The results showed that yellow sticky trap received the best trapping effect on adult B. odoriphaga, follow by blue and green sticky traps, while cyan and white sticky traps received worse effects. The yellow sticky trap settled at south position was most attractive to adult B. odoriphaga, which had significant differences with tho^e placed at east and north positions (P 〈 0.05 ) ; the yellow sticky trap at hanging height of 0 cm showed significantly higher attractive- ness than those at heights of 20 and 40 cm.展开更多

Therefore, this study aimed to test the use of yellow card traps around the crop to manage insect vectors of viruses and test th...The initial phase of tomato is critical to the infestation of insect vectors of viruses. Therefore, this study aimed to test the use of yellow card traps around the crop to manage insect vectors of viruses and test the best density of traps/tomato plants. Yellow card traps were placed on the border of the crop plot to capture adult insect vectors. Density of trap/tomato plant was assessed in 10 blocks at the following levels: 1/25; 1/50; 1/75; 1/100; 1/125; 1/150. The monitoring was carded out in 1% of the crop during 60 days in 2011 and 2012 crop. The evaluated systems were Conventional and Phytosanitary Pest Management (PPM). During 2011 season the Conventional system received 14 insecticide applications whereas only 6 insecticide applications were made on the PPM, representing a reduction of 133%. In 2012, the crop under Conventional system was subjected to 15 applications of insecticides, over 8 on PPM, with a reduction of 87.5%. The PPM allowed a 90% reduction in application cost for this insects, obtaining a reduction of R$1,345.00/ha. The highest density was 60 plants/trap. We can conclude that the yellow card traps in tomato crop decreased infestations of insect vectors of viruses.展开更多
[Objective] To evaluate the control effect of yellow sticky cards and sex pheromone on Plutella xylostella and Liriomyza spp.,which can provide reference for large area extension of the technique.[Method] The integrat...[Objective] To evaluate the control effect of yellow sticky cards and sex pheromone on Plutella xylostella and Liriomyza spp.,which can provide reference for large area extension of the technique.[Method] The integrated assessment of trapping efficiency of colored sticky cards and sex pheromone on Liriomyza spp.and Plutella xylostella was conducted by field surveys and structured interview in Tonghai County,Yunnan Province,China.[Result] The results showed that yellow sticky cards and sex pheromone have strong power of trapping Liriomyza spp.and Plutella xylostella(3 414±720 and(219±157) head/piece,respectively);the control cost by the usage of pesticide is the highest,(10 099.5±2 752.5) yuan/hm^2,yellow sticky cards and sex pheromone takes the second place,(1 125.0±465.0) yuan/hm^2,the control cost by the usage of yellow sticky cards is the lowest,(450.0 ±186.0)yuan/hm^2.Without the usage of yellow sticky cards and sex pheromone,pesticide application times and costs are(15.0±2.7) times and(12 070.5±2 136.0) yuan/hm^2;combined with usage of yellow sticky cards and sex pheromone,pesticide application times and costs reduce by 5.7 times and 4 618.5 yuan/hm^2.The ratio of trapped beneficial insects and target pests was 1 ∶1 131,which showed that the negative effect of yellow sticky cards and sex pheromone on the non-target insects was very limited.[Conclusion] The trapping approach has become popular among all the local farmers.Looking at the above factors,the trapping technology has strong application prospect and promotion value in pest control field.展开更多
