Three-dimensional Coriolis forcing is introduced to the new core, and full representation of the Coriolis forcing makes it straightforward to share code between the Yin and Yang subdomains. Similar to that in the original GRAPES model, a semi-implicit semi-Lagrangian scheme is adopted for temporal integration and advection with additional arrangement for cross-boundary transport. Under a non-centered second-order temporal and spatial discretization, the dry nonhydrostatic frame is summarized as the solution of an elliptical problem. The resulting Helmholtz equation is solved with the Generalized Conjugate Residual solver in cooperation with the classic Schwarz method. Even though the coefficients of the equation are quite different from those in the original model, the computational procedure of the new core is just the same. The bi-cubic Lagrangian interpolation serves to provide Dirichlet-type boundary conditions with data transfer between the subdomains. The dry core is evaluated with several benchmark test cases, and all the tests display reasonable numerical stability and computing performance. Persistency of the balanced flow and development of both the mountain-induced Rossby wave and Rossby–Haurwitz wave confirms the appropriate installation of the 3D Coriolis terms in the semi-implicit semi-Lagrangian dynamic core on the Yin-Yang grid.展开更多

Flow cytometry and quantitative real-time PCR were used to analyze T-box transcription factor(T-bet) and interferon-γ(IFN-γ) expressions in CD4+ T cells,B cells and monocytes from the peripheral blood of AIH-1 patients including 5-1993 TC and 15-1993 TT genotype carriers, and healthy controls including 10-1993 TC and 25-1993 TT genotype carriers. Furthermore,a range of biochemical indices was measured simultaneously in the blood of AIH-1 patients.RESULTS TBX21-1993 C allele created a strong Yin-Yang 1(YY1)-binding site and decreased transcriptional activity of TBX21 promoter in human CD4+ T and B cells.Higher levels of T-bet and IFN-γ were detected in the circulating CD4+ T cells and B cells of AIH-1 patients carrying the TBX21-1993 TT genotype compared with the patients carrying the-1993 TC genotype and controls with the-1993 TC genotype. T-bet expression levels of circulating T cells and B cells were positively correlated with AIH-1 disease activity. Knockdown of YY1 with si RNA caused increased expression of T-bet and IFN-γ in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in AIH-1 patients. CONCLUSION The repression of TBX21 expression by high-affinity binding of YY1 to the-1993 C allele may contribute to a decreased development of AIH-1 via suppression of type 1 immunity.展开更多

The MCV scheme defines 16 degrees of freedom (DOFs) within each element to build a 2D cubic reconstruction polynomial. The time evolution equations for DOFs are derived from constraint conditions on moments of line-integrated averages (LIA), point values (PV), and values of first-order derivatives (DV). The Yin-Yang grid eliminates polar singularities and results in a quasi-uniform mesh. A limiting projection is designed to remove nonphysical oscillations around discontinuities. Our model was tested against widely used benchmarks; the competitive results reveal that the model is accurate and promising for developing general circulation models.展开更多

The Yin-Yang grid is a newly developed grid system in spherical geometry with two perpendicularly-oriented latitude-longitude grid components (called Yin and Yang respectively) that overlapp each other, and this effectively avoids the coordinate singularity and the grid convergence near the poles. In this overset grid, the way of transferring data between the Yin and Yang components is the key to maintaining the accuracy and robustness in numerical solutions. A numerical interpolation for boundary data exchange, which maintains the accuracy of the original advection scheme and is computationally efficient, is given in this paper. A standard test of the solid-body advection proposed by Williamson is carried out on the Yin-Yang grid. Numerical results show that the quasi-uniform Yin-Yang grid can get around the problems near the poles, and the numerical accuracy in the original semi-Lagrangian scheme is effectively maintained in the Yin-Yang grid.展开更多

In the past decade, research has mostly focused on the Yang aspect of erectile function. However, in recent years, the Yin side is attracting increasingly greater attention. This is due to the realization that penile flaccidity is no less important than penile erection and is actively maintained by mechanisms that play critical roles in certain types of erectile dysfunction (ED); for example, in diabetic patients. In addition, there is evidence that the Yin and Yang signaling pathways interact with each other during the transition from flaccidity to erection, and vice versa. As such, it is important that we view erectile function from not only the Yang but also the Yin side. The purpose of this article is to review recent advances in the understanding of the molecular mechanisms that regulate the Yin and Yang of the penis. Emphasis is given to the Rho kinase signaling pathway that regulates the Yin, and to the cyclic nucleotide signaling pathway that regulates the Yang. Discussion is organized in such a way so as to follow the signaling cascade, that is, beginning with the extracellular signaling molecules (e.g., norepinephrin and nitric oxide) and their receptors, converging onto the intracellular effectors (e.g., Rho kinase and protein kinase G), branching into secondary effectors, and finishing with contractile molecules and phosphodiesterases. Interactions between the Yin and Yang signaling pathways are discussed as well.展开更多

文摘The traditional way of thinking about women in ancient Chinese philosophy was grounded on the concepts of Yin and Yang.Yin and Yang are the basic principles of the being, the interrelation and interaction between which provide the original force for the emergence of all beings in the world. In the traditional family construction, men as Yang master the affairs outside the family, and women as Yin master the affairs inside the family(男主外,女主内),which means that women normally had no voice in the social affairs. Her field was limited inside the family.Furthermore, according to Confucian doctrine“husband guides wife”(夫为妻纲),husband is the decision maker of a family,as a king in a state. The prejudice against woman has persisted to the present. This paper will show that within the Confucian tradition, the ontological principles of Yin and Yang have been abused to a certain degree, and women became the sacrifice of the interpretation with this prejudice. The author will argue in this paper, that the Yin-yang principle itself is very flexible. It contains much richer possibilities of interpretation than that had been interpreted in the Confucian tradition. The author’s argument is that if we recognized that each person is a complete Yin-Yang system,we would understand that every human being is a complete and independent person with both virtues of Yin and Yang.Yin is not a substance which restricts women, neither Yang to men. From this perspective, every woman has the potentiality to reach her universality and individuality. The author’s claim is that in building feminism with the resource of ancient Chinese thought, the concepts of Yin and Yang can be revived and given a new life if we think about them in a functional way.In this framework,Yin and Yang are correlative functions in social and family operation. The properties of Yin and Yang are determined only in each particular affair.People practicing functions are Yin or Yang in temporality.

文摘This paper introduces creativity, one of the significant features in maths. The creative mathematical beauty of symmetry and asymmetry are worth investigating in the practicing of Taichi.Symmetrical variances make the real world.Symmetry can be regarded as a kind of mirroring, like the line symmetry, the mirror image of the other parts,or rotational symmetry.Such characteristics can be vividly demonstrated in the traditional Chinese philosophical yin-yang theory(YY).The accompanying of male and female reveals the friendly cooperative relationship.YY reflects the counterparts of vacancy and firm, inhale and exhale, noun and verb, theory and practice, light and heavy, slow and fast, the pace, the sound effect in the classroom.Such an analysis is undergone about yin and yang in Yi School and Dao De Ching(DDC).Furthermore, there are detailed arguments of the symmetric nature of every verse of DDC,revealing the cultural value of the language.Their applications in the class admit the recognition under the new liberal arts project by China’s Ministry of Education.Yet,the integration of research and teaching is required to go further.
文摘The writings and artistic works of Antoni Tàpies(2009;2011)mirror the influences of the cosmic vision of the Chinese yin-yang.Signs,numbers,and creative procedures related to this correlative thought prevail in his art.Tàpies integrated different iconological codes from the ancient Chinese thinking into his art to question the existential meaning of the universe and to express his thoughts on the cultural and socio-political controversies of his time.In other words, the images, media, and techniques that he utilized for his works were extensions of his life experiences intertwined with various socio-historical facts and his personal feelings.

文摘A Lovely Place(2019)is a collection of the Norwegian writer Kjell Askildsen’s short stories that is translated from German into Chinese by Yang Zhizi. It contains 18 short stories, whose male characters are mainly analyzed by researchers. The paper argues that female characters are playing an indispensable role in compensating the males’life stories and enlightening their worldviews according to Chinese Yin-Yang theory. The females can be classified into the following three groups in terms of their important relations to the males.Firstly, the female is the male’s companion in a certain part of the latter’s life.Secondly, the female facilitates the male’s intellectual growth either spontaneously or purposefully.Thirdly, the female struggles for independence to set an example for the male. The female characters in A Lovely Place present such femininity as beauty, energy, nostalgia, sentimentality, motherhood, etc.,stimulate the males to reflect on their own identities and fulfill their muscularity, and function as the genuine protagonists in the collection as far as the gender relations are concerned.

文摘This essay will review the earliest case that documents a patient’s experience of qi,one found on a bamboo text buried with the patient who died in the 318 BCE.Details of the healing encounter and of concepts of illness show how non-transmitted documents hidden from later editors in tombs preserve an older layer of medical understanding than that in transmitted canons, such as the Huang Di Nei Jing(Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor). The 4th-century BCE case record described below is the longest early medical record concerning the treatment of a specific individual. It is also an account of failure formally recorded for the sake of the survivors and buried with the dead to be transmitted to the world of the spirits. The essay begins with a reevaluation of ancient concept of qi and then moves on to the individual case record.

文摘Understanding the in vivo transport process provides guidelines for designing ideal nanoparticles(NPs)with higher efficacy and fewer off-target effects. Many factors, such as particle size, morphology, surface potential, structural stability, and etc.,may influence the delivering process of NPs due to the existence of various physiological barriers within the body.Herein,we summarise the distinct influences of NP physicochemical properties on the four consecutive in vivo transport steps:(1)navigating with bloodstream within blood vessels,(2)transport across vasculature walls into tumour tissues,(3)intratumoural transport through the interstitial space,and(4)cellular uptake&intracellular delivery by cancerous cells. We found that the philosophy behind the current consensus for NP design has certain similarities to the“Yin-Yang”theory in traditional Chinese culture.Almost all physicochemical properties, regardless of big or small sizes, long or short length, positive or negative zeta potentials, are double-edged swords. The balance of potential benefits and side effects, drug selectivity and accessibility should be fully considered when optimising particle design, similar to the“Yin-Yang harmony”.This paper presents a comprehensive review of the advancements in NPs research, focusing on their distinct features in tumour targeting, drug delivery, and cell uptake.Additionally,it deliberates on future developmental trends and potential obstacles, thereby aiming to uncover the ways these characteristics influence the NPs’biological activity and provide theoretical guidance for the targeted delivery of NPs.

文摘The semi-Lagrangian advection scheme is implemented on a new quasi-uniform overset (Yin-Yang) grid on the sphere. Numerical results show that the quasi-uniform Yin-Yang grid can get around the problems near the poles, and the numerical accuracy in the original semi-Lagrangian scheme is effectively maintained in the Yin-Yang grid.
文摘In regard to erectile function, Yin is flaccidity and Yang erection. Interactions between the Yin and Yang signaling pathways are discussed as well.

文摘Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases is an ancient guideline for traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) clinicians which classified all diseases into six meridians. In Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases, many syndromes are enunciated in simple vocabularies without physiology and pathology, which is always criticized. It seems that a bridge is necessary for physiological and pathological understanding on Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases. In past decade, two definition of life in cell and in our body are presented respectively. In both definitions, energy conversion is the core pathways for all organisms which can be regarded as motion of qi.Moreover, metabolism of energy agents can be seen as yang while gene expression and stem cell proliferation & differentiation(SCPD) should be seen as yin in cell and in our body respectively. The both definitions also outline the physiology and pathology of six meridians in Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases, which can be unveiled as followings: taiyang meridian-elimination of energy and end metabolites;yangming meridian-acquiring energy agents;shaoyin meridian-the conversions of energy agents;taiyin meridian-new born somatic cell attending the metabolism of energy agents and then going to die;shaoyin meridian-storage and activity of stem cell;jueyin meridian-proliferation & differentiation of stem cell to produce somatic cell. These definitions will ignite new physiological and pathological understandings on Treatise on Cold Pathogenic Diseases.
