构建殷商学,探寻中华文明之源

文化兴则国运兴,文化强则民族强。构建殷商学,是贯彻落实习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想、践行文化强国战略的必然要求;是对中国优秀传统文化进行深度挖掘和阐发,实现创造性转化、创新性发展的具体实践;是河南“兴文化”工程对新时代殷商文化研究的再聚焦、再创新、再出发。殷商学是系统研究殷商时期人类社会活动规律、所展现的知识、经验、智慧及其相关理论的学问。新时代殷商学研究,最关键的是要从历史与文明的大视野把殷商文化作为一个信仰体系、文明体系和文化体系来研究。重点内容包括:天命观、商业与商文明、商族史、殷商时期的重大事件、重要人物以及商人的嗜酒风习。研究殷商学要正确处理中原学与殷商学的关系、殷商学与殷商文化的关系、殷商学与甲骨学的关系,突出繁荣的城市文明、灿烂的汉字文明、发达的青铜文明三个重要问题。构建殷商学需要重点深入研究殷商文化在中华文明乃至人类文明发展中的划时代意义和特殊性,最终推动殷商文化走出博物馆,活起来。

Rokeya Sakhawat Hossain： An Unknown Voice of Bengal

The whole world knows that England has her Mary Wollstonecraft and France has her Simone de Beauvoir as feminists, but the world knows a very little that Bengal also has her Rokeya Shakhawat Hossain, an intrepid feminist, who struggled till the last day of her life for the perfectly right assessment of the neglected Indian women, was born in 1880, in Pairaband, a small village in British India which now lies in the north-western part of present-day Bangladesh. She pioneered women＇s advancement and led the way to enlightening and empowering women breaking all the traditional social barriers. When the whole women folk were utterly distressed, deprived, and drowned under the dirt of illiteracy, fanaticism, superstitions, and prejudices and could not think of equal rights and freedom, she raised her voice through her writings and worked to uplift the fortune of women, instilled a sense of renaissance in them and led them to tasting the flavor of freedom opposed to the current of patriarchal social views. Based on this bold attitude toward female emancipation, Rokeya can easily be acclaimed as a feminist whereas some critics have viewed her as a Muslim or Islamic feminist which is nothing but an immature attempt to underestimate her genius. It was true that she was brought up in an Islamic cultural milieu and tried to educate the then lagged behind Muslim girls which, the critics probably cogitated as the main aim of her life overlooking the universality of women＇s problems she dealt with and her non-sectarian outlook of life. In fact, she sprang up beyond the limitations the society placed upon her and was boldly vocal about the freedom of women irrespective of their distinctive faiths and social customs. This paper, therefore, aims at exploring Rokeya＇s Istrijatir Abanati （Woman＇s Downfall） （1903） with a view to showing her firm determination, endeavors, and voice to emancipate women, and advocating her as a concerned feminist.

The Importance of Parent＇s Intervention in Early Years

The purpose of this article is to highlight the importance of parent involvement and intervention in early childhood education. What formulates the lock and key theory in early childhood programs is parental participation versus educational achievement. Upon the parents＇ vital involvement, it is perceived that social and cognitive development, aided by educators, will be significantly achieved. Furthermore, parent＇s early intervention is an added value to classrooms and schools, for it creates a dimension of involvement in the decisions which shape the children＇s education as a whole. Moreover, and due to parent/teacher cooperation in the classroom and at home, the child＇s interest in learning will be triggered, yielding other positive outcomes. Therefore, people must emphasize the parent＇s role in order to aid children＇s complex and evolving multi-cultural and global nature.

English Vocabulary Memorizing Strategies by Chinese University Students

The findings of the study indicate that students prefer to engage in the vocabulary learning strategies that would be most appealing to them and that would entail less manipulation of the language. Of the four vocabulary memorizing strategies cited in the study （rote repetition, structural associations, semantic strategies, and mnemonic keyword techniques）, students apparently tended to favor the second and the third ones, though rote repetition remains appealing to some of them. Mnemonic devices such as keyword method were rather unpopular to most of the students because they would involve the learners in more active performance of the target language.

Text Analysis and Developing Students＇ English Thinking Ability

Different from other studies, the paper makes some attempts to combine text analysis with developing students＇ English thinking ability. Based on the view that English thinking ability is connected with improving overall language abilities such as listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating, the paper proposes approaches to develop English thinking ability as well as syntactic fluency. The paper presents a hypothesis： The development of a text is the author＇s train of thought. If one wants to acquire the thinking way used by author, the indirect but efficient approach is to analyze the texts written by the authors. If we want to develop students＇ thinking ability, the way is to analyze the various texts rather than to give the list of text developing principles. Therefore, the key to the problem is how to analyze text so as to improve students＇ thinking ability？ Michael Stubbs in his Discourse Analysis wrote, ＂Predict ability may be the single most important feature of human communication, precisely since it is central not only to all level of language; but also central to meaning and to thinking in general. Predictions are possible because language is structured. Such intuitive predictions are in turn a crucial part of our data in setting up language structures.＂ According to the view given by Michael Stubbs, the paper offers three approaches to analyzing texts.

Dynamics of Globalization： Linguistic and Cultural Perspectives in Nigeria

The word globalization and what it stands for is no longer new in the world of today. However, there is still no universal definition of globalization. This has led to erroneously or otherwise, the interchangeable use of the word with internationalization and liberalization. Suffice it therefore to say that globalization is the transcendence of the economic, political, environmental, social and cultural constraints across territories. The task of this paper is essentially to ascertain the level of involvement of Africa via Nigeria in this new international economic power and order. This is necessary because Nigeria particularly, has become a good consumer of information technology which is an essential ingredient of globalization. The issue then is how prepared are the Nigerian languages in the challenges of information technology as demanded by globalization. What are the implications of the order to Nigerian cultural revival and development？

Humanistic Principles in the Circle of European Literature Themes

There is the question--can we hope that humanism and erudition can redevelop nowadays？ In the long history of humanistic inheritance, from ancient times till the end of the 18th century, there was obvious decadence of essential humanistic points. As the historial period, humanism means revival of classical culture, and as a specific culturological phenomenon, it means erudite education created by Hellens and developed by Romans, who recovered ＂humanitas＂ as global education. Italy was the first who helped humanists to contemplate on classical culture; and in post-medieval age, Italian humanists achieved a supreme measure of humanism through their ＂humanistic studies.＂ We will try to point out good achievements of humanism erudite education in European culture in later epochs. Humanism leads man to turn over to world--after medieval stricture--and it becomes self-conscious revolution, what we can see in Latin literature till the 18th century. Rise of individualism, development of libraries and humanistic academies give chance to latin tradition in European literature as universal discipline, including erudite education in international corpus （Ragusa also）. High-intellectual and latinized elites with humanistic state of mind develop complex spiritual inteligency with science requests in later epochs too. We will try to explain in which degree humanism, with its synthetic point of view, influences on later corpus of European literary themes and how great its actuallity is nowdays.

Ecology, Love, and Relationships in Sir Philip Sidney＇s Astrophil and Stella

One of the threats to the modem men today is the quick change in seasons and unusual fluctuations in temperature Contemporary life is marked with various conditions that make life comparatively different and for that matter difficult for everyone. Amongst many worldly things, like materialism, struggle to survive in the highly competitive urban settings, people tend to consider the merits of cosmopolitanism more than anything else Curiously enough, Sir Philip Sidney＇s sonnets, though written in the 16th century and become milestones of the sonnet tradition in the English Renaissance which are applicable to today＇s global concern of environmentalism. When considered in the light of ecocriticism, Sidney＇s sonnets provide a suitable ground for the modem readers to reevaluate the current situation of the world we live in and the nature that we inherit from our ancestors. This paper aims to analyze some of Sidney＇s selected sonnets from Astrophil and Stella in the light of ecocritical approach to literary works.

Main Stages of Evolution from Mechanical Automatic Systems to Humanoid Robot

Since ancient times, man has been concerned to create an artificial structure similar to itself. This concern has remained constant attention and creative thinkers most profound since antiquity until today, it is of greatest interest. This article aims to highlight the most significant moments of the evolution from mechanical creatures mythical or real, from antiquity to the present humanoid robots. There are thus shown the most significant variants humanoid imagined or realized since Talos, described in Greek mythology, continuing with mechanical machines during late Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire and then the Renaissance of the post-renaissance, then they are shown the main achievements of the industrialization period from the nineteenth to the early part of the twentieth century, then to the most important made in the last decades of the twentieth century and early twenty-first century. The work is important to stimulate concerns academic theorists and practice but also in the industrial practice specializing in robotics and more generally in mechatronics. It also opens the prospect of defining the concept of an artificial humanoid useful both for human prosthesis with certain disabilities, and a humanoid robot performance.

Typical Water-land Utilization GIAHS in Low-lying Areas:The Xinghua Duotian Agrosystem Example in China

Xinghua Duotian Agrosystem is a raised ifeld agriculture system with typical water-land utilization. It was identiifed as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems （GIAHS） site by FAO in April 2014. Based on a literature review and ifeld investigations, we analyzed the history and development, structure and characteristics, functions and values of the Xinghua Duotian Agrosystem in this research. The system has a long history, rich biodiversity, important ecosystem services, traditional adapted agricultural technologies and a folk culture. Altogether, these features form an attractive landscape created by its special water-land utilization. It also has great importance for the livelihood maintenance of the local people. However, the inheritance and conservation effort of Xinghua Duotian Agrosystem is facing great threats from modern agriculture, urbanization and labor loss. This paper wil provide insight into the Xinghua Duotian Agrosystem, and provide scientiifc support for the conservation and development of this special system. It will also provide a good example for similar areas in China and worldwide.

Spatial Distribution and Cultural Features of Traditional Villages in Beijing and Influencing Factors

Traditional villages are important part of Beijing, an internationally famous historic and cultural city. Exploring the spatial distribution and cultural features of traditional villages, and the factors that have shaped them,will help promote the protection and utilization of traditional villages in Beijing. ArcGIS spatial analysis, literature analysis, fieldwork and in-depth interviews were mainly carried out to analyze the spatial distribution and cultural features of traditional villages in Beijing and their influencing factors. The results show three main features.(1) The overall distribution of traditional villages in Beijing is random, although there are more traditional villages in the southwest and northeast and less in the southeast and northwest. Most of them are distributed along the higher piedmont plains or intermountain basins, and most of them are backed by hills and surrounded by rivers or along the ancient road.(2) There are some cultural commonalities among the traditional villages in Beijing, and nine typical traditional village cultures have been formed, including traditional residential culture, traditional folklore culture,the Great Wall garrison culture, mausoleum guarding culture, etc.(3) The formation of the spatial distribution and cultural features of traditional villages in Beijing is influenced by natural environmental factors like terrain, climate,and rivers, as well as human activities such as royal life, capital construction, ancient military defense, transportation, trade, etc. This study can provide a reference for the scientific protection and effective utilization of traditional villages in Beijing and all over the country.
