Tow different computer calculation methods for distortion of the wide-band diode bridge track and hold amplifier (THA) are presented based on a high frequency Schottky diode model. One of the computer programs calculates the distortion of weekly nonlinear THA based on the KCL and the nonlinear-current method. The other calculates the weekly nonlinear distortion by using a Volterra series method and a nodal formulation. Comparative calculation results for the diode bridge THA have shown good agreement with these two computer program calculation methods, whereas the overall computational efficiency of the nonlinear-current method is better than that of the nodal formulation method in a special evaluation. 展开更多

This article presents the investigation on very thin Lanthanum Fluoride (LaF3) layer as a new cathode buffer layer (CBL) for organic solar cell (OSC). OSCs were fabricated with poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) polymer blend at 1:1 ratio. Electron-beam evaporation at room temperature was used to deposit 3 and 5 nm thick LaF3 layer. A very smooth surface of LaF3 with an average roughness of 0.2 nm has been observed by the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) that is expected to prevent diffusion of cathode metal ion through it and thereby enhance the lifetime and stability of OSC. Huge enhancement of JSC and VOC was also observed for 3 nm-thick LaF3 CBL. Several excellent features of the LaF3 layer such as, transporting electron through tunneling, blocking of holes to the cathode, minimizing recombination, protecting the photoactive polymer from ambient oxygen, and reducing degradation/oxidation of any low work function layer at the cathode interface, might have contributed to the performance enhancement of OSC. The experimental findings indicate the promise of LaF3 to be an excellent CBL material for OSC. 展开更多

A new design technique employing CMOS Current Feedback Operational Amplifier (CFOA) is presented. This design approach applies CFA OTA as input stage cascaded with class AB cross-coupled buffer stage. The performance parameters of CMOS CFOA such as bandwidth, slew rate, settling time are extensively improved compared with conventional CFOA. These parameters are very important in high frequency applications that use CMOS CFOA as an active building block such as A/D converters, and active filters. Also the DC input offset voltage and harmonic distortion (HD) are very low values compared with the conventional CMOS CFOA are obtained. P-Spice simulation results using 0.35 μm MI-ETEC CMOS process parameters shows considerable improvement over existing CMOS CFOA simulated model. Some of the performance parameters for example are DC gain of 67.2 dB, open-loop gain bandwidth product of 104 MHz, slew rate (SR+) of +91.3 V/μS, THD of -67 dB and DC input offset voltage of -0.2 mV. 展开更多

Its noisefigure is less-than 1.9dB with an associated gain larger than 27dB and an input/output VSWRless than 1.4 in the frequency range of 11.7-12.2GHz. The HEMT and the microwave series in-ductance feedback technique are used in the first stage of the amplifier, and a Ku-band MMIC isemployed in the last stage. The key to this design is to achieve an optimum noise match and a min-imum input VSWR matching simultaneously by using the microwave series inductance feedbackmethod. This study explored the performances of CZTS-based thin-film solar cell with three novel buffer layer materials ZnS, CdS, and CdZnS, as well as with variation in thickness of buffer and absorber-layer, doping concentrations of absorber-layer material and operating temperature. Our aims focused to identify the most optimal thin-film solar cell structure that offers high efficiency and lower toxicity which are desirable for sustainable and eco-friendly energy sources globally. SCAPS-1D, widely used software for modeling and simulating solar cells, has been used and solar cell fundamental performance parameters such as open-circuited voltage (), short-circuited current density (), fill-factor() and efficiency() have been optimized in this study. Based on our simulation results, it was found that CZTS solar cell with Cd<sub>0.4</sub>Zn<sub>0.6</sub>S as buffer-layer offers the most optimal combination of high efficiency and lower toxicity in comparison to other structure investigated in our study. Although the efficiency of Cd<sub>0.4</sub>Zn<sub>0.6</sub>S, ZnS and CdS are comparable, Cd<sub>0.4</sub>Zn<sub>0.6</sub>S is preferable to use as buffer-layer for its non-toxic property. In addition, evaluation of performance as a function of buffer-layer thickness for Cd<sub>0.4</sub>Zn<sub>0.6</sub>S, ZnS and CdS showed that optimum buffer-layer thickness for Cd<sub>0.4</sub>Zn<sub>0.6</sub>S was in the range from 50 to 150nm while ZnS offered only 50 – 75 nm. Furthermore, the temperature dependence performance parameters evaluation revealed that it is better to operate solar cell at temperature 290K for stable operation with optimum performances. This study would provide valuable insights into design and optimization of nanotechnology-based solar energy technology for minimizing global energy crisis and developing eco-friendly energy sources sustainable and simultaneously. 展开更多

In this paper,a simple adaptive power dividing function for the design of a dual-input Doherty power amplifier(DPA)is presented.In the presented approaches,the signal separation function(SSF)at different frequency points can be characterized by a polynomial.And in the practical test,the coefficients of SSF can be determined by measuring a small number of data points of input power.Same as other dualinput DPAs,the proposed approach can also achieve high output power and back-off efficiency in a broadband operation band by adjusting the power distribution ratio flexibly.Finally,a 1.5-2.5 GHz highefficiency dual-input Doherty power amplifier is implemented according to this approach.The test results show that the peak power is 48.6-49.7d Bm,and the 6-d B back-off efficiency is 51.0-67.0%,and the saturation efficiency is 52.4-74.6%.The digital predistortion correction is carried out at the frequency points of 1.8/2.1GHz,and the adjacent channel power ratio is lower than-54.5d Bc.Simulation and experiment results can verify the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method. 展开更多

An innovative metallic buffer consisting of series-connected hat-shaped entangled wire mesh damper(EWMD)and parallel springs are proposed in this work to enhance the reliability of engineering equipment.The impact response and the energy dissipation mechanism of hat-shaped EWMD under different quasi-static compression deformations(2-7 mm)and impact heights(100-200 mm)are investigated using experimental and numerical methods.The results demonstrate distinct stages in the quasi-static mechanical characteristics of hat-shaped EWMD,including stiffness softening,negative stiffness,and stiffness hardening.The loss factor gradually increases with increasing compression deformation before entering the stiffness hardening stage.Under impact loads,the hat-shaped EWMD exhibits optimal impact energy absorption when it enters the negative stiffness stage(150 mm),resulting in the best impact isolation effect of metallic buffer.However,the impact energy absorption significantly decreases when hat-shaped EWMD enters the stiffness hardening stage.Interestingly,quasi-static compression analysis after experiencing different impact loads reveals the disappearance of the negative stiffness phenomenon.Moreover,with increasing impact loads,the stiffness hardening point progressively shifts to an earlier stage. 展开更多

Irrigation and Thermal Buffering Using Mathematical Modeling

Two methods of irrigation,drip,and sprinkler were studied to determine the response of the Javits green roof to irrigation.The control study was dry unirrigated plots.Drip irrigation consisted of irrigation tubes running through the green roof that would water the soil throughout and sprinkler irrigation used a sprinkler system to irrigate the green roof from above.In all cases,the irrigated roofs had increased the soil moisture,reduced temperatures of both the upper and lower surfaces,reduced growing medium temperatures and reduced air temperatures above the green roof relative to the unirrigated roof.The buffered temperature fluctuations were also studied via air conditioner energy consumption.There was a 28%reduction in air conditioner energy consumption and a 33%reduction in overall energy consumption between dry and irrigated plots.Values of thermal resistance or S were determined for accuracy and for this study,there was little change which is ideal.A series of infra-red and thermal probe measurements were used to determine temperatures in the air and sedum.It was determined that the sprinkler irrigation did a better job than the drip irrigation in keeping cooler temperatures within the green roof.A Mann-Whitney U test was performed to verify the variation in moisture temperatures buffering energy consumption.By getting a p-value<0.05,it indicates that the model is accurate for prediction and medium temperatures were statistically different. 展开更多

In this paper,a hybrid integrated broadband Doherty power amplifier(DPA)based on a multi-chip module(MCM),whose active devices are fabricated using the gallium nitride(GaN)process and whose passive circuits are fabricated using the gallium arsenide(GaAs)integrated passive device(IPD)process,is proposed for 5G massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)application.An inverted DPA structure with a low-Q output network is proposed to achieve better bandwidth performance,and a single-driver architecture is adopted for a chip with high gain and small area.The proposed DPA has a bandwidth of 4.4-5.0 GHz that can achieve a saturation of more than 45.0 dBm.The gain compression from 37 dBm to saturation power is less than 4 dB,and the average power-added efficiency(PAE)is 36.3%with an 8.5 dB peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR)in 4.5-5.0 GHz.The measured adjacent channel power ratio(ACPR)is better than50 dBc after digital predistortion(DPD),exhibiting satisfactory linearity. 展开更多

IEEE 802.11ax,which is an emerging WLAN standard,aims at providing highly efficient communication in ultra-dense wireless networks.However,due to a large number of stations(STAs)in the ultra-dense device deployment scenarios,the potentially high packet collision rate significantly decreases the communication efficiency of WLAN.In this paper,we propose an adaptive STA grouping scheme to overcome this dense network challenge in IEEE 802.11ax by using Buffer State Report(BSR)based Two-stage Mechanism(BTM).In order to achieve the optimal efficiency of BSR delivery,we analyze the functional relationship between STA number in group and Resource Unit(RU)efficiency.Based on this analysis results,an adaptive STA grouping algorithm with variable group size is proposed to achieve efficient grouping in BTM.The numerical results demonstrate that the proposed adaptive BTM grouping algorithm significantly improves the BSR delivery efficiency and the throughput of overall system and each STA in the ultra-dense wireless network. 展开更多

根据模糊数学和多元统计分析原理,建立了一个定量的耕地定级方法,并以湖北省鄂州市进行了实例说明,从而为该地区耕地的合理利用与管理提供依据,有利于实现耕地资源的信息共享和城乡土地市场一体化的建立。首先采用灰色关联分析法筛选定... 根据模糊数学和多元统计分析原理,建立了一个定量的耕地定级方法,并以湖北省鄂州市进行了实例说明,从而为该地区耕地的合理利用与管理提供依据,有利于实现耕地资源的信息共享和城乡土地市场一体化的建立。首先采用灰色关联分析法筛选定级因子,层次分析法确定相应的权系数;矢量化相关图层并提取农贸中心和道路作缓冲区分析后,采用多边形法确定耕地评价单元;通过采用不同的分值函数对因子属性值进行标准化;最后采用综合指数模型计算定级指数并根据聚类分析法将鄂州市耕地划分为5级,利用ArcGIS实现定级结果图的输出。定级结果表明:鄂州市耕地质量中等偏上,以二、三级地为主,共占74.78%,该评价结果基本符合实际,同时利用GIS引入缓冲区分析方法来获取部分评价因子数据,提高了评价结果的准确性。 展开更多

A 0.4 V Bulk-Driven Amplifier for Low-Power Data Converter Applications

This paper presents the design of an ultra low-voltage (ULV) pseudo operational transconductance amplifier (P-OTA) that is able to operate with a single supply voltage as low as 0.4 V. The proposed circuit is based on the bulk-driven technique and use of cross-coupled self-cascode pairs that boosts the differential DC gain. The stability condition of this structure for the DC gain is considered by definition of two coefficients to cancel out a controllable percentage of the denominator. This expression for stability condition yield optimized value for the DC gain. Also, as the principle of operation of the proposed technique relies on matching conditions, Monte Carlo analyzes are considered to study of the behavior of the proposed circuit against mismatches. The designed P-OTA have a DC gain of 64 dB, 212 KHz unity gain bandwidth, 57phase margin that is loaded by 10 pF differential capacitive loads, while consume only 16 μW. Eventually, from the proposed P-OTA, a low-power Sample and Hold (S/H) circuit with sampling frequency of 10 KS/s has been designed and simulated. The correct functionality for this configuration is verified from –30℃ to 70℃. The simulated data presented is obtained using the HSPICE Environment and is valid for the 90 nm triple-well CMOS process. 展开更多

This research paper contains a new electronically tunable current-mode biquadratic universal filter using a new active building block;current controlled differential difference current conveyor transconductance amplifier (CCDDCCTA). The proposed filter provides the following important and desirable features: (i) One can use only one CCDDCCTA and two capacitors;(ii) One can get low pass (LP), band pass (BP), high pass (HP), notch (NF) and all pass (AP) current responses from the same configuration without any alteration;(iii) Passive components are grounded, which ease the integrated circuit implementation;(iv) Responses are electronically tunable;and (v) Sensitivity is low. Moreover, the non-ideality analysis shows that the parasitic passive components can be compensated for the proposed circuit. The functionality of the design is verified through SPICE simulations using 0.25 μm CMOS TSMC technology process parameters. Simulation result agrees well with the theoretical analysis. 展开更多

The liver is considered a vital organ and is the hub for multiple chemical functions,such as intermediary metabolism and the detoxification of ingested toxins,which are essential for the preservation of life,hence,the origin or the word“liver”.The liver has enormous,highly diversified catalytic potential.This enormous catalytic potential generates massive oxidative stress,which is important for the functions of the liver but is detrimental to the viability of the liver.The liver receives approximately 80%of its blood supply from the portal vein,which brings less saturated blood from the gastrointestinal tract.Hepatocytes operate in a relatively hypoxic microenvironment due to this portal inflow.The development of this hypoxic microenvironment of the liver is an important evolutionary adaptation for its detoxification function that is not recognized in the literature as a defence mechanism against the oxidative stress generated during the detoxification process.This review describes liver function in relation to its oxidative catalytic potential and the oxidative stress generated by it as well as the evolutionary defence mechanisms present in the liver against this oxidative stress to provide new insights into liver function. 展开更多

目的考察社会支持作用模型与应激事件发生前、中、后的关系,进一步探讨主效应和缓冲器模型。方法运用SDS,SAS,社会支持评定量表(SSRS),表少年生活事件量表(ASLEC)和情绪紧张度问卷对205名大学生进行围绕应激事件发生前、发生时及事件过... 目的考察社会支持作用模型与应激事件发生前、中、后的关系,进一步探讨主效应和缓冲器模型。方法运用SDS,SAS,社会支持评定量表(SSRS),表少年生活事件量表(ASLEC)和情绪紧张度问卷对205名大学生进行围绕应激事件发生前、发生时及事件过后的跟踪测查。结果1应激事件发生前社会支持高、低分组在SAS、SDS、情绪紧张度上没有出现差异;应激事件发生中、发生后社会支持高分组在SAS、SDS、情绪紧张度上得分均低于低分组;2情绪紧张度和社会支持各方面对抑郁状态和焦虑状态的解释度分别由43.6%到51.4%和39.2%到45.2%。结论社会支持主要通过缓冲个体对应激性生活事件的认知和压力产生后对压力的再评价来降低甚至消除压力的反应,间接地保护个体健康。 展开更多

利用AFLP分子标记对46个水稻品种进行遗传多样性分析,继而研究分子标记遗传距离与按照NC设计获得的195个杂交组合的产量及特殊配合力的相关性,探讨预测杂种优势的可能性。结果表明:(1)通过UPGMA聚类分析(图3),可将供试材料分为16个类群... 利用AFLP分子标记对46个水稻品种进行遗传多样性分析,继而研究分子标记遗传距离与按照NC设计获得的195个杂交组合的产量及特殊配合力的相关性,探讨预测杂种优势的可能性。结果表明:(1)通过UPGMA聚类分析(图3),可将供试材料分为16个类群,并把来源不明的品种(系)划分到相应类群中,从而对这些材料进行初步鉴定。可见,AFLP分子标记是检测类内品种间遗传差异的有效方法,为水稻品种(系)亲本选配提供理论依据。(2)分子标记遗传距离与杂种产量优势、F1产量、特殊配合力之间都呈显著正相关,相关系数介于0.3235-0.7713之间。但相关程度还不足以预测杂种优势。增效座位和减效座位以及使用与杂种优势有关的QTL连锁标记位点可能提高杂种优势的预测能力,但最终解决,将依赖于杂种优势遗传机理的研究。 展开更多

A Josephson traveling wave parametric amplifier(JTWPA),which is a quantum-limited amplifier with high gain and large bandwidth,is the core device of large-scale measurement and control systems for quantum computing.A typical JTWPA consists of thousands of Josephson junctions connected in series to form a transmission line and hundreds of shunt LC resonators periodically loaded along the line for phase matching.Because the variation of these capacitors and inductors can be detrimental to their high-frequency characteristics,the fabrication of a JTWPA typically necessitates precise processing equipment.To guide the fabrication process and further improve the design for manufacturability,it is necessary to understand how each electronic component affects the amplifier.In this paper,we use the harmonic balance method to conduct a comprehensive study on the impact of nonuniformity and fabrication yield of the electronic components on the performance of a JTWPA.The results provide insightful and scientific guidance for device design and fabrication processes. 展开更多
