Based on the researches of language transfer, contrastive analysis and error analysis, this paper tries to investigate the negative transfer of Chinese on Chinese students'English writings from the perspective of syntax.During one and a half months'teaching practice in Shannxi Hanzhong No.1 Middle School, the author lived through the real teaching process and found that there were lots of problems in students'English writings. The author makes a contrastive study of the different characteristics existing in Chinese and English languag es at the level of syntax, and analyses the typical syntactic errors appearing in the 60 students'English compositions collected from one or dinary class. These syntactic errors are caused by the negative transfer of Chinese. The purpose of the investigation is to study in what pat tern students have been influenced by Chinese in their English writings.Based on the findings and analysis of the mother tongue transfer on English writings, some implications are also provided in order to help minimize or eliminate the interference of negative transfer of the Chinese in students'English writings and improve the teaching and learning of English. 展开更多

Western travel writings about China provided material driving and theoretical guidance for the Age of Discovery, and became the main spiritual motive of the Westerners voyage to the East. In the Age of Discovery, the image of China in the eyes of Western envoys, merchants and missionaries begun to fade away from traditional mythological and psychedelic colors, and the image of cultural elements such as material, spirit and history become clear. These Western travelers tried to shape the image of China as a state of civilization and wisdom, a state of moral order, and a state of wealth and power. On the basis of the continued description of the kingship and wealth of the Middle Ages, they constructed an overall image of China as a powerful state of civilization and wealth, thus forming a new frame of reference for cognition of China. 展开更多

This study investigates the avoidance of relative clauses by high vocational college students and also explores the differences in the avoidance of the RCs by high-level students and low-level students in their English writings. The data used in this study have been collected from English writing tasks and analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Sciences(SPSS17.0). The major findings of this study are stated as follows: 1) There are significant differences in the production of the relative clauses in their English writings by Chinese higher vocational college students and English native speakers. Avoidance of relative clauses exists in the English writings of higher vocational college students. 2) High-level Chinese higher vocational college students display less of the avoidance phenomenon in their English writings than low-level students. 展开更多

The writers of this study are the Countess de Ségur,Louisa May Alcott and Maria Clarice Marinho Villac, from France, the United States and Brazil, respectively. It’s possible to identify a connection in their life trajectories―aristocratic and bourgeois families―and the ability to write their books. These publications address a specific audience, composed of children and young people, especially females. The representation of femininity in the narratives is related to the representation of family and religiosity, since it is up to the family to guide the girls in moral terms and this question is quite highlighted by religion.Analyzing the representation of femininity is due to the fact that the main books of female writers bring female protagonists, who exhibit a rebellious and mischievous behavior, which is observed and guided by adults. The representations of femininity is still valued and legitimized. For this reason, the narratives continue to be published and adapted to other languages, bringing to light these representations that remain until the 21st century in new clothing and updated vocabulary. Some adaptations for the Portuguese will also be analyzed, trying to identify longevity the works of these writers and their meaning in some epochs. 展开更多

After Wang Yangming experienced the revelation of Confucian philosophy at Longchang,he disseminated his heart-mind doctrine by engaging in teaching.A great number of scholars in Guizhou followed him and formed the Qian sub-school of the heartmind philosophy, the earliest of local Yangming sub-schools in the country.roughout the Zhengde and Wanli periods of the Ming dynasty,Yangming scholars and local ocials in favor of the heart-mind philosophy worked in collaboration to collate and print six books of Wang’s works in Guizhou.Among these,A New Supplementary Edition of Master Wang Yangming’s Writings represents the most fruitful e ort by both government ocials(Wang Xing)and local scholars(Chen Wenxue and Ye Wu).As an o print block-carving edition of Wang Yangming’s collections in the early years,it is extremely treasured for its rarity of edition and historical value.e profusion of printing of Wang’s works in Guizhou re ects the wide circulation of his heart-mind doctrines in China’s southwest frontier regions, vividly mirroring the growth of Wang’s philosophy outside cultural centers as well as the complicated history of interactive in uence between Chinese marginal and central cultures. 展开更多

Robot calligraphy visually reflects the motion capability of robotic manipulators. While traditional researches mainly focus on image generation and the writing of simple calligraphic strokes or characters, this article presents a generative adversarial network(GAN)-based motion learning method for robotic calligraphy synthesis(Gan2CS)that can enhance the efficiency in writing complex calligraphy words and reproducing classic calligraphy works. The key technologies in the proposed approach include:(1)adopting the GAN to learn the motion parameters from the robot writing operation;(2)converting the learnt motion data into the style font and realising the transition from static calligraphy images to dynamic writing demonstration;(3)reproducing high-precision calligraphy works by synthesising the writing motion data hierarchically. In this study, the motion trajectories of sample calligraphy images are firstly extracted and converted into the robot module. The robot performs the writing with motion planning, and the writing motion parameters of calligraphy strokes are learnt with GANs.Then the motion data of basic strokes is synthesised based on the hierarchical process of‘stroke-radicalpart-character’.And the robot re-writes the synthesised characters whose similarity with the original calligraphy characters is evaluated.Regular calligraphy characters have been tested in the experiments for method validation and the results validated that the robot can actualise the robotic calligraphy synthesis of writing motion data with GAN. 展开更多

Rehabilitation is a medical discipline which is needed wherever people have lost full functionality, and it is needed increasingly in noncommunicable diseases, such as neurological problems, but also, and perhaps more importantly, in middle- and high-income countries, where populations are growing more aged. The burden is borne by the health care systems, especially where family cannot take the full load of care. Rehabilitation is also a discipline which is carried out most effectively in multi- or interdisciplinary teams, which carry their own weight of learning and group tensions. They are also bound to consider best practice guidelines. Furthermore, there is also a wide gap between learning in college or university and practice in the ward which leads to a loss of confidence in newly trained medical and paramedical personnel such as doctors, nurses, physiatrists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. There is a genuine need for expert rehabilitation specialists who can mediate within teams as well as between groups and patients and their families. This paper lays out the range of considerations such a rehabilitation therapist must have under their belt. A model is presented. There are also two sets of parameters when using the model in practice. The first is the levels at which it works: hospital, departmental and individual. Then there are the specific challenges. Curriculum practice guidelines work at the hospital and departmental and professional levels;teamwork with its intrinsic challenges is of paramount importance;finally, the individuals will learn how to represent their insights in writing, most specifically represented in full-blown case reports. If the levels and roles coordinate, rehabilitation medicine should develop favourably. 展开更多

This study was conducted with non-English sophomore students, aiming to explore the effects of different interaction combinations and language levels on continuous writing in an online environment, and compare the differences in lexical alignments and composition quality of learners with different interaction combinations and language levels in the same continuous writing task through experiments. The results show that the mean values of the word-phrase alignment of the paired group were higher than those of the individual group in different interaction combinations, and the two groups showed significant differences;in terms of composition quality, the individual group was better than the paired group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of task continuation.Secondly, the word-phrase alignment and composition scores of the different language-level groups were higher than those of the same language-level groups, and there was a significant difference between the two groups in terms of word-phrase alignments, but not in terms of composition scores. The results of this study can be useful and informative for second language teachers in future continuous teaching in online environments. 展开更多
