered less anxiety with the AIDET mode of communication.Conclusions:The application of AIDET communication mode to the nursing service of cataract daytime operation can reduce the tension and anxiety of the patients from the treatment and improve their satisfaction to care services.

Drivers for Inter-city Innovation Networks Across Chinese Cities:Modelling Physical Versus Intangible Effects

Cross-region innovation is widely recognized as an important source of the long-term regional innovation capacity.In the recent past,a growing number of studies has investigated the network structure and mechanisms of cross-region innovation collaboration in various contexts.However,existing research mainly focuses on physical effects,such as geographical distance and high-speed railway connections.These studies ignore the intangible drivers in a changing environment,the more digitalized economy and the increasingly solidified innovation network structure.Thus,the focus of this study is on estimating determinants of innovation networks,especially on intangible drivers,which have been largely neglected so far.Using city-level data of Chinese patents(excluding Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan Province of China),we trace innovation networks across Chinese cities over a long period of time.By integrating a measure on Information and Communications Technology(ICT)development gap and network structural effects into the general proximity framework,this paper explores the changing mechanisms of Chinese innovation networks from a new perspective.The results show that the structure of cross-region innovation networks has changed in China.As mechanisms behind this development,the results confirm the increasingly important role of intangible drivers in Chinese inter-city innovation collaboration when controlling for effects of physical proximity,such as geographical distance.Since digitalization and coordinated development are the mainstream trends in China and other developing countries,these countries'inter-city innovation collaboration patterns will witness dramatic changes under the influence of intangible drivers.

Analysis and Solution of Multipath Effect on Wireless Communications of Launch Vehicle

The electrical system in a launch vehicle contains multiple wireless communications systems. A large number of prelaunch tests are needed to verify the correctness and reliability of electric systems at the launch site. The complex electromagnetic environment at a launch site will inevitably cause multipath effect which interfere with prelaunch tests. Theory analysis and simulation of multipath effect, combined with engineering practice, can effective identify and quickly correct abnormal situations, and identify methods and measures to eliminate the influence of multipath interference.

Multi-Objective Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm Based on Effective Area in Cognitive Emergency Communication Networks

Cognitive emergency communication net-works can meet the requirements of large capac-ity,high density and low delay in emergency com-munications.This paper analyzes the properties of emergency users in cognitive emergency communi-cation networks,designs a multi-objective optimiza-tion and proposes a novel multi-objective bacterial foraging optimization algorithm based on effective area(MOBFO-EA)to maximize the transmission rate while maximizing the lifecycle of the network.In the algorithm,the effective area is proposed to prevent the algorithm from falling into a local optimum,and the diversity and uniformity of the Pareto-optimal solu-tions distributed in the effective area are used to eval-uate the optimization algorithm.Then,the dynamic preservation is used to enhance the competitiveness of excellent individuals and the uniformity and diversity of the Pareto-optimal solutions in the effective area.Finally,the adaptive step size,adaptive moving direc-tion and inertial weight are used to shorten the search time of bacteria and accelerate the optimization con-vergence.The simulation results show that the pro-posed MOBFO-EA algorithm improves the efficiency of the Pareto-optimal solutions by approximately 55%compared with the MOPSO algorithm and by approx-imately 60%compared with the MOBFO algorithm and has the fastest and smoothest convergence.

This report analyzes the effective and ineffective communication of Airbnb.First,it presents the mission statement and explains what the mission coveys to the insiders and outsiders of Airbnb.Second,it illustrates corporate culture in the order of the development of Airbnb.Then,using the BCG matrix and customer profile,it outlines how the market is divided and who target populations are.It also describes how to identify and approach stakeholders and considers the use of quantitative data collection methods to position key stakeholders.Besides,it provides different ways of communication to different stakeholders.Nevertheless,some ineffective communications still exist.For them,some recommendations are discussed and concluded.

Relevance Theory-based Cognitive Study on the Communication Effect of “China's Stories”

Telling the story of China and transmitting the voice of China has become a strategy to promote the national image and cultural soft power of China. Since its implementation in 2013, China has ushered in a significant change in communication ideas and approaches. This strategy also enriches the communication genres of "China's stories" and more importantly enhances its communication effect. In this context, it is necessary to understand and study the significance of this strategic practice, assess the value realization of "China's stories" during the communication process, and thereby establish a basis for future communication of more "China's stories." Based on the factors of relevance theory, this paper analyzes the ideas of and approaches to effective communication of "China's stories" and proposes corresponding strategies.

Application Effect of Nurse Patient Communication in Oncology Nursing

Objective:To explore the clinical significance of strengthening nurse patient communication in oncology department.Methods:The study was carried out in our hospital.Taking 100 patients selected from May 2020 to May 2021 as an example,all patients were cancer patients.When they were treated,they cooperated with nursing,carried out grouping experiments,adopted different nursing methods,and compared and analyzed the recovery of patients under different nursing interventions.Results:There were significant differences in nursing satisfaction and compliance between the experimental group and the control group,expressed as P<0.05.In contrast,the experimental group had higher satisfaction,better compliance and better effect.Conclusion:Strengthening nurse patient communication in oncology patients is helpful to improve patients’understanding,improve patients’bad mood and promote patients’compliance.It has positive significance and remarkable effect on patients.

Impact of atmospheric ionization by delayed radiation from highaltitude nuclear explosions on radio communication

In this study,we investigated the motion,shape,and delayed radiation intensity of a radioactive cloud by establishing a volume-source model of delayed radiation after high-altitude nuclear explosions.Then,the spatial distribution of electron number density at different moments on the north side of the explosion point generated by delayed γ-rays and delayed β-rays from the radioactive cloud under the influence of the geomagnetic field was calculated by solving chemical reaction kinetics equations.The impact of radio communication in the different frequency bands on the process of atmospheric ionization was also studied.The numerical results of the high-altitude nuclear explosion (120 km high and with a 1 megaton equivalent at 40°N latitude) indicated that the peak of electron number density ionized delayed γ-rays is located at a height of approximately 100 km and that of electron number density ionized delayed β-rays is about 90 km high.After 1 min of explosion,the radio communication in the medium frequency (MF) and high-frequency (HF)bands was completely interrupted,and the energy attenuation of the radio wave in the very high-frequency (VHF)band was extremely high.Five minutes later,the VHF radio communication was basically restored,but the energy attenuation in the HF band was still high.After 30 min,theVHF radio communication returned to normal,but its influence on the HF and MF radio communication continued.

Altered Expression of Connexin-43 and Impaired Capacity of Gap Junctional Intercellular Communication in Prostate Cancer Cells

Connexin-43 (Cx43) expression in prostate cancer (PCa) cells and the potency of gap junctional intercellular communication (GJIC) in the cells were investigated, with an attempt to elu- cidate the reason why the so-called 'bystander effect' mediated by thymidine kinase (TK) suicide gene therapy on PCa cells is not of significance and to explore the role of GJIC in PCa carcinogenesis. mRNA and protein expression of Cx43 in a PCa cell line PC-3m was detected by re- verse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and strapt-avidin-biotin-enzyme complex (SABC) immunohistochemical staining, and inherent GJIC of PC-3m cells was assayed by scrape-loading and dye transfer (SLDT) assay. The expression of Cx43 in human normal and malig- nant prostate tissues was determined by SABC immunohistochemistry as well. It was found that Cx43 mRNA and protein expression in PC-3m cells was slightly reduced as compared with positive controls and the location of Cx43 protein was aberrant in cytoplasm rather than on membrane. As- sessment of paraffin sections demonstrated that the expression of Cx43 protein in PCa cells was ab- normally located and markedly diminished as compared with normal prostatic epithelial ones, dis- playing a negative correlation to the pathological grade (χ2=4.025, P<0.05). Additionally, capacity of inherent GJIC in PC-3m cells was disrupted, which was semi-quantified as (+) or (-). It was indi- cated that both down-regulated expression of Cx43 mRNA and aberrant location of Cx43 protein par- ticipated in the mechanisms leading to deficient GJIC in PC-3m cells. Lack of efficient GJIC is a molecular event, which may contribute not only to limited extent of 'bystander effect', but also to initiation and progression of prostatic neoplasm.

STUDY ON THE OPTIMIZATION OF TRANSPORT CONTROL POLICY IN COMMUNICATION NETWORK

In communication networks with policy-based Transport Control on-Demand (TCoD) function,the transport control policies play a great impact on the network effectiveness. To evaluate and optimize the transport policies in communication network,a policy-based TCoD network model is given and a comprehensive evaluation index system of the network effectiveness is put forward from both network application and handling mechanism perspectives. A TCoD network prototype system based on Asynchronous Transfer Mode/Multi-Protocol Label Switching (ATM/MPLS) is introduced and some experiments are performed on it. The prototype system is evaluated and analyzed with the comprehensive evaluation index system. The results show that the index system can be used to judge whether the communication network can meet the application requirements or not,and can provide references for the optimization of the transport policies so as to improve the communication network effectiveness.

Primary Analysis of Development Approach to Chinese Satellite Mobile Communication

The paper describes the development of mobile communication first and then points out that it is necessary for China to develop satellite mobile communication after comparing the cellular mobile communication with the satellite mobile communication. After comparing the geostationary satellite system with the low earth orbit satellite mobile communication system, as well as the single-beam system with the multibeams system, both used in satellite mobile communication, we suggest that China, according to its economic status and level of satellite technology, should develop a geostationary multibeam satellite for its domestic mobile communication.
