A with simultaneous Schur d...The problem of joint eigenvalue estimation for the non-defective commuting set of matrices A is addressed. A procedure revealing the joint eigenstructure by simultaneous diagonalization of. A with simultaneous Schur decomposition (SSD) and balance procedure alternately is proposed for performance considerations and also for overcoming the convergence difficulties of previous methods based only on simultaneous Schur form and unitary transformations, it is shown that the SSD procedure can be well incorporated with the balancing algorithm in a pingpong manner, i. e., each optimizes a cost function and at the same time serves as an acceleration procedure for the other. Under mild assumptions, the convergence of the two cost functions alternately optimized, i. e., the norm of A and the norm of the left-lower part of A is proved. Numerical experiments are conducted in a multi-dimensional harmonic retrieval application and suggest that the presented method converges considerably faster than the methods based on only unitary transformation for matrices which are not near to normality.展开更多

The higher the stress in the coal is, the stronger the deformation and the failure are, and also the signal of the EME will be. The EME is increased by a relatively large margin before the slight shock and rockburst break out at spot. Therefore, some methods to monitor and forecast the danger of rockburst were proposed, including the critical point and devia- tion values, which was by non-contract method. In the end, the observation of EME in Xingfu was used to analyze and forecast the danger level by the rockburst. Then, the measures were proposed to prevent and cure the rockburst.展开更多

China,as the biggest carbon market,has caught worldwide attention. However,most studies of CDM focus on economics and environmental science,few on its legal problems. Transaction activities are the essence of market mechanism. To protect the benefits of market participators and regulate the market orders,the Contract Law takes this important role along with development of market mechanism. Therefore,this paper only focuses on the carbon market in China,with the assessment of the risks in the CDM development first. The involved contracts will be identified and analyzed to point out the major contract legal issues in Chinese carbon market. In the meantime,this paper further discusses that measurements at both private level and governmental level should be taken to protect and realize the utility and equality of contract in the carbon market.展开更多

Although the series of time charter rates are themselves found non-stationary, thus precluding the use of many modeling methodologies, evidence provided by co-integration tests points to the existence of stable long-term relationships between the series. An assessment of the forecasts derived from the model suggests that the spec-ification of these long-term relationships does not improve the accuracy of long-term forecasts. It has been proved through some illustrative examples that the hybrid method has concurrently the advantages of the wide range of convergence, flexible demand for initial guess and good smoothness of iterative process as the homotopy algorithm, and the rapid convergent speed and high accuracy as Newton′s method. So the hybrid method is a prospective approach to predicting the azeotropes of nonideal mixtures.展开更多
Most aspects of construction projects mainly fall under contractual regime. However, when things go wrong such as when the project is abandoned for various reasons, they may create two different scenarios: a contract...Most aspects of construction projects mainly fall under contractual regime. However, when things go wrong such as when the project is abandoned for various reasons, they may create two different scenarios: a contract that is breached and a fixed structure that is left on the land which may constitute an incomplete benefit that is acquired by one of the parties. The transfer of such benefit is initially made with a legal ground, but that ground has since ceased to exist. If some aspect of that benefit cannot be recovered under a contract, enrichment rules may be competent to solve the problem. How to measure the different aspects of that enrichment is however a problem that may have different interpretations according to different conceptions of the foundations of enrichment liability in a particular legal system. This article explores the measures of enrichment in such cases of failed bilateral contracts scenarios working from South African perspective. It argues that in cases of failed bilateral contracts generating an enrichment situation, sanctioning a dual measure of enrichment in a legal system may be an appropriate avenue.展开更多
To provide a risk-sharing mechanism that encourages a component supplier and a manufacturer to expand their production capacity of components and products, many researches on SCM suggested that it is better for the SC...To provide a risk-sharing mechanism that encourages a component supplier and a manufacturer to expand their production capacity of components and products, many researches on SCM suggested that it is better for the SC players to connect a long-term contract with flexible preconditions before doing the decision-making of production capacity. With considering of the uncertainty of demand and integrity problems between SC players, it is difficult to set reasonable preconditions. As a result, under-investment problems still occur frequently. In this paper, after we had discussed the decision-making of production capacity with the preconditions by analyzing the character of the players, we verified the under-investment problem of the supply chain. In order to clarify the optimum preconditions to alleviate the under-investment problem, we also analyzed the relations between preconditions and supply capacity of the whole supply chain. In the last part of this paper, we proposed a method of preconditions setting in such uncertain situations.展开更多

The application of ensemble optimal interpolation in wave data assimilation in the South China Sea is presented. A sampling strategy for a stationary ensemble is first discussed. The stationary ensemble is constructed...The application of ensemble optimal interpolation in wave data assimilation in the South China Sea is presented. A sampling strategy for a stationary ensemble is first discussed. The stationary ensemble is constructed by sampling from 24-h-interval significant wave height differences of model outputs over a long period,and is validated with altimeter significant wave height data,indicating that the ensemble errors have nearly the same probability distribution function. The background error covariance fields expressed by the ensemble sampled are anisotropic. Updating the static samples by season,the seasonal characteristics of the correlation coefficient distribution are reflected. Hindcast experiments including assimilation and control runs are conducted for the summer of 2010 in the South China Sea. The effect of ensemble optimal interpolation assimilation on wave hindcasts is validated using different satellite altimeter data(Jason-1 and 2 and ENVISAT) and buoy observations. It is found that the ensemble-optimal-interpolation-based wave assimilation scheme for the South China Sea achieves improvements similar to those of the previous optimal-interpolation-based scheme,indicating that the practical application of this computationally cheap ensemble method is feasible.展开更多
