English Writing Strategy-Based on Three Steps

Many junior high school students have trouble in writing English composition, and this paper is primarily divided into three steps of pre-writing, while-writing and post-writing to answer the question: How to write a composition.

A Preliminary Study on Strategies to Improve Writing Skills in Lower Grades of Primary School

Teaching writing is an essential component of Chinese education in primary schools and an important foundation for students’reading,writing,and core literacy development.However,due to various reasons,children in the lower grades always face multiple difficulties in the learning task of writing.Based on this educational status quo,this article puts forward strategic suggestions for improving writing skills in the lower grades of primary school.Teachers should analyze students and attend to each student individually,optimize teaching methods,and implement hierarchical teaching.They should also strengthen the training of students’fine motor skills to solidify the physiological foundation for writing.Emphasis should be placed on cultivating the core quality of aesthetic creation.Employing multiple process evaluations can inspire children’s long-term interest in learning.

On the Relationship between Iranian EFL Students’ Writing Strategies and Writing Ability

This study aimed at investigating the relationship between writing strategies,and writing ability of Iranian EFL students.The participants were 120 students learming English in the Iranian EFL context.Data were gathered by means of a writing strategies questionnaire and an IELTS writing task.The results of Pearson correlation test revealed that there was a statistically significant relationship between writing strategies,and writing abilties of the participants.The results have some implications for teaching writing in the EFL context.

A Taxonomy of ESL/EFL Writing Strategies:A Synthesizing Study

Compared with well-established research on language learning strategies in second language acquisition, writing research is still inadequate in terms of studies on taxonomies of specific writing strategies. Therefore, by reviewing and synthesizing empirical studies on writing strategies, this paper tries to map out the theoretical bases of previous taxonomies and to identify inherent methodological problems in past studies, so as to arrive at a better and fuller understanding of the nature and categories of writing strategies and to come up with feasible suggestions for classroom writing instructions.

Fostering Intercultural Communicative Competence in Writing:A Preliminary Study

The deepening of internationalization has promoted intercultural communication.Countries around the world have established education policies on intercultural communication,highlighting the importance of intercultural communicative competence.The paper offers a preliminary study of how to foster learners’intercultural communicative competence in writing.It first elaborates intercultural communicative competence and the factors that cause intercultural communication failures,and then proposes a variety of writing strategies to develop learners’intercultural communicative competence.Suggestions on how to improve English teachers’intercultural communicative competence are also provided.
