The dyadic Green's function and the method are used to analyze this Kind of multimode rectangular medium-filled cavity. The distribution of electromagnetic field intensity and the power density,as well as the temperature effect in the biological sample load are obtained.OPtimization of the size of cavity and the position of the input aperture have been performed with the computer to optimize the uniformity or microwave effect and the input VSWR.Necessary experiments were performed to compare the data obtained with theoretical analysis.展开更多

METHODS:Thirty-five patients with a total of 41 HCC nodules(≤3 cm in diameter)were treated with TACE followed by computed tomograghy(CT)-guided percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy(PMCT) within 1-3 wk. RESULTS:By biopsies and enhanced CT scans, complete necrosis of the tumor and 3-5 mm of the surrounding non-cancerous area were observed in 34 foci.In seven foci, incomplete necrosis of the surrounding parenchyma was observed.Serum alpha- fetoprotein(AFP)levels returned to normal 10 d after treatment in 25 patients who originally had high serum AFP levels. The follow-up period was 6-31 mo,and all patients remained alive. One patient had a recurrence in the subsegments of the liver, and another patient had a recurrence near the original lesion. CONCLUSION:Combined therapy with TACE and PMCT is a safe and effective treatment without severe complications for small HCC.展开更多

METHODS: From August 2007 to December 2010, a total of 11 patients with 23 abdominal wall nodules (diameter 2.59 cm ± 1.11 cm, range 1.3 cm to 5.0 cm) were treated with MW ablation. One antenna was inserted into the center of tumors less than 1.7 cm, and multiple antennae were inserted simultaneously into tumors 1.7 cm or larger. A 21 gauge thermocouple was inserted near important organs which required protection (such as bowel or gallbladder) for real-time temperature monitoring during MW ablation. Treatment outcome was observed by contrast-enhanced ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) [or computed tomography (CT)] during follow-up. RESULTS: MW ablation was well tolerated by all patients. Six patients with 11 nodules had 1 thermocouple inserted near important organs for real-time temperature monitoring and the maximum temperature was 56 ℃. Major complications included mild pain (54.5%), post-ablation fever (100%) and abdominal wall edema (25%). All 23 tumors (100%) in this group were completely ablated, and no residual tumor or local recurrence was observed at a median follow-up of 13 mo (range 1 to 32 mo). The ablation zone was well defined on contrast-enhanced imaging (contrast-enhanced CT, MRI and/or contrast-enhanced ultrasound) and gradually shrank with time. CONCLUSION: Ultrasound-guided MW ablation may be a feasible, safe and effective treatment for abdominal wall metastatic tumors in selected patients.展开更多

The surface contact angle and the Zeta potential of the coal macerals were measured both with and without the treat- ment. The results show that the surface wettability of SFF (Shenfu Fusain) and SFV (Shenfu Vitrain) can be changed by the microwave treatment. An increase in the difference in surface wettability of SFF and SFV causes in a subsequent increase in the enrichment of inertinite and vitrinite. The results of the Zeta potential measurements show that the surface potentials of SFF and SFV are also changed by the treatment.展开更多

METHODS Forty patients with small PHC (maximal diameter≤5 cm) were divided into a microwave group (19 cases) and a surgical operation group (21 cases). A real-time (RT) quantitative nested RT-PCR examination was performed for peripheral blood alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) mRNA. Studies were conducted to determine the level of CD3, CD4, CD8 and CD4/CD8 cells and for liver function at 30 min before, and 30 min,1 day and 3 days after the treatment. RESULTS Compared to the value before ablation, no obvious changes of CD3, CD4, CD8 and CD4/CD8 cells were found in patients of the microwave group within 7 days after ablation, but CD3, CD4 and CD4/CD8 cells in the operation group were lower compared to that before operation. The copy number of AFP mRNA in the peripheral blood samples of the patients of the 2 groups before operation was determined in 67.5% of the patients (27/40). There was an rise in the expression after treatment but no statistical difference was found in comparing the 2 groups. Follow-up of the patients was conducted for 1 to 16 months. For patients with continuous expression of peripheral blood AFP mRNA, the possibility of relapse and metastasis was increased. CONCLUSION Surgical resection or microwave ablation can cause more exfoliation of hepatoma carcinoma cells in the peripheral blood of patients with small PHC. The immune function of peripheral blood cells decreased in the patients after surgical resection, however, the immune function was better protected following microwave ablation. Microwave ablation causes minor reduction in liver function, and the treatment method presents a definite value for PHC therapy.展开更多

Methods: A convenient sample of 90 moderately severe acute pancreatitis was selected from March 2017 to December 2017 in the comprehensive hospital with third grade in Tianjin. The patients were divided into group A (acupoint application combined with microwave treatment), group B (acupoint application) and group C (routine nursing). Thirty patients were included in each group. This study need to get the informed consent of the patients. Acupoint application combined with microwave treatment was used, basing on routine nursing measures in group A. Acupoint application was used by the same way and the same traditional Chinese medicine ,basing on routine nursing measures in group B. Routine nursing used in group C. C-reactive protein and the score of intestinal function were measured on 3 th day, 7 th day and 10 th day, after intervention. To record the effective ratio of the treatment after 10 days of intervention. Results: There are significant statistical difference among the three group after intervention (P < 0.05). Conclusion: In some way, acupoint application combined with microwave treatment are able to decrease the time about the recovery of intestinal barrier dysfunction in moderately severe acute pancreatitis and to alleviate the suffering of patients.展开更多

METHODS: Seventy-eight patients with hepatocellular carcinoma underwent PMCT. Both cancerous and adjacent liver tissue were taken before, and 3, 17 and 30 days after PMCT using ultrasound-guided liver biopsy. Specimens were stained by immunohistochemical techniques for detecting CD3, CD45RO, CD56, CD68, and CD20 positive cells. RESULTS: A few CD3, CD45RO, CD56, CD68 and CD20 positive cells were observed in the cancer stroma and surrounding sinusoids in liver tissue pre-PMCT. The number of immunocytes, except for CD20 positive cells, was significantly increased both within the cancer and the adjacent liver tissue, with a larger increase in tumor tissue at day 3 post-PMCT compared with pre-PMCT. These immunocytes were enlarged in size. The number of CD3, CD45RO and CD56 positive cells peaked at day 17 and CD68 positive cells peaked at days 3 post-PMCT. At day 30 post-PMCT, this increase still existed. These infiltrating immunocytes distributed in the parenchyma of the tumor, and within the lumen of small blood vessels after PMCT. In addition, more infiltrated immune cells were seen in cancer cell spaces. CONCLUSIONS: A change in immunocyte infiltration takes place in number, configuration and location after patients with HCC are treated with percutaneous microwave coagulation, suggesting that local immune function is enhanced post-PMCT.展开更多
