Human-object interaction(HOIs)detection is a new branch of visual relationship detection,which plays an important role in the field of image understanding.Because of the complexity and diversity of image content,the d...Human-object interaction(HOIs)detection is a new branch of visual relationship detection,which plays an important role in the field of image understanding.Because of the complexity and diversity of image content,the detection of HOIs is still an onerous challenge.Unlike most of the current works for HOIs detection which only rely on the pairwise information of a human and an object,we propose a graph-based HOIs detection method that models context and global structure information.Firstly,to better utilize the relations between humans and objects,the detected humans and objects are regarded as nodes to construct a fully connected undirected graph,and the graph is pruned to obtain an HOI graph that only preserving the edges connecting human and object nodes.Then,in order to obtain more robust features of human and object nodes,two different attention-based feature extraction networks are proposed,which model global and local contexts respectively.Finally,the graph attention network is introduced to pass messages between different nodes in the HOI graph iteratively,and detect the potential HOIs.Experiments on V-COCO and HICO-DET datasets verify the effectiveness of the proposed method,and show that it is superior to many existing methods.展开更多
Background: Built environments that are designed to provide accessible, attractive, and convenient locales promote regular physical activity(PA).Norway has great variability in its geographic, natural, and built envir...Background: Built environments that are designed to provide accessible, attractive, and convenient locales promote regular physical activity(PA).Norway has great variability in its geographic, natural, and built environment features. Urban areas have well-developed built environment features, whereas the rural areas are less walkable and this may influence the mode of transport. In general, active transport is more common in urban centers. Further, public transportation is more developed in urban areas, whereas motorized transport may be more widespread in the rural areas. Despite this, in Sogn & Fjordane, a rural county in western Norway, high PA levels are frequently observed. Thus, the aims of this study were to(1) explore perceived built environment features and characterize their associations with objectively measured PA levels in Norwegian adults and(2) explore the differences in these correlates between Sogn & Fjordane and the rest of Norway.Methods: In this cross-sectional study, participants used questionnaires to rate perceptions of their built environments, and their PA was objectively measured for 7 consecutive days using the Acti Graph GT1 M accelerometer. There were 972 Norwegian adults who were included in the study. The average age was 46.9 ± 6.5 years and 43.8% of participants were men. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression.Results: Total PA and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA) were both associated with perceived walkability, the community perception score, and active transport for commuting(all p ≤ 0.004). We also observed geographic-area-specific associations: the community perception score was negatively associated with total PA and MVPA in the rest of Norway(p ≤ 0.012) but not in Sogn & Fjordane. Public transport for commuting was positively associated with MVPA in Sogn & Fjordane(p = 0.03) but not in the rest of Norway.Conclusion: Total PA level and MVPA were associated with built environment factors, such as perceptions of community, perceived walkability,and engaging in active transport for commuting. Geographic differences in the PA correlates were observed, and thus, locally customized environmental population approaches aimed at increasing PA levels may be essential complements to individual behavior and lifestyle strategies.Further, objective measures of Norwegian built environments, such as geographic information system data, and validated walk-and bike-scores would advance the field.展开更多

Mrs. Morel has long been regarded by feminist critics as the destroyed, a victim destroyed by the male-dominated society, and her son Paul has been viewed as a destroyer of women. Based on a close reading of the novel, this paper examines Lawrence's characterization of Mrs. Morel and reveals that Mrs Morel actually belongs to the destroyer instead of the destroyed through an analysis of her relationship with the three male characters in the novel, thus providing new insights into the understanding of this classic novel.展开更多
Eruptive fires are one of the main causes of human losses in forest fire fighting. The sudden change in fire behaviour due to a fire eruption is extremely dangerous for fire-fighters because it is unpredictable. Very ...Eruptive fires are one of the main causes of human losses in forest fire fighting. The sudden change in fire behaviour due to a fire eruption is extremely dangerous for fire-fighters because it is unpredictable. Very little literature is available to support either modelling or occurrence prediction for this phenomenon. In this study, an unsteady physical model of fire spread is detailed, which describes the initiation and development of eruptive fires with an induced wind sub-model. The latter phenomenon is proposed as the mainspring of fire eruptions. Induced wind is proportional to the rate of spread and the rate of spread is in a non-linear relationship with induced wind. This feedback can converge or diverge depending on the conditions. The model allows both explaining why an eruption can occur and predicting explicitly its occurrence according to meteorological conditions, topographic parameters, fuel bed properties and fire front width. The model is tested by comparing its results to a set of experiments carried out at laboratory scale and during an outdoor wildfire, the Kornati accident.展开更多
