Methods: Two hundred and fifteen members of competitive sports clubs responded to scales measuring coach characteristics of justice, benevolence, integrity, and competence; athlete's trust in the coach; commitment to coach; willingness to cooperate; and perceived performance. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis of data supported the measurement model. Perceptions of a coach's justice (β = 0.19, p 〈 0.05), benevolence (β = 0.32, p 〈 0.05), integrity (β= 0.14, p 〈 0.05), and competence (β = 0.29, p 〈 0.05) each had a significant effect on athletes' trust, and they cumulatively accounted for 61% of the variance in trust. The structural equation modeling showed that trust had direct effects on commitment to coach (β = 0.77, p 〈 0.01), willingness to cooperate (β= 0.79, p 〈 0.01 ), and perceived performance (β = 0.51, p 〈 0.01),. The hypothesized mediating effects of commitment to coach and willingness to cooperate were not supported. The model explained 26% of the variance in perceived performance. Conclusion: As trust in coach influences commitment to coach, willingness to cooperate, and perceived performance, coaches need to take effort to bolster their athletes' trust by being just and benevolent, and enhancing their integrity and competence.展开更多

Westernized nations where participation rates are low. The present and emotional instability to leisure time exercise relationships were Methods: Participants were 116 female and 97 male volunteers from a Southwestern community (mean age = 37.21 years, range 24-69) who completed measures of extraversion, emotional instability, approach-avoidance achievement goals, and 7-day recall of leisure-time exercise. Multiple mediation models (Preacher and Hayes, 2008) were run to specifically examine our hypotheses. Results: The mastery-approach goal mediated the relationship from extraversion to overall exercise and strenuous intensity exercise. Results indicated emotional instability had direct effects on overall and strenuous leisure time exercise while also having significant (p 〈 0.05) indirect mediation paths through the performance-approach and avoidance goals. The extraversion and emotional instability models accounted from 15.89% to 29.82% of variance in the various self-reported exercise measures. Conclusion: The results suggest the promotion of leisure-time exercise would be improved in the studied personalities by manipulation of achievement goals. Observing this trend, the authors analyzed whether Japanese FDI did promote exports from China to the rest of the world, and more importantly, whether this is a strategy adopted by Japanese multinationals to penetrate not only the Chinese market but also the global market. This analysis takes into account not only the direct effects of FDI on exports, but also the indirect effects, by examining the mediating role of export oriented Japanese FDI in China from 1998 to 2007 through panel analysis. The study contributes to the conceptual framework of indirect relationship among the macroeconomic variables, FDI and exports provides some insights into the strategy of export oriented Japanese FDI in creating a win-win platform for Japan and China.展开更多

Despite the importance of understanding the emotional aspects of occupational commitment, previous research has paid less attention to the role of emotion in occupational commitment. This article attempts to fill this gap by examining the relationship between dispositional trait and occupational commitment. The study examined how two dispositional traits-neuroticism and extroversion-influence occupational commitment through the linking of two discrete emotions including fear and enthusiasm. A survey study with questionnaires was conducted and sample consisted of 144 respondents from the home carers in Taiwan. The predictions were then tested through the SEM approach, with acceptable fit resulted. Results showed that enthusiasm mediated the effect of extroversion on occupational commitment but fear partially mediated the impact of neuroticism on occupational commitment. These findings suggest that workers with distinguish dispositional trait have different occupational commitment, supporting the mediating role of discrete emotion on the relationship between dispositional trait and occupational commitment.展开更多

The model potential consists of the t-channel and s-channel one-gluon exchange potentials and the harmonic oscillator confining potential. By means of the resonating group method, a nonlocal effective potential for the πN system is derived from the interquark potentials and used to calculate the πN elastic scattering phase shifts. By considering the effect of QCD renormalization, the suppression of the spin-orbital coupling and the contribution of the color octet of the clusters (qq) and (qqq), the numerical results are in fairly good agreement with the experimental data. The same model and method are employed to investigate the possible πN resonances. For this purpose, the resonating group equation is transformed into a standard Schrodinger equation in which the nonlocal effective πN interaction potential is included. Solving the Schrodinger equation by the variational method, we are able to reproduce the masses of some currently concerned πN resonances.展开更多

Through a questionnaire survey, we found that entrepreneurial orientation is positively related to new product performance, and knowledge creation process plays a mediating role in this relationship. This article examines the role of entrepreneurial orientation on new product innovation performance in Chinese situations, and it is the first time to check the intermediary functions on each dimension of knowledge test between entrepreneurial orientation and new product development performance.展开更多

The results show that: first, channel contention, channel areal differences and channel perception differences have a negative effect on financial performance and channel communication has a positive effect on financial performance significantly; second, market benefit has a positive effect on financial performance significantly; third, channel contention, channel areal differences and channel perception differences have a negative effect on market benefit and channel communication has a positive effect on market benefit significantly; forth, market benefit has a partial mediation effect on the influence of channel areal differences and channel communication on financial performance. Therefore, channel areal differences and channel communication are two major aspects among the dual distribution channel conflicts which may have influences on financial benefit of garment enterprises, and clothing company should lay emphasis on the settling of these two matters.展开更多

A commonly shared European culture together with its values has emerged as a product of such sociolinguistic dynamics. Following these encounters, whether at word borrowing level or morpho-syntactical level, European languages have had positive and/or negative effects on each other and have evolved ever since in this way as they have permeated themselves into culture. From the point of view on translation's intermediary role in enabling interaction between cultures throughout the history, the aim of the present study is to problematize the answers to the following questions: What are cultural ramifications that stem from linguistic encounter? What are the contributions of translated language to acculturation and enculturation processes? Can the new information through translation produce a culture translation phenomenon? How the hybrid understanding functions? Translation itself is a language encounter that makes impact on targeted languages as well as on its source. In this study, the dynamics that form this encounter space as a meta textual phenomenon has been problematized.展开更多

A questionnaire survey was conducted on 426 employees of high-tech enterprises within Jiangsu Province. Multiple regression method was used to test the hypothesis based on the questionnaire reliability and validity analysis. The results show that the four dimensions of CSR including employees responsibility, products responsibility, environment responsibility and charitable responsibility have positive effect on the affective commitment;while the continuance commitment might be more influenced by the environment and charitable responsibility. The regulatory focus plays a moderate effect between CSR and EOC. Promote regulatory focus have positive impact on affective commitment and negative impact on continuance commitment. Defense regulatory focus is just on the opposite.展开更多

The reaction tolerated both electron-donating and electron-withdrawing groups at the benzamide moiety. Electron-rich aryl acetylenes served as excellent coupling partners, and aliphatic terminal alkynes such as cyclopropyl and conjugate vinyl acetylenes could also be used as reaction partners. By means of 2 D NMR techniques(heteronuclear multiple bond correlation(HMBC), heteronuclear single quantum correlation(HSQC)),nitrilium ions were probed as reactive intermediates which are in contrast with that suggested by Movassaghi on the basis of in situ IR monitoring experiments. On the basis of these results, a plausible mechanism for the formation of quinolines was suggested.展开更多
