A two-step finite element method was presented. It was applied to analyze an extra long span composite bridge. The conversion of structure system and the mechanical behavior of the bridge were analyzed with two different construction methods. The stresses of steel beams, precast slabs and in-situ-place concrete under the total load were compared. The results show that steel-concrete composite structure with overlap slab has many advantages, the construction method that the top in-situ concrete and the concrete in construction joints are cast respectively is rather reasonable than the one that the top in-situ concrete and the concrete in construction joints are cast at the same time, and the two-step finite element method is affective to such large-scale structures. 展开更多

Aimed at the problem that Fourier decomposition method(FDM)is sensitive to noise and existing mode mixing cannot accurately extract gearbox fault features,a gear fault feature extraction method combining compound dictionary noise reduction and optimized FDM(OFDM)is proposed.Firstly,the characteristics of the gear signals are used to construct a compound dictionary,and the orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm(OMP)is combined to reduce the noise of the vibration signal.Secondly,in order to overcome the mode mixing phenomenon occuring during the decomposition of FDM,a method of frequency band division based on the extremum of the spectrum is proposed to optimize the decomposition quality.Then,the OFDM is used to decompose the signal into several analytic Fourier intrinsic band functions(AFIBFs).Finally,the AFIBF with the largest correlation coefficient is selected for Hilbert envelope spectrum analysis.The fault feature frequencies of the vibration signal can be accurately extracted.The proposed method is validated through analyzing the gearbox fault simulation signal and the real vibration signals collected from an experimental gearbox. 展开更多

AIM:To give an overview of the literature on intussusception due to inflammatory fibroid polyp(IFP).METHODS:We present a new case of ileal intussusception due to IFP and a literature review of studies published in English language on intussusception due to IFP,accessed via PubMed and Google Scholar databases.For the search,the keywords used were:intussusception,IFP,intussusception and IFP,intussusception due to IFP,and IFP presenting as intussusception.The search covered all articles from 1976 to November 2011.RESULTS:We present a 38-year-old woman who was admitted 10 d after experiencing abdominal pain,vomiting,and nausea.Ultrasonography demonstrated small bowel intussusception.An ileal intussusception due to a mass lesion 50 cm proximal to the ileocecal junction was found during laparotomy.Partial ileal resection and anastomosis were performed.A diagnosis of ileal IFP was made based on the immunohistochemical findings.In addition,a total of 56 reports concerning 85 cases of intussusception due to IFP meeting the aforementioned criteria was included in the literature review.The patients were aged 4 to 81 years(mean,49 ± 16.2 years);44 were women(mean,51.8 ± 14.3 years) and 41 were men(mean,46 ± 17.5 years).According to the location of the IFP,ileal intussusception was found in 63 patients,while 17 had jejunal,three had colonic,and two had ileojejunal intussusception.CONCLUSION:Although IFPs are rare and benign,surgery is the only solution in case of intestinal obstruction.Differential diagnosis should be made via immunohistochemical examination. 展开更多

In optical performance monitoring system,the analog to digital converter is needed to detect the peak of nanosecond pulse and get the signal envelope.A scheme based on a designed anti-aliasing filter and analog to digital converter is proposed to broaden the nanosecond pulse and make it easier for the analog to digital converter to catch the peak of the nanosecond pulse.The experimental results demonstrate that,with the proposed scheme,the optical performance system needs less time to get the recovered eye-diagram of high speed optical data signal,and is robust to phase mismatch in the analog to digital converter circuit. 展开更多

Using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, we have investigated the kinetics of the graphene edge folding process. The lower limit of the energy barrier is found to be -380 meV/A (or about 800 meV per edge atom) and -50 meV/A (or about 120 meV per edge atom) for folding the edges of intrinsic clean single-layer graphene (SLG) and double-layer graphene (DLG), respectively. However, the edge folding barriers can be substantially reduced by imbalanced chemical adsorption, such as of H atoms, on the two sides of graphene along the edges. Our studies indicate that thermal folding is not feasible at room temperature (RT) for clean SLG and DLG edges and is feasible at high temperature only for DLG edges, whereas chemical folding (with adsorbates) of both SLG and DLG edges can be spontaneous at RT. These findings suggest that the folded edge structures of suspended graphene observed in some experiments are possibly due to the presence of adsorbates at the edges. 展开更多
