The electropolymerised film of eriochrome black t was prepared on the surface of graphite pencil electrode by using cyclic voltammetry technique. The prepared electrode exhibits an excellent electrocatalytical activity towards the determination of dopamine. The effects of concentration, pH and scan rate were investigated. Simultaneous detection of dopamine and uric acid was investigated by using both cyclic voltammetric and differential pulse voltammetry technique. The modified electrode was also used for the detection of dopamine in injection.展开更多

A new series of polymers comprising four terpolymers was synthesized via Mannich polycondensation of benzene1,4diamine,formaldehyde and piperazine by varying the benzene1,4diamine and piperazine ratio.The new polyamin...A new series of polymers comprising four terpolymers was synthesized via Mannich polycondensation of benzene1,4diamine,formaldehyde and piperazine by varying the benzene1,4diamine and piperazine ratio.The new polyamines(labeled Dipip)were characterized using 13C solidstate NMR,FTIR,TGA,DSC,XRD,SEM and EDX.The adsorptive performances of the synthesized polymers for Erichrome Black T(EBT)uptake from aqueous solution were investigated under batch process.Equilibrium,kinetic,and thermodynamic studies were conducted to determine the influence of different operational parameters of the adsorption process.The two most promising polymers among the series show an excellent EBT removal efficiency of~100%and~95%with high adsorption capacities of 775 mgg 1 and 917 mgg 1,respectively at a meager dosage of 5 mg.The sorption of EBT on the polymers was well described by RedlichPeterson&Langmuir model while the kinetic studies indicate that pseudosecond order model was followed.For the thermodynamic studies,the negative AG and positive AH values obtained suggest a spontaneity of the sorption process which was endothermic in nature.The results of reusability test of the resins were promising even at the fourth cycle,showcasing the potentials of the new polymers in dyes contaminated water treatment.展开更多

The structural failures during seismic events notably impact a variety of facets of buildings within tolerable levels like sustainable strength and stable energy dissipation capability to sustain inter-story drifts and overall structural damages. The major structural elements such as columns, beams and soil shearing capacities are majorly affected during seismic events. Buildings situated in the earthquake prone zone are exposed to most concerns in the structural design. Boreholes are also one of the main factors responsible for seismic waves and soil shearing. Shear strength is a term used in soil mechanics to describe the magnitude of the shear stress that soil can sustain, especially selected BC soil. The shear resistance of soil is a result of friction and interlocking of particles, and possibly cementation or bonding at particle contacts. Soils consist of individual particles that can slide and roll relative to one another. Shear strength of a soil is equal to the maximum value of shear stress that can be mobilized within a soil mass without failure taking place. In many parts of the world to avoid or control these consequences, buildings have been constructed as steel-composite structures. However, in India, buildings are being constructed as RCC framed structures. Here a novel combination of VANE shear footing and BRB method has been introduced. In this article, the effects of boreholes increase seismic bearing capacity of foundation, and load bearing capacity to balance seismic pressure.展开更多

The result show...The effect of black plate on corrosion resistance of T5 tinplate was studied by glow discharge spectrograph, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), stress tester, roughness tester and metallographic microscope. The result shows that black plate influences corrosion resistance of T5 tinplate intensely. It also indicates that the increase of content of manganese, phosphorus, silicon and aluminum in black plate would reduce the corrosion resistance of T5 tinplate and the increase of degree of crystal orientation on (200) crystal face, |X-Y| value (internal stress difference within two orientation), roughness and exposure degree of iron grain after the same acid wash of black plate would enhance the corrosion resistance of T5 tinplate and the grain number of black plate has small effect on corrosion resistance of T5 tinplate.展开更多
