Crop germplasm resources are the material basis for the breeding of new varieties, and strategic resources for food production, ecological security and agricultural sustainable development. Constructing a scientific, environmental-friendly and energy-saving medium-term genebank is essential for preserving crop germplasm resources. However, the construction of medium-term genebank involves a wide range of subjects but lacks unified standard, which might result in many difficulties in the process of construction and application. According to the key parameters of refrigeration system for medium-term genebank, the cooling load was calculated and key system schemes were determined in this paper. Based on the calculation results and designed schemes, the equipment selection was discussed and the standards for construction of bank and monitoring system were proposed with the aim to provide references for germplasm genebank design and equipment selection. 展开更多

After the failure of the last negotiations talks in July 2017, there is common strategic reason that calls for a mutually accepted resolution among all the parties involved. The situation calls to put aside national feelings and the burden of history and move forward. What is of crucial importance is not only the maintenance of international peace and regional stability but also the enhancement of the welfare of the people of this turbulent region. In this work an economical evaluation that established the viability of a low enthalpy geothermal resource as an energy source in north Africa is presented. The factors considered included the payback period, average rate of return, net present value, and net benefit-cost ratio. The model was based on utilising the energy source to energise four models that comprised thermal equipment consisting of water/air cooled single/half effect lithium bromide water mixture absorption chillers and an R-245fa organic Rankine cycle. These modelled cycles were based on the energy demand for Waddan city a community in southern Libya which has a demand for combined cooling/electricity only or cooling/electricity with district hot water supply. The results revealed that all of the proposed simulated stand-alone models, except the water-cooled half effect chiller, are not economically viable unless they are heavily subsidized or combined with the district hot water supply at least in the winter season. 展开更多
