Impact of Shipping Distance on Online Retailers' Sales:A Case Study of Maiyang on Tmall

Many studies have qualitatively explained that information and communication technology(ICT) has loosened the restrictions of distance and space on retailers' sales. Few empirical studies, however, have explored the impact of shipping distance on online retailers' sales. This study examined the Maiyang(M-Y) store on Tmall in China as a case study to investigate the relationship between shipping distance and sales. The results showed that sales volume in 2014 at the county level did not strictly obey the distance decay law. The shipped distance of high-priced commodities may not be much longer than that of low-priced commodities. Within the scope of investigation, the relationships between income, cost, and net profit curves do not follow central place theory. Goods have neither thresholds nor ranges. The key factor in the spatial discrepancy of sales is the size of market. The impact of shipping distance on sales is not as strong as that of traditional retailers in Information Era.

Effect of Trader Composition on Stock Market

In this study, we build a double auction market model, which contains two types of agent traders, i.e., the noise traders and fundamentalists, to investigate the effect of the trader composition on the stock market. It is found that, the non-trivial Hurst exponent and the fat-tailed distribution of transaction prices can be observed at any ratio of the noise traders. Analyses on the price variation properties, including the Hurst exponent and the price variation region, show that these properties are stable when the ratio is moderate. However, the non-price variation properties, including the trading volume and the profitability of the two kinds of agents, do not keep stable untrivially in any interval of the ratio of noise traders.

Differences in Browning Index and CIELAB Coordinates of the Two Grape Drying Processes, Traditional Sun-Drying and Chamber-Drying and during the Ageing of Pedro Ximenez Sweet Wine

The color parameters during the Pedro Ximenez grape raisining, as well as the sweet wine aging process from the Montilla-Moriles grapes （Andalusia, Southern Spain）, have been studied. Drying process of grapes was carried out by means of the traditional sun-drying method and an alternative chamber-drying method under 50℃. Chamber-drying allows shorter drying time and select grapes at a higher ripening degree. During raisining grape musts decreased in hab （hue angle） and increased in Cab （chroma）. In comparative terms, the final values of hue were virtually identical in both types of drying, although differences were found in the final values of chromaticity, being lower in the chamber-drying method. Changes in the color parameters during aging were compared in commercial wines with different aging systems and without aging. Likewise, as a reference of traditional wine aging system, the color changes in wines with four aging degrees were also studied. Regarding to the commercial wines studied, it can be pointed out the wine aged without blends for 4 years significantly differed in the values of hab and C＊ab of the remaining wines, which show more similar values among them and in the data obtained for the wines aged by the traditional aging system.

Evaluation of harmonious development for economy-environment system in coastal cities: a case study of Tianjin Municipality

With the aim of the harmonious development of economy-environment system in coastal cities in China. an index ,system used to evaluate the economy-environment system is built up in this paper, which includes four aspects： economy, environment, resources, and ocean industry. Based on the analysis on present condition and future trends of economic development in Tianjin and the quantification of various evaluation indices, the aathor applies integrated index valuation model to valuate the harmonious development af economy-environment of Tianjin. The results show that the coordinated degree of economy-environment would drop down in the future, from 0.95（superior level of harmonious development） in 2000 to 0.59（inferior level of harmonious development） in 2015. under the circumstance of the current economic development mode. The level of comprehensive development of Tianjin also presents to descend. Based on the analyzing of status and future trends of environment-economy coordinated development, the paper puts forward the countermeasures such as industry, structure adjustment, increasing the level of environmental protection investment, strengthening the enforcement of en vironmental policies to improve the coordinated development of environment-economy in Tianjin municipality.

Effect of Distributor Design on Gas-Liquid Distribution in Monolithic Bed at High Gas/Liquid Ratios

Experiments were carried out to investigate the liquid flow distribution at high gas/liquid ratios in a cold model monolith bed of a 0.048 m diameter with 62 cells per cm2.Three types of distributor for the liquid distribu-tion were used to evaluate their distribution performance.Local liquid saturation in individual channels was meas-ured using 16 single-point optical fiber probes mounted inside the channels.The results indicate that 1) The optical fiber probe technique can measure phase distribution in the monolith bed;2) Liquid saturation distribution along the radial direction of the monolith bed is not uniform and the extent of non-uniformity depends on the distributor de-sign and phase velocities;and 3) The tube array distributor provides superior liquid distribution performance over the showerhead and nozzle distributors.

The second section will outline the nature of human beings and the techniques, which are amongst the important aspects in Islamic counseling point of view. The discussion in this respect will considered characteristics of helping behavior and the notions of Islamic values.

On the Issue of Commercial Insurance and Commercial Insurance Market in the Slovak Republic

The article is concentrated on the Slovak commercial insurance, commercial insurance market, non-life insurance, and international risks on the Slovak Republic. Since 1 May 2004, the Slovak insurance market has been part of the uniform European Union insurance market, which includes over 5,000 insurance companies. After Slovakia’s admission to the European Union, several legislative changes have been adopted in the area of commercial insurance industry, which also influenced non-life insurance and the insurance of international risks as part of non-life risks. The most recent act in the area of commercial insurance mentioned in the paper is the Act of the National Council SR No. 39/2015 Coll. on Insurance, in which there are legislative changes in life and also non-life insurance. Basic terms are defined and commented on in the first two chapters （Lowry, Rawlings, ＆ Merkin, 2015）. The nature of international risks as part of non-life risks is described in the second chapter. International risks are classified in the third chapter; international risks are subdivided in the paper into commercial or trade risks, political and economic risks, and special types of risks.

Geographic distribution of archaeological sites and their response to climate and environmental change between 10.0–2.8 ka BP in the Poyang Lake Basin, China

The temporal-spatial geographic distribution of archaeological sites and its feature between 10.0-2.8 ka BP （ka BP= thousands of years before 0 BP, where ＂0 BP＂ is defined as the year AD 1950） were determined, based on GIS spatial analysis in the Poyang Lake Basin. The relationship between geographic distribution of sites of different periods under subsis- tence existence of ancient civilizations, climate and environmental change was investigated. The results revealed numerous archaeological sites of the Neolithic Age （10.0-3.6 ka BP）. The sites were mainly located in the northern part of the Poyang Lake Basin, a hilly and mountainous area with many river terraces suitable for the development of human civilization. The number of archaeological sites rapidly increased during the Shang and Zhou dynasties （3.6-2.8 ka BP） and spread widely on the floodplains of the middle and lower reaches of Ganjiang River and onto the west, south, and southeast beach areas of the Poyang Lake. Holocene records of climate change suggested that it was possible that climate fluctuations had a great impact on human evolution in the study area. Before 3.6 ka BP, westward and northward expansion of Neolithic cultures in the Poyang Lake watershed occurred under the background of climate amelioration （becoming warmer and wetter）. The ancient people lived in the hilly areas with high elevation. The simple mode of a fishing and gathering economy was mostly suited to this area in the early Neolithic Age. The scope of human activities was expanded and cultural diversity developed in the late Neolithic Age. However, with population growth and increasing survival pressure in a dry-cold climatic stage after 3.6 ka BP, this sim-pie living mode had to be abandoned, and various forms of economy, the majority being ag- riculture, were developed on flood plains of the lower reaches of numerous rivers around Poyang Lake. This promoted flourishing of the Bronze culture of South China.

Coherent state and normal ordering method for transiting Hermite polynomials to Laguerre polynomials

By virtue of the coherent state representation and the operator ordering method we find a new approach for transiting Hermite polynomials to Laguerre polynomials. We also derive the new reciprocal relation of Laguerre polynomials ∑n=0 （-1）n （n^l）Ln （x） = x^l/n, n-O and its application in deriving the sum rule of the Wingner function of Fock states is demonstrated. Some new expansion identities about the operator Laguerre polynomial are also derived. This opens a new route of deriving mathematical polynomials formulas by virtute of the quantum mechanical representations and operator ordering technique.

Successful couplings for a class of stochastic differential equations driven by Lvy processes

By constructing proper coupling operators for the integro-differential type Markov generator, we establish the existence of a successful coupling for a class of stochastic differential equations driven by Levy processes. Our result implies a new Liouville theorem for space-time bounded harmonic functions with respect to the underlying Markov semigroups, and it is sharp for Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes driven by s-stable Levy processes.

The Uniqueness of Inverse Problem for the Dirac Operators with Partial Information

The inverse spectral problem for the Dirac operators defined on the interval[0, π] with self-adjoint separated boundary conditions is considered. Some uniqueness results are obtained, which imply that the pair of potentials(p(x), r(x)) and a boundary condition are uniquely determined even if only partial information is given on(p(x), r(x))together with partial information on the spectral data, consisting of either one full spectrum and a subset of norming constants, or a subset of pairs of eigenvalues and the corresponding norming constants. Moreover, the authors are also concerned with the situation where both p(x) and r(x) are C n-smoothness at some given point.

Totally compatible associative and Lie dialgebras,tridendriform algebras and PostLie algebras

This paper studies the concepts of a totally compatible dialgebra and a totally compatible Lie dialgebra,defined to be a vector space with two binary operations that satisfy individual and mixed associativity conditions and Lie algebra conditions respectively.We show that totally compatible dialgebras are closely related to bimodule algebras and semi-homomorphisms.More significantly,Rota-Baxter operators on totally compatible dialgebras provide a uniform framework to generalize known results that Rota-Baxter related operators give tridendriform algebras.Free totally compatible dialgebras are constructed.We also show that a Rota-Baxter operator on a totally compatible Lie dialgebra gives rise to a PostLie algebra,generalizing the fact that a Rota-Baxter operator on a Lie algebra gives rise to a PostLie algebra.

Approximately unital operator systems

The main theme of this paper is to consider a notion of 'approximately unital operator systems' including both C*-algebras and unital operator systems.The goals are to prove a version of the Choi-Effros theorem for these systems,to introduce a functorial process for forming an approximately unital operator systems from a given matrix ordered vector space with a proper approximate order unit,to study second duals of these objects and to prove that a C*-algebra can be characterized as an approximately unital operator system that is also an approximately unital matrix ordered *-algebra.
