Chromatic Adaptation to Complex Field

Chromatic adaptation of human eyes to complex field is investigated using binocular asymmetric matching method. The results show that the leve of chromatic adapta- tion mainly depends on the average color of adapting field, whereas no obvious change oc- curs when the number of hues and their color differences vary in a complex field. The shifts of perceived color evoked by chromatic adaptation in CIE 1976 L U V color space are approximately proportional to the average color difference between the adapting field and reference field.

Eclectic approach and its application in classroom teaching

From the perspective of teaching methods theories, this paper probes into the feasibility of adopting the eclectic teaching method in college English teaching, especially the New horizon college English classroom teaching, with the intention of providing new insights for New horizon college English teaching practice.

On retranslation of famous book from the perspective of aesthetics of reception： The comparison of two translated versions of The old man and the sea

According to aesthetics of reception, the reception of literature can be divided into two patterns, that is, vertical reception and horizontal reception. The former means determining the original text＇s meaning from the perspective of historical development. Readers in different history periods have different explanations and conclusions of certain writer or original text because of their different social and cultural backgrounds. The author of this thesis combines the viewpoint and the translation of famous book, holding that famous book has special aesthetical value and its explanation shouldn＇t be limited by certain translated version. Retranslation can keep and enrich the aesthetical value of the famous book and should be encouraged.

Effects of Boundary Conditions on the Design of Anti-Ram Bollards

Anti-ram bollards used in perimeter protection are tested to meet performance requirements of established standards such as the US Department of State Specification SD-STD-02.01. Under these standards, tests are conducted in prescribed conditions that should be representative of the service installation. In actual project, conditions encountered on site may vary from the test environment and it would be expensive and time consuming to validate each deviation with a physical test. High-fidelity physics-based (HFPB) finite element modeling can provide precise simulations of the behavior of anti-ram bollards. This paper presents the use of HFPB finite element modeling, using LS-DYNA, in an actual project to evaluate the performance of an anti-ram bollard design subjected to various boundary conditions representing the physical conditions encountered on site. The study shows that boundary conditions can have a significant influence on the performance of the anti-ram bollards. This suggests that anti-ram bollards must be designed and engineered according to actual conditions that are found on site. It also shows that HFPB modeling can be an effective tool that supplements physical testing of anti-ram bollards.

Vision-based behavior prediction of ball carrier in basketball matches

A new vision-based approach was presented for predicting the behavior of the ball carrier—shooting, passing and dribbling in basketball matches. It was proposed to recognize the ball carrier’s head pose by classifying its yaw angle to determine his vision range and the court situation of the sportsman within his vision range can be further learned. In basketball match videos characterized by cluttered background, fast motion of the sportsmen and low resolution of their head images, and the covariance descriptor, were adopted to fuse multiple visual features of the head region, which can be seen as a point on the Riemannian manifold and then mapped to the tangent space. Then, the classification of head yaw angle was directly completed in this space through the trained multiclass LogitBoost. In order to describe the court situation of all sportsmen within the ball carrier’s vision range, artificial potential field (APF)-based information was introduced. Finally, the behavior of the ball carrier—shooting, passing and dribbling, was predicted using radial basis function (RBF) neural network as the classifier. Experimental results show that the average prediction accuracy of the proposed method can reach 80% on the video recorded in basketball matches, which validates its effectiveness.

Negative Temperature of Inner Horizon and Planck Absolute Entropy of a Kerr-Newman Black Hole

Considering the contribution of both the outer and inner horizons, the Hamilton-Jacobi method is applied to a Kerr-Newman black hole and a negative temperature of the inner horizon is obtained. Under the negative temperature inside the black hole, the thermodynamics of the two horizons is studied, and the new Bekenstein-Smarr formula is given. The entropies of the inner and outer horizons are all positive. The new entropy expression of the black hole satisfies the Nernst Theorem and can be regarded as the Planck absolute entropy.

Explore and practice healthy personality of students to develop an international perspective of Higher Education

A unified personality commonly referred to as is the sum of the person＇ s character, temperament, ability and other characteristics , as well as personal ethics, thought, soul, behaviors, attitudes and social responsibility aspects. Personality is certain physiological basis, formed and developed in social practice and it is the result of genetic and environmental factors, the society may influence the development of a number of factors of personality. The so-called healthy personality refers to personality harmonious, comprehensive and healthy development. Because of contemporary college students study pressure, economic pressure, the employment pressure, emotional stress and other factors, it results in morbid psychology; personality psychology highlights the unhealthy phenomenon. In recent years, especially college students＇ personality distortions continue to occur, it is caused widespread concern of the whole society, to strengthen and shape the health of college students has become an important personality of an urgent work.

Combined use of fine needle aspiration cytology and full field digital mammography in preoperative assessment of breast masses

Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of these two methods and focus on the analysis and management of the false-negative cases. Methods: Results of full field digital mammography (FFDM) and fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) were obtained and analyzed from a consecutive of 102 women with palpable breast masses, results were correlated with the histopathological findings. Results: Of the 102 cases, malignancy was confirmed in 43 cases (42.16%) by final pathological examination, the sensitivity and specificity of cancer detection with FNA cytology was 90.7% (39/43) and 89.8% (53/59), re- spectively, the whole accuracy was 90.2% (92/102), with a positive predictive value of 86.7% (39/45) and a negative predictive value of 93.0% (53/57). FFDM gave a sensitivity of 88.4% (38/43), specificity of 83.1% (49/59), and whole accuracy 85.3% (87/102), the positive predictive value and negative predictive value was 79.2% (38/48) and 90.7% (49/54), respectively. All the FNAC-negative cancer cases were suggestive of malignancy by FFDM findings, however, the benign cases which present as equivocal finding by FNA cytology, could not be ruled out the presence of malignancy. Conclusion: FNAC and FFDM both are accurate, effective and economical diagnostic modalities, combined use of these two methods can reduced the misdiag- nosis rate of breast masses.

The Drive to Develop China＇s West： An Inclusive Perspective

Since the launching of the western regional development program in 1999, the Chinese government has implemented a series of policy measures related to finance, taxation, investment, banking, and other related fields. This combination of policies has stimulated socioeconomic growth and ecological improvement in China＇s western regions and has effectively curbed the runaway gap between the east and west, even causing the gap to begin shrinking gradually. However, it should be noted that the development gap between China＇s eastern and western regions remains significant, as demonstrated by the west＇s low level of industrial^commercial development, local governments＇ limited capacity to provide public services, and endemic rural poverty. Thus, achieving the targets outlined in the western regional development program remains a challenging task. In the future, China＇s western development program should emphasize a higher standard of living and coordinated, inclusive growth across regions.

The Belt and Road Initiative Working Towards a Global Vision

The Belt and Road Initiative is proposed as an international strategy in China. In the eyes of the Chinese people, the Belt and Road Initiative is an international strategy rather than a regional strategy, the goals of which are to coordinate an all-around opening of China to the world and promote further integration of the country into the global economy. So the strategy is talked in almost every field in China. However, Outside of China, the discussion about the Belt and Road initiative does not always provide encouragement and support and typically there are more disputes than agreements. Implementation of Belt and Road is going to reconstruct regional interests and balance powers throughout the world. There are many difficulties in achieving the goal, so China has to realize the true situation in neighboring countries and provide more chances for Non-Governmental Organizations as well as illustrating to the world how China will do in the future.

Comparative Analysis of New Horizon College English and Experiencing English

College English plays a vital role in English teaching in China. However, any teaching is inseparable from the assistance of teaching material. Interpretations of St. Francis of Assisi in the 20th Century： Philosophical-Anthropological Perspective

The article deals with investigating and comparing key modern and postmodern interpretations of St. Francis of Assisi from a philosophical-anthropological perspective. We determine these interpretations to be as follows： a man of wonder and lover of wisdom, in other words, a true philosopher; hero of all times; defender of the poverty and poor; “champion of liberty”; peace-maker and pacifist; God＇s troubadour; patron of nature and animals. All of these manifestations of St. Francis＇ personality have been enriched by his Christocentrism and joyful vision. Moreover, this can be traced in primary sources and also echoes in the late modern period. Postmodernity not only incorporated similar motives into the cultural space with new focus and accent, but it also put forward some new visions. St. Francis was postulated as God＇s Fool, not so much in the medieval as in the postmodern sense of foolishness and madness as a way of interaction with the absurd and puzzle-like world in which we live. It also reconciles traditional opposition between joy and laughter as inner feelings and outward emotions within the frame of the postmodern Divine Comedy.

Kingship in Nepal： Envisioning a Contemporary Perspective

The aim of this study is to observe the prospect of kingship in Nepal. It presents an analysis of the people＇s perspective on dismissed monarchy and challenges faced by Nepal. There was little voice on Nepali monarchy system, yet many individuals and researcher expressed the need for monarchy to build nation and keep its culture, tradition, and nation unity. To promote the democratic system, political parties should practice democratic norms and respect rules of law in real life rather than just in talk. For the express of people voice and envision prosperous Nepal, this paper attempts to contribute to the need of monarchy back in Nepal far its savereignty and unity. The paper gives a historical overview of kingship in Nepal and discusses incompetent political parties and the importance of monarchy in Nepal. It identifies that to unite the Nepal and Nepali and give the nation social cultural identity, and it needs any form of monarchy in Nepal. The past and present, despite of political systems, social movement, and practice seen from the political parties were failed several times to fulfill people＇s mandate, such as holding election, writing constitution. The fields discussed in the paper include apathetic attitude of the political parties toward establishing peace and stability in Nepal.

The Construction of the Aged Carers under the Internationa Comparative Perspective
