In order to analyze the effects of different cooperative mechanisms between a mobile device manufacturer and a mobile network operator ( MNO ), a Stackelberg structure is constructed. The manufacturer acts as a leader, while the MNO acts as a follower, i. e., a traditional retailer. Three cooperative mechanisms are considered: the manufacturer does not invest in developing the propriety function and software to support the infrastructure capacity of the MNO; the manufacturer invests in the development; the MNO offers a subsidy to encourage the manufacturer to invest in development. The results reveal that investing in the development can increase the profits of both the manufacturer and the MNO. Furthermore, if the MNO shares certain investment costs with the manufacturer, the MNO may charge higher prices of mobile connection services and mobile value-added services, and the profits of the two players may be enhanced. 展开更多

To enhance the practicability of the trust negotiation system, an agent based automated trust negotiation model (ABAM) is proposed. The ABAM introduces an agent to keep the negotiation process with no human intervention. Meanwhile, the ABAM specifies the format of a meta access control policy, and adopts credentials with flexible format to meet the requirements of access control policies instead of disclosing the whole contents of a certificate. Furthermore, the ABAM uses asymmetric functions with a high security intensity to encrypt the transmitting message, which can prevent information from being attacked. Finally, the ABAM presents a new negotiation protocol to guide the negotiation process. A use case is studied to illuminate that the ABAM is sound and reasonable. Compared with the existing work, the intelligence, privacy and negotiation efficiency are improved in the ABAM. 展开更多

State of the art overviews of automated negotiation is given. The main barriers to automated negotiation such as protocol and ontology are discussed. Then, a model of automated negotiation is presented with the ontologies of roles and goods described by web ontology language (OWL), the proposal strategies based on the information sets, and a set of rules for agent interaction. In this model, agents coming from different organizations can negotiate automatically based on common ontologies defined by OWL and formal protocol. This makes it possible for the automated negotiation to be performed in an open environment such as Internet, not merely in a closed system. 展开更多

The new adaptive genetic algorithm(AGA) is built for inducing suitable search and optimization relationship. The use of six fuzzy logic controllers(6FLCs) is proposed for dynamic control genetic operating parameters of a symbolic-coded GA. This paper uses AGA based on 6FLCs to deal with the travelling salesman problem (TSP). Experimental results show that AGA based on 6FLCs is more efficient than a standard GA in solving combinatorial optimization problems similar to TSP. 展开更多

Understanding the dynamic traffic and usage characteristics of data services in cellular networks is important for optimising network resources and improving user experience.Recent studies have illustrated traffic characteristics from specific perspectives,such as user behaviour,device type,and applications.In this paper,we present the results of our study from a different perspective,namely service providers,to reveal the traffic characteristics of cellular data networks.Our study is based on traffic data collected over a five-day period from a leading mobile operator's core network in China.We propose a Zipf-like model to characterise the distributions of the traffic volume,subscribers,and requests among service providers.Nine distinct diurnal traffic patterns of service providers are identified by formulating and solving a time series clustering problem.Our work differs from previous related works in that we perform measurements on a large quantity of data covering 2.2 billion traffic records,and we first explore the traffic patterns of thousands of service providers.Results of our study present mobile Internet participants with a better understanding of the traffic and usage characteristics of service providers,which play a critical role in the mobile Internet era. 展开更多

Motivated by the objective of pursuing revenue, improvement in coverage and reduction in energy cost for wireless communication networks have been of great significance for mobile operators. Therefore, heterogeneous cellular networks(HCNs) and Coordinated Multipoint(Co MP) transmission are considered as promising solutions to enhance the performances of wireless communication systems. This paper analyzed the K-tier HCNs with a dynamic downlink Co MP scheme, in which the flexible clusters of cooperative stations are determined by a connecting threshold θ. Using stochastic geometry, the coverage probability(CP) and energy efficiency(EE) of a K-tier HCN operating under this scheme are derived, based on which the trade-off between CP and EE is discovered and discussed. Simulation results show the validity of our derivations. The proposed schememay significantly reduce energy consumption sacrificing a small amount of CP, and outperforms the fixed scheme as well. The CP-EE trade-off are also revealed, whichsuggests suitable trade-off points between CP and EE that will deliver the maximum economic profitability. Tendencies discovered in this paper may provide the operators with opportunities for further optimization in pursuit of economic profitability. 展开更多

Plastic bags, though commonly used for packaging of goods, are highly durable and non- biodegradable. Plastic bag litter serves as a negative environmental externality detrimental to animal health and natural beauty of the environment. In an effort to curtail the excessive use of plastic bags in Botswana, the government introduced a plastic levy targeted at consumers at retail points. This study uses primary data collected from 367 respondents randomly selected from six geospatially and purposively selected shopping malls to determine the consumers' willingness to pay (WTP) for continued plastic bag usage and their willingness to accept (WTA) to shift to eco-friendly alternatives. The results of the study revealed that open dumping and burning of plastic litter are more common in Maun than in Gaborone, It also showed that there is a significant relationship between the level of education and W'FP. Further, there is a significant variation in income and education in respect to environmental awareness. The government should improve its efforts of sensitizing the public about the improper disposal of plastic bags. 展开更多

Meanwhile, tourism has attracted increasing attention as a high value-added service and a hot academic topic. However, the research on how to provide tour services based on context-aware services is in fact still at an early stage, limited to concept elaboration, service framework discussion, prototype system development etc. In this paper, we summarized the previous researches on context-aware services to establish the research foundation, put forward a way of analyzing a tour planning problem with a modified model of Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) and Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), and we applied an innovated Resource Constrain Project Scheduling Problem (RCPSP) mathematical model to solve the tour planning problem based on context information. Therefore, this paper wants to demonstrate and explain the differences about the value created in the Italian banking sector, where there is much diversity regarding size, legal form, and business model. This paper estimated and compared the value of Italian listed companies from 2010 to 2012 and found the result: Banks create more value if they are big and operate in investment banking. The cloud computing has been growing over the past few years, and service providers are creating an intense competitive world of business. This proliferation makes it hard for new users to select a proper service among a large amount of service candidates. A novel user preferences-aware recommendation approach for trustworthy services is presented. For describing the requirements of new users in different application scenarios, user preferences are identified by usage preference, trust preference and cost preference. According to the similarity analysis of usage preference between consumers and new users, the candidates are selected, and these data about service trust provided by them are calculated as the fuzzy comprehensive evaluations. In accordance with the trust and cost preferences of new users, the dynamic fuzzy clusters are generated based on the fuzzy similarity computation. Then, the most suitable services can be selected to recommend to new users. The experiments show that this approach is effective and feasible, and can improve the quality of services recommendation meeting the requirements of new users in different scenario. 展开更多

This paper takes a retrospective look of Lao Zi's Dao De Jing (Tao Te Jing, 道德经).1 The discussion provides Lao Zi's definition of enlightenment in comparison to the western philosophical tradition and examines his focal concepts of Dao (the Way,道) and Virtue (德), their relationship as well as the connection with enlightenment and education. The purpose of this study is to investigate the constraints that the workers in silver sport industry experience and the solutions. In this study, six workers in silver sport industry participating in the elderly job fair held in Ilsan in 2016 were selected as subjects and interviewed in depth. The sports equipment that the six subjects exhibited and their sales and PR (Public Relations) behaviors during the fair were observed, and they were interviewed about the current status of the sports goods industry, constraints as workers, and solutions to resolve the constraints. A senior sports goods developer analyzed sports goods development and PR process through a case study. The result of this study is as follows. The constraints of silver sport industry environment are constraints on investment and lack of research and development, legal and institutional constraints, and economic constraints. The constraints of the silver sport goods industrial field are anxiety for the production of unproven high-cost goods, constraints on unstable institutions, and constraints from the difficulties in collaboration. The solutions of such problems are as follows. First, it is needed to resolve the high production cost. Second, it is need to resolve the difficulties in delivery. Whereas, with traditional EAI solution, it is difficult to efficiently link the different proprietary applications and data sources, and difficult to enable the system to rapidly identify and respond to changes in the dynamic business environment. In order to solve these problems, this paper uses the Web Services technology for EAI. This paper discusses the traditional EAI technologies and the bottlenecks for applications integration, also elaborates the Web Services technology and the advantages suited for applications integration. Therefore, the model of EAI with Web Services (EAIWS) is proposed to efficiently implement the integration of diverse applications and systems within or between the enterprises. The increase in the number of shopbots users in e-commerce has triggered flexibility of sellers in their pricing strategies. Sellers see the importance of automated price setting which provides efficient services to a large number of buyers who are using shopbots. This paper studies the characteristic of decreasing energy with time in a continuous model of a Hopfield neural network that is the decreasing of errors in the network with respect to time. The characteristic shows that it is possible to use Hopfield neural network to get the main factor of dynamic pricing; the least variable cost, from production function principles. The least variable cost is obtained by reducing or increasing the input combination factors, and then making the comparison of the network output with the desired output, where the difference between the network output and desired output will be decreasing in the same manner as in the Hopfield neural network energy. Hopfield neural network will simplify the rapid change of prices in e-commerce during transaction that depends on the demand quantity for demand sensitive model of pricing. 展开更多

In agent-based automated negotiation research area,a key problem is how to make software agent more adaptable to represent user preferences or suggestions,so that agent can take further proposals that reflect user requirements to implement ecommerce activities like automated transactions.The difficulty lies in the uncertainty of user preferences that include uncertain description and contents,non-linear and dynamic variability.In this paper,fuzzy language was used to describe the uncertainty and combine with multiple classified artificial neural networks(ANNs) for self-adaptive learning of user preferences.The refinement learning results of various negotiation contracts' satisfaction degrees in the extent of fuzzy classification can be achieved.Compared to unclassified computation,the experimental results illustrate that the learning ability and effectiveness of agents have been improved. 展开更多

Supported by a new generation of mobile devices, e-commerce is now in the process of being converted into m-commerce. While the traditional fixed PC access to the Internet continues to be important, the mobile access appears to attract more people because of its flexibility. The purpose of this paper is to develop and analyze a mathematical model for capturing how e-commerce performance would be affected by the mobile access to the Internet, where the original paper by Sumita and Yoshii (2010) is extended for better reality. The traditional e-commerce via the fixed PC access is compared with m-commerce which accommodates both the fixed PC access and the mobile access. The distribution of the number of products purchased by time t and the distribution of the time required for selling K products are derived explicitly. Numerical examples are given for illustrating behavioral differences between m-commerce consumers and traditional e-commerce consumers. 展开更多
