The influence of intestine-based treatment using Xuan Bai Cheng Qi Tang on the concentration of trace elements in the main organs of COPD rats

Objective:To test two theories from traditional Chinese medicine:'exterior -interior relationship between the lung and large intestine' and 'treating from the intestine principle for lung disorders'.The influence of intestine-based treatment using Xuan Bai Cheng Qi Tang (XBCQT) on the concentration of three trace elements-copper (Cu),zinc (Zn),and manganese (Mn)-was observed in the tissues of the lung,small intestine,large intestine,and stomach of rats suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods:Thirty-five male Wistar rats were divided randomly and equally into five groups:control;model;Fei treatment (A);Chang treatment (B);and Fei-Chang treatment (C).A rat model of COPD was prepared by tracheal injection of lipopolysaccharide plus exposure to cigarette smoke.Treatments with medicinal herbs started day-22 of administration and exposure to cigarette smoke for 7 days.The control group and model group were administered physiologic (0.9%) saline solution via the stomach.After 7 days of intervention,the tissues of the lung,small intestine,large intestine,and stomach were removed.Inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy was used to detect the levels of Cu,Zn,and Mn in those tissues.Results:Compared with the control group,the Cu concentration in the tissues of the small intestine,large intestine,and stomach increased significantly in the model group (P <.05);the Mn concentration in the tissues of the lung,large intestine,and stomach increased significantly in the model group (P <.05);the Zn concentration in the tissues of the lung and large intestine decreased significantly in the model group (P <.05).In comparison of the model group:the Cu concentration in the tissues of the lung and large intestine decreased significantly in the B group (P <.05);the Mn concentration in the tissues of the lung,small intestine,and large intestine decreased significantly in the B group (P <.05);the Zn concentration in the tissues of the lung,small intestine,and large intestine increased significantly in the B group (P <.05).For the A group versus C group comparison,the Zn concentration in the tissues of the small intestine and stomach increased significantly in the latter (P <.05).Conclusion:This study showed that 'treating from the intestine' using Xuan Bai Cheng Qi Tang and its modified formulae can regulate the concentration of trace elements in the main organs of COPD rats.This may be one of the mechanisms for intestine-based treatment for COPD.

Memory and Aesthetics： Study of Musical Quotations in Ives’s and Crumb’s Music

Throughout Western music history, pre-existing material has long been the aesthetic core of a new composition. Yet there has never been such an epoch as our time in which using pre-existing material, melodic quotation in particular, features so extensively in works of many of the composers. The aim of this paper is to investigate how the use of quoted tunes in a musical piece operates in an interwoven complex where time and space are of the essence. A quote is able to oscillate perpetually between one’s mental worlds of the memorable past and the imaginative present when it is highlighted enough to be recognizable from its surrounding context. Upon interpreting the use of quotation in various contexts, the aesthetic object, I argue, is the shift from original to quoted music, and vice versa. And listeners can respond aesthetically to the quotation itself even without knowledge of its provenance and textual or referential content.

Effect of combined therapy of Yinchenhao Chengqi decoction and endoscopic sphincterotomy for endotoxemia in acute cholangitis

AIM To evaluate the therapeutic mechanism of Yinchenhao Chengqi (YCHCQ) decoction (containing mainly Herba Artemisia capillaris) combined with endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) for endotoxemia (ETM) in acute cholangitis.METHODS Twenty-one cases of acute cholangitis with ETM were divided randomly into two groups: group A, 10 patients treated with YCHCQ decoction combined with EST, group B, 11 patients treated with EST. The incidence rate of ETM, plasmic ET, serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, malonyldialdehyde (MDA), complement C3 and C-reactive protein (CRP) were studied respectively.RESULTS The ET level of group A (35.92ng/L±8.30ng/L) was significantly reduced after 7 days of treatment (P＜0.05) in contrast to that of group B (47.8ng/L±11.62ng/L), so did the level of MDA and CRP. But the SOD activity and C3 level in group A increased significantly (P＜0.05).CONCLUSION YCHCQ decoction combined with EST had a beneficial effect for ETM in acute cholangitis.INTRODUCTIONEndotoxemia (ETM) is one of the most important physiopathologic causes of acute cholangitis and it is the trigger of cytokines and inflammatory factors. In recent studies it has been found that Yinchenhao Chengqi (YCHCQ) decoction has a beneficial effect on ETM in acute cholangitis. With the development of endoscopic surgery, endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) has become an effective replacement for some operations in the treatment of acute cholangitis[1]. The effect of YCHCQ decoction combined with EST on ET, oxygen free radical and complement C3 was observed in order to find out its therapeutic mechanism.

目的:采用薄层扫描法测定金银花中黄褐毛忍冬皂苷甲的含量。方法:硅胶 G 薄层板,展开剂:氯仿-甲醇-水(61∶32∶5),显色:10%硫酸乙醇溶液喷雾,105℃烘烤约5min,双波长锯齿扫描,检测波长518nm,参比波长700nm。结果:黄褐毛忍冬皂苷甲的线性范围为1.20～7.20μg,r=0.998。平均回收率为99.76%,RSD 为2.45%。结论:用于金银花中皂苷类成分的分析,本法简便、快速,重现性好。

基于元曲作品中丝织显花事象的技艺辨析研究

元曲作品中多见涉及丝织显花技艺事象,系通过戏曲文学艺术形式反映传统手工丝织事物的文化现象,也是纺织史料的一种保存和呈现形态。采用“曲史互证”的方法,对元曲中有代表性的丝织显花技艺事象开展辨析。研究认为,元曲呈现的提花织造事象与现实中的丝织显花工艺及其织品存在一定的对应关系。元曲“妆花”和“妆金”相关事象提示出后世相关丝织品名称的渊源。元曲“织成”和“缂丝”相关事象所反映的工艺特征和用途符合实际。元曲中“改机”相关事象虽与明代记载不同,但是提示出元代民间衣料加工的常见方法。元曲作品中丝织显花技艺相关事象多由剧曲作者根据现实的丝织工艺特征和产品特点赋予意象性的艺术表达,对后世专门术语的形成不无启发作用,又通过元曲在民间的广泛传播获得流传和认同。

A Glimpse of Hong Kong ＂Chineseness＂： Pre-existing Tunes as the Redemption of a Cultural Identity

When the umbrellas were held up against the tear gas attack in the protest on September 28, 2014, the hot issue raised by the marathon-like Yellow Umbrella Movement was not only the matter of politics but also a coincidence created for the Hong Kong locals to face, or to be faced with an already moot cliche： How the Hongkongese can redef＇me and redeem their almost lost socio-cultural identity, particularly under the increasingly hegemonic influences and the socio-cultural invasion of the mainland after the 1997 Handover. My present paper is not intended to discuss the topic of identity on the platform of politics, or the postcolonial studies such as transculturation or cultural hybridty. But instead, I am far more interested in locating such issue on the aesthetic dimension of collective memory, which is revealed in two local contemporary Hong Kong compositions. In the process of shaping and reshaping a form of＂HongKongeseness＂ in which the composers tend to create and the local listeners tend to experience, albeit transient, can appear in every nuance of the sonic metaphor embedded in the pre-existing indigenous tunes of a self-contained compositional work.

Professor Yuan Cheng (Bert) Fung:My Respected Mentor and Cherished Friend

On September 14,2008,Drs.Shu Chien,Peter Chen,Geert Schmid-Schonbein,Pin Tong and I had the great pleasure of organizing a beautiful event in San Diego,California to celebration Dr.Fung’s 90thbirthday with his students,friends and family[1].The team gave me the honor and privilege to be the banquet speaker.I titled my speech as“Dr.Fung:My Respected Mentor and Cherished Friend”-something for those of you who have known Dr.Fung well can“resonate”.Still,I would like to take this opportunity to share with you an excerpt of the story I told about this great gentle man.

Professor Cheng Lan's Experience in Treating Endometriosis

Endometriosis is one of the refractory and common disease in gynaecology, which the main manifestations are dysmenorrhea and infertility. Professor Cheng considers it's the deficiency-excess mixing illness whose pathological base is blood stasis and root is the deficiency of Yin and Yang, Qi and blood. So in terms of treatment, Professor Cheng praises highly the way of strengthening the body resistance to eliminate pathogenic factors. Strengthening the body resistance and expelling evil at the same time can achieve the purpose of treatment. In the adjustment of Yin and Yang ,Qi and blood, Professor Cheng attaches importance to treating middle burner. On the treatment of dysmenorrhea, Professor Cheng is able to capture xuefu zhuyu decoction and bazhen decoction and pays attention to menstrual cycle therapy. In addition, Professor Cheng often uses jingui wenjing decoction for infertility and re-understands the decoction by meridians theory and circular motion theory. Furthermore, Professor Cheng's treatment in reserving follicle, promoting ovulation and developing follicle is distinctive by traditional Chinese medicine.

审计师跨层次执业与审计意见决策——基于我国多层次资本市场的证据

基于我国多层次资本市场的差异化制度场景,探讨审计师于同一年度在多个层次资本市场的执业行为(即跨层次执业)对其在新三板市场审计意见决策的影响。基于2014—2019年间新三板公司的数据,研究发现:跨层次执业的审计师为新三板客户出具非标准审计意见的概率显著低于新三板市场其他企业;机制检验表明,跨层次执业主要通过抑制审计师的投入,即降低执业效率、阻碍信息沟通、缩减行业知识投入,进而对审计意见决策产生负面影响。进一步从“事务所-审计师”资源配置及其他经济后果等视角开展分析,丰富了个体审计师决策形成机制的相关文献,也从制度优化角度为未来的资本市场统一审计监管提供了参考。

基于癌毒病机理论辨治乳腺癌肝转移

The potential motivational values of English proverbs and quotations in Chinese EFL tea ching

Although English proverbs and quotations are quite popular with language teachers and learners, and although there are sizeable body of research addressing the various aspects of English proverbs and quotations, their potential motivational values lacks theoretical support to date. This paper intends to explore the theoretical rationales for English proverbs and quotations to be a valuable tool for inspiring teachers and textbooks in Chinese EFL teaching. Based on QIN and WEN＇s conceptual model of motivation （2002） as well as teacher-specific and group-specific motivational theories, it analyzes the potential uses of English proverbs and quotations, with the conclusion that many English proverbs and quotations may serve to be an impetus as well as affective/cognitive mediators in the pre-actional and actional stages of learning, and may help to promote teacher-specific and group-specific motivational dynamics, which in turn benefit student achievement.

大承气汤治疗重症急性胰腺炎的效果观察及护理

目的观察大承气汤治疗重症急性胰腺炎的疗效及总结护理方法。方法对40例重症急性胰腺炎病人随机分为对照组18例,采用基本支持疗法,治疗组22例,在基本支持疗法的基础上,给予大承气汤口服及对症施护。结果治疗组治疗总有效率达90.9%,对照组总有效率为77.8%,两组比较,P<0.01,差异有统计学意义;治疗组病人肠功能恢复、腹水的吸收较快,并发症及死亡率减少,住院日也明显缩短。结论在治疗重症急性胰炎过程中,配合使用大承气汤治疗及对症施护,能降低病人并发症及死亡率。

秦“道”制起源新论

战国时期,秦国在统一进程中,根据被征服地区的顺逆程度,对新征服的非秦族群地区采取置郡县直辖和设立附属臣邦两种模式。秦属臣邦在保留原有“王侯君长”的同时,设置官员进行监督导化,秦“道”制即起源于臣邦中的“道官”系统,并在臣邦秦制化的过程中得到完善,发展为管理非华夏族群地区的与县平级的地方行政机构。从秦简文与封泥材料看,“道”即“導”,“道”制本意就是导化蛮夷,与交通道路无关。臣邦与“道”的主官为“丞”,意为辅佐,隐含“導”义,与县、都官主官称呼有别。

“语录不可阑入古文”说的生成及现代省思

唐宋以降,禅宗语录和儒家语录大行于世,流风所及,许多文士在古文写作中也自觉或不自觉地效仿语录形式,或者掺入语录中的常见用语。这种做法相当普遍,但也有不少反对的声音。迄至清代前中期,“语录不可阑入古文”成为一种集体认同。在此过程中,方苞个人思想和文学实践所起的推动作用不容忽视。这一古文观念对于端正学风、维护古文体性、推动清代古文发展起到了积极作用,但它有绝对化的倾向,因而又有其局限性。古文发展的事实证明,在合适的场合适当借鉴、采用语录形式,不仅不会伤害古文之体,相反会给古文的表达带来别样的趣味和效果。

明代江西宗族祠祭祖先的扩展

明代宗族祠祭祖先盛于江西,且有一个扩展过程。明前期祠祭祖先的事例集中于吉安府,家祠、宗祠均有。家祠也见于南昌府丰城县、饶州府浮梁县,宗祠则有抚州府的事例。明中期吉安府士大夫热衷于讨论祠祭祖先的制度、古礼与现实,南昌府、抚州府也有祠祭祖先的事例。明后期士大夫有关始祖、龛位的讨论在加强,一般认同于程颐祭祀始祖的主张,民间将祠祭祖先理解为士庶通行之制,宗祠在民间普及迅速。吉安府祠祭祖先事例丰富,此外还有广昌府的著名个案以及南安府、饶州府、抚州府、南昌府的事例。明代江西著名士大夫杨士奇、王直、罗伦、罗钦顺、罗洪先等人,对祠祭祖先问题均提出自己的看法。
