Under the guidance of Translator Behavior Criticism and in combination with the “Truth-seeking-utility-attaining” Evaluative Model of Continuum towards Translator Behavior, the author first adopts a quantitative analysis of the vocabulary and syntactic aspects of the three translations based on the corpus, comparing their macroscopic features. Then, based on selected specific examples, the author qualitatively analyzes the translation characteristics of different versions, exploring the “degree of truthfulness/pragmatism” in relation to the original text, with the aim of providing a more objective and comprehensive evaluation of the translation behaviors of the three translators. Through the comparison, it is found that all three translations possess characteristics of Chinese novels. Tang’s and Hou’s translations tend to be more literal, emphasizing “truthfulness” to a greater extent. On the other hand, Yang’s translation leans more towards domestication, exhibiting higher degrees of pragmatism and its language is concise and accurate, which is more in line with Hemingway’s writing style.展开更多
