Our paper presents an interactive four-dimensional model for studying the long- and short-term development of the communication discipline with Israel serving as a case study: institutional-contextual, institutional-...Our paper presents an interactive four-dimensional model for studying the long- and short-term development of the communication discipline with Israel serving as a case study: institutional-contextual, institutional-in-field, intellectual-contextual, and intellectual-in-field. Our empirical analysis utilized personal interviews, archive documents, and statistical data. Four main processes were discerned: transition from integration to alienation between institutions of higher learning and the larger political and ideological context; a shift from Hebrew University Institute of Communication's institutional monopoly to a multiplicity of increasingly competitive communication schools/departments; transition from intellectual hegemony to limited intellectual diversity; and gradually improving status for the communication field among social science disciplines. Our case-study analysis validated the interactive relationship among the model's conceptual dimensions, calling for future cross-national comparisons.展开更多

The thermal equilibrium system is guaranteed to be entangled when system is cooled down below the entanglement...Energy is introduced as an entanglement witness to describe the entanglement property of a quantum system. The thermal equilibrium system is guaranteed to be entangled when system is cooled down below the entanglement temperature TE. By virtue of this concept we exploit the minimum separable state energy and entanglement temperature TE of the bilinear-biquadratic antiferromagnetic spin-1 chain model. We numerically calculate TE for arbitrary values of the strength of biquadratic exchange interaction Q up to N=7. We find TE decreases with Q for fixed N when Q is between -3 and 1/3 (J = 1). In this regime TE also decreases with N for fixed Q and varies slowly for large N. While the thermal system is always entangled when Q is smaller than -3.展开更多

Iran is strategically located on an important trade route (Silk Road) between four cradles of civilization namely, Babylon, Mesopotamia, Indus and Yangtze (Chinese). Iran is grafting point of four human civilizations which creates Persian civilization about 4,000 years ago. The Lut Desert and Dasht-e Kavir located the central and eastern Iran have been focal points for human settlements since 7,000 years ago. The geoarcheological findings on the Siyalk hills of Kashan located in the Dasht-e Kavir and Jiroft region located in the Lut desert are confirmations for human settlement since more than 7,000 years ago. Shorehzar that is a Persian equivalent word for Arabic word of Sabkha is considered as a Playa geomorphic type which involves precious evidences of quaternary fluctuations. In this article, geomorphological and paleoenvironmental investigations are integrated to provide a framework of environmental change for the late Pleistocene and early-mid Holocene periods in the main deserts of Iran, Lut. In this article based on main geotops of Lut, the quaternary evolutions have been discussed. The investigations are showing that Playas were bed of civilization in Iran Deserts.展开更多

Studies have shown obvious signs of neotectonic activities on the Xinyi-Wuhe segment of the Tancheng-Lujiang fault zone. In this study,on the basis of the previous work,many seismological surveys are made along the Tancheng-Lujiang fault zone and trenches are excavated in key sites.Combined with the analysis of the seismic activities along the fault,the fault movement features and future seismic risk are discussed. Much first-hand information obtained in the paper can provide an important reference value for the study of large earthquake recurrence rules and the mid and long-term earthquake prediction on the Xinyi-Wuhe segment of the Tancheng-Lujiang fault zone.展开更多

Methods Three hundred and forty-three patients were randomly divided into a pricking at Sìfèng (四缝 EX-UE 10) group (priking g...Objective To explore the best clinical treatment for infantile malnutrition. Methods Three hundred and forty-three patients were randomly divided into a pricking at Sìfèng (四缝 EX-UE 10) group (priking group, n=105), a Chinese herbs group (n=85) and a pricking and Chinese herbs group (n=153). The improvements of the clinical symptoms of all three groups were evaluated after the treatment. Results The results of these treatments for all the patients were satisfying. The effective rate of the pricking and Chinese herbs group, which was 98.7 % (151/153), was superior to that of 94.3 % (99/105) (P0.05) in the pricking group and 91.8% (78/85) in the Chinese herbs group (P0.01), while no differences in effective rate were found between the pricking group and the Chinese herbs group (P0.05). Conclusion The pricking at Sìfèng (四缝 EX-UE 10) combined with Chinese herbs is the best treatment for infantile malnutrition.展开更多
