Mostly product design knowledge and experience exists in design handbook or expert’s brain. During design process,designer has to refer to many handbooks and design materials,and design solution is hard to be reused....Mostly product design knowledge and experience exists in design handbook or expert’s brain. During design process,designer has to refer to many handbooks and design materials,and design solution is hard to be reused. In order to deal with these deficiencies in digital design,this paper focuses on knowledge-reuse-oriented product modeling and knowledge management. Design knowledge is used to guide design process,and it is embedded into product model along with design process. Through analyzing design process,mechanical product knowledge is classified into four basic types that include calculation formula,design rule,engineering check and parameter spectrum etc. In order to manage and encapsulate design knowledge the concept of knowledge component(KCOM) is proposed. Design knowledge base can be organized as a hierarchy tree of KCOM. Knowledge reuse in KCOM level is the reuse of whole object in knowledge base,and knowledge reuse in item level is the reuse of basic knowledge type. Finally knowledge reuse approaches between knowledge base and CAD system is presented.展开更多

The case based design (CBD) is a methodology to follow mankind's problem solving strategy, one of its aims is to realize the design knowledge reuse. This method has been used in many fields, but there are still some difficulties that hindered its application. The first is about the difficulty in the formalization of a design case, especially representation of some experiences that was the weakness in former researches. the second is about the bottleneck of knowledgeacquisition that results in lacking enough knowledge in the modification process, which may lead to unreliable results when automatic inference is applied. We proposed that modification should be done not by machines but by designers while the inference results can be used as a suggestion to designers. In this manner we integrated both case-based and rule-based methodologies together. The third difficulty relates to case evolution and customization, former CBD systems suffered from this problem. We proposed an agilecase-template technique that overcomes the problem perfectly. To make users be able to define their own similarity rules we allow users to choose different parameter weights and fuzzy subjection functions of numeric parameters. The approach of this paper has been applied to an enterprise and the system is built on the Web.展开更多

This paper is aimed at designing a multiple expert systems integrated decision support system (MESIDSS) to enhance decision makers' ability in more complex cases. The basic framework, management system of multiple ESs, and functions of MESIDSS are presented. The applications of MESIDSS in large-scale decision making processes are discussed from the following aspects of problem decomposing, dynamic combination of multiple ESs, link of multiple bases and decision coordinating.
