Then the article puts forth main modes and paths of sustainable economic development for the Silk Road Economic Belt (SREB): ecological civilization mode, regional economic integration mode, transportation economic belt mode and international tourism economic zone mode. Finally, the article summarizes the key scientific issues for the sustainable development in the SREB and puts forward several action projects which include establishing International Scientists League and Think Tanks, establishing international information sharing platform and scientific policy-making system of ecological environment and sustainable development of the SREB, starting international science cooperation and technology traineeship program of the SREB, founding the international cooperation committee in the SREB and founding transnational construction and win-win cooperation mechanism of coping with climate change and ecological environment.展开更多

Incubation time based fracture criteria for intact media and media with cracks are discussed. Available experimental data on high rate fracture of different rock materials and incubation time based fracture criteria are used in order to evaluate critical parameters of causing fracture in these materials. Previously discovered possibility to optimize (minimize) energy input for fracture is discussed in connection to industrial rock fracture processes. It is shown that optimal value of momentum associated with critical load in order to initialize fracture in rock media does strongly depend on the incubation time and the impact duration. Existence of optimal load shapes minimizing momentum for a single fracturing impact or a sequence of periodic fracturing impacts is demonstrated.展开更多

In this paper, the authors simplify a classic project scheduling problem, which is the nonlinear continuous time-cost tradeoff problem(TCTP). Simplifying TCTP is a simple path problem in a critical path method(CPM) network. The authors transform TCTP into a simple activity float problem and design a complex polynomial algorithm for its solution. First, the authors discover relationships between activity floats and path lengths by studying activity floats from the perspective of path instead of time.Second, the authors perform simplification and improve the efficiency and accuracy of the solution by deleting redundant activities and narrowing the duration intervals of non-redundant activities. Finally, the authors compare our method with current methods. The relationships between activity floats and path lengths provide new approaches for other path and correlative project problems.展开更多
