Workshop Scheduling Based on a Rule-restrained Colored Petri Net and the Development of a Scheduling System on the Internet/Intranet

In the paper, the gap between theoretical research and practical applicationsof workshop scheduling is analyzed. According to practical application requirements, thetraditional Petri net is expanded and a Rule-restrained Colored Petri Net (RCPN) is put forward tomodel workshop activities. Then, the architecture of the workshop scheduling system based on RCPN ispresented. Finally, the scheduling system that adopts a 3 -layer B/S/D mode is developed on theInternet/Intranet by using the Web database and Java.
