All patients had Child-Pugh classification grade A or B,Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)performance status of 0-2,and MPVTT. The patients received either EVBT with stent placement,TACE,and sorafenib(group A,n = 37),or TACE with sorafenib(group B,n = 31). The time to progression(TTP) and overall survival(OS) were evaluated by propensity score analysis.RESULTS In the entire cohort, the 6-,12-,and 24-mo survival rates were 88.9%,54.3%,and 14.1% in group A,and 45.8%,0%,and 0% in group B,respectively(P < 0.001). The median TTP and OS were significantly longer in group A than group B(TTP: 9.0 mo vs 3.4 mo,P < 0.001; OS: 12.3 mo vs 5.2 mo,P < 0.001). In the propensity score-matched cohort, the median OS was longer in group A than in group B(10.3 mo vs 6.0 mo,P < 0.001). Similarly, the median TTP was longer in group A than in group B(9.0 mo vs 3.4 mo,P < 0.001). Multivariate Cox analysis revealed that the EVBT combined with stent placement,TACE,and sorafenib strategy was an independent predictor of favorable OS(HR = 0.18,P < 0.001). CONCLUSION EVBT combined with stent placement,TACE,and sorafenib might be a safe and effective palliative treatment option for MPVTT.展开更多

First, the principal component analysis(PCA)is applied to reduce the time dimension 153 594×128 of the fMRI data to 153 594×5 for simplifying complexity computation and obtaining 95% of the information. Secondly, a new kernel-based nonlinear ICA method referred as the kernel ICA(KICA)based on the Gaussian kernel is introduced to analyze the resting-state fMRI data and extract the DMN. Experimental results show that the KICA provides a better performance for the resting-state fMRI data analysis compared with the classical ICA. Furthermore, the DMN is accurately extracted and the noise is reduced.展开更多

In this, regard studied 30 specimens, 15 from lentic environment (lake) and 15 from lotic (river). Also, on right profile of these 25 morphometric variables were measured. On data matrix a PCA (principal components analysis) based on morphometric correlations matrix, which was defined in the new morphologic space of these specimens (3 principal components) which explain 73.23% of variability. Fish projection in first two principal components showed a morphological differentiation between two environments (lentic and lotic), with variables as, horizontal eye diameter, length maxilla, suggesting greater response of these fish in lotic environment by their adaptation to light conditions, predators threat and food distribution. Finally, in lotic environment these fish have thinner caudal peduncle, indicating greater plasticity, namely stylized fish.展开更多

The passive damping method by applying strong DC magnetic field requires too much time. So an active damping method by longitude marking lines is proposed to fulfill the fine damping for solid ESG rotor. The shape of rotor marking lines and the principle of fine damping are introduced. The simulation results prove that this fine damping method can effectively solve the problem of damping error introduced by active damping with equatorial marking line. The estimating resuits for damping time indicate that the fine damping time is less than 10 percent of passive damping time.展开更多

Mukherjee, moves to the USA whose biculturalism favors cultural interactions and fluid identities. Here she experiences the transformative powers of cultural interactions and frees herself and her work from the static power of cultural disjunction. Her personal experience highlights the need of immigrant characters to connect to the mainstream and not to be isolated from it The paper explores the problem of cultural adaptability and integration as experienced by Dimple, the main character in Mukherjee's novel Wife (1975). Based upon contemporary research on cultural and social identity formation, the paper analyses Dimple's inner struggle of identity in the context of her immigrant status, and it relates her ultimately tragic response to loneliness and alienation resulting in cultural disjunction, non-adaptability, and non-assimilation.展开更多

The binding energy is computed as a function of dot size and hydrostatic pressure. The numerical results show that the binding energy of the impurity state increases, attains a maximum value, and then decreases as the QD radius increases for any electric field. Moreover, the binding energy increases with the pressure for any size of dot. The Stark shift of the impurity energy for large dot size is much larger than that for the small dot size, and it is enhanced by the increase of electric field. We compare the binding energy of impurity state with and without strain effects, and the results show that the strain effects enhance the impurity binding energy considerably, especially for the small QD size. We also take the dielectric mismatch into account in our work.展开更多
