The electrochemical and the mass transport behavior of ABTS2-/ABTS'- (2,2'-azinobis(3- ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate)) redox couple at glassy carbon electrode (GCE) in phos- phate buffer solution (PBS, pH=...The electrochemical and the mass transport behavior of ABTS2-/ABTS'- (2,2'-azinobis(3- ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate)) redox couple at glassy carbon electrode (GCE) in phos- phate buffer solution (PBS, pH=4.4) is studied in detail by cyclic voltammetry combined with rotating disk electrode system. From the i-E curves recorded at different electrode rotating rate, rate constant, and transfer coefficient for ABTS 2-←→ABTS^-+e reaction at GCE electrode and the diffusion coefficient of ABTS2- in PBS are estimated to be 4.6× 10^-3 cm/s, 0.28, and 4.4× 10^-6 cm^2/s, respectively. The transfer coefficient with a value of ca. 0.28 differs largely from the value of 0.5 that is always assumed in the literature. The origins for the difference of the rate constant determined and the challenges for estimating the stan- dard rate constant are discussed. The performance for such ABTS2- mediated bio-cathode toward oxygen reduction reaction is discussed according to the over-potential drop as well as current output limit associated with the charge transfer kinetics of ABTS2- ←→ABTS-+e redox reaction and/or the mass transport effect.展开更多

This research is designed to investigate interlanguage fossilization in Chinese college students' written output. Twelve common linguistic errors from 20 Chinese EFL (English as a foreign language) learners' writi...This research is designed to investigate interlanguage fossilization in Chinese college students' written output. Twelve common linguistic errors from 20 Chinese EFL (English as a foreign language) learners' writing assignments are observed. Results show that among 12 typical errors, five types of errors are declining while the rest are increasing, indicating a tendency towards fossilization. Analysis shows that negative/corrective feedback has played a key role in reducing fossilization of some errors, but it does not work in every case. Some errors tend to be fossilized for several reasons. First, language items that do not have a direct form-function relationship are likely to be fossilized. Second, advanced learners create their own language system and neglect the basic rules of grammar. Third, task difficulty takes learners' attention away from form to meaning. Fourth, ingrained thinking patterns have a great impact on how learners organize their thoughts in writing. It is true that many Chinese EFL advanced learners reach a plateau in the process of acquiring English. However, attention, consciousness, and training of self-monitoring ability will help destabilize their interlanguage system.展开更多

The Foreign Language Listening Anxiety Scale (FLLAS) scores before and after a 13-week experimental treatment course were used to compare learners' anxiety before and after receiving intervention by two means. Objective:To study the efficacy and safety of hepatic arterial infusion of Endostatin(YH-16,Endostar),combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) on advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.Methods:Thirty pa...Objective:To study the efficacy and safety of hepatic arterial infusion of Endostatin(YH-16,Endostar),combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) on advanced hepatocellular carcinoma.Methods:Thirty patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma were enrolled in the study.The patients received hepatic arterial infusion of Endostar combined with TACE.The efficacy was evaluated strictly after 1-2 cycles according to RECIST criteria and the value of AFP;quality of life(QOL) was evaluated according to Karnofsky scores.Adverse effects were evaluated too.Results:29 cases' efficacy was evaluated among the total 30 cases.The KPS were significantly increased after the treatment(80.39 ± 8.37 vs 73.93 ± 9.22,P = 0.002).Compared with control group,the objective response rate(CR and PR) and the rate of AFP negative changed were significantly higher(P = 0.021,P = 0.046).The adverse effects were not obvious.Conclusion:The QOL and preliminary efficiency of patients of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma may be improved by hepatic arterial infusion of Endostar combined with TACE,the rate of AFP negative changed were significantly higher too,and there are little of adverse effects.It is worthy to clinical generalization and further clinical observation.展开更多

In this paper, a new species, Lepidosaphes xizangensis Feng, sp. n. from Tibet, is described. Its damages to cypress trees are recorded. The new species is similar to Lepidosaphes pineti Borchsenius, 1958, with its perivulvar disc pores arranging in eight groups, but can be distinguished from the latter by the following characteristics: (1) gland spines between median lobes longer than median lobes; (2) distance between median lobes similar than width of median lobes; (3) dorsal gland ducts are much more slender. It enriches the diversity of Lepidosaphes fauna of China and adds new information of coccids' damages to cypress.展开更多

During the last 10 years, a lot of interests have been devoted to the so-called CDC (colossal dielectric constant) materials. The first materials exhibiting this behavior were the perovskite-based ceramics on the CC...During the last 10 years, a lot of interests have been devoted to the so-called CDC (colossal dielectric constant) materials. The first materials exhibiting this behavior were the perovskite-based ceramics on the CCTO (CaCuaTi4012) composition. Relative dielectric permittivity can attain values up to (or even larger than) 105. Nevertheless, their dielectric losses are too high, the lower values ranging 10%, in a narrow frequency range, thus limiting their applications. The underlying physical mechanisms at the origin of the CDC are still under study. The analysis of broadband impedance spectroscopy measurements leads most of the authors to propose an interracial polarization mechanism (at the electrodes or at internal barriers), there is a limited number of complementary electrical characterization techniques, which, up to now, comfort the proposed interracial polarization mechanisms. In the present work, I-V and time-domain polarization are used to characterize these materials. One of the main results is the observation of a non-symmetrical response of these materials related to the direction of the polarization. These results are observed for both macroscopic level on bulk polycrystalline material and within individual grains of the same samples. These results do not fit current accepted models for polarization for CDC materials.展开更多
After introducing the serious linguistic phenomenon of fossilization, clarifying terms and providing recommendations, the author makes an attempt to expound the various potential causes for fossilized errors from the ...After introducing the serious linguistic phenomenon of fossilization, clarifying terms and providing recommendations, the author makes an attempt to expound the various potential causes for fossilized errors from the biological, social-affective, cultural, cognitive, pedagogical and environmental perspectives and, in addition, suggests the relevance for EFL education in China and some ways of preventing the occurrence of fossilized errors. The paper is concerned with questions of etiology, rather than questions of ontology, so the focus of the paper is on the causal factors for fossilized errors in the interlanguage, including learner-specific factors and non learner-specific factors, such as biological, affective, language transfer, pedagogical, social and ideological culture, and environmental factors. It is proposed that prevention of fossilization is more significant than de-fossilization.展开更多

It aims to successfully and efficiently assign the nodes and links of a virtual network (VN) onto a shared...As a great challenge of network virtualization, virtual network embedding/mapping is increasingly important. It aims to successfully and efficiently assign the nodes and links of a virtual network (VN) onto a shared substrate network. The problem has been proved to be NP-hard and some heuristic algorithms have been proposed. However, most of the algorithms use only the local information of a node, such as CPU capacity and bandwidth, to determine how to map a VN, without considering the top- ological attributes which may pose significant impact on the performance of the embedding. In this paper, a new embedding algorithm is proposed based on real-time topological attributes. The concept ofbetweenness centrality in graph theory is borrowed to sort the nodes of VNs, and the nodes of the substrate network are sorted according to the correlation properties between the former selected and unselected nodes. In this way, node mapping and link mapping can be well coupled. A simulator is built to evaluate the performance of the proposed virtual network embedding (VNE) algorithm. The results show that the new algorithm significantly increases the revenue/cost (R/C) ratio and acceptance ratio as well as reduces the runtime.展开更多

The organic molecules gases (carbon species...Fe modified hollow carbon spheres with large cavity and mesoporous shell (Fe-MHCs) were successfully synthesized by a simple pyrolysis and simultaneous deposition method. The organic molecules gases (carbon species) from pyrolysis of polystyrene deposited in the hard template at the catalysis of Fe species existing in the sample during calcination at high temperature. The obtained Fe-MHCs showed uniform spherical morphology with large surface area (924 m^2 g^-1), mesoporous structure and a certain amount of Fe loaded. The Fe species and the special structure endowed the materials excellent catalytic activity in the oxidation of ethylbenzene to acetophenone. The conversion of 94.5% and the high selectivity to targeted product (97.4%) could be achieved and the acceptable recycling stability was also exhibited.展开更多
