With the rapid development of economy,the conversion of cultivated land into nonagricultural land occurs more frequently and makes cultivated land sparser.This article based on the decoupling theory takes the situatio...With the rapid development of economy,the conversion of cultivated land into nonagricultural land occurs more frequently and makes cultivated land sparser.This article based on the decoupling theory takes the situations of cultivated land occupation by construction and economic growth in China from 1998 to 2007 as an example to evaluate and analyze the decoupling.The conclusions are drawn as follows.First,the article applies IU curve and gross method.The decoupling status by gross method,in contrast to that by IU curve,can express the pressure from cultivated land occupation better and is similar to the decoupling status based on the model of decoupling in this article.Second,in most provinces of China,the relationship between the cultivated land occupation by construction and economic growth has transformed from expansive negative decoupling to strong decoupling.In general,the transformation was firstly from economically advanced eastern municipalities under the central government directly,then to economically advanced eastern coastal provinces,and lastly to central,western and northeastern regions.Third,the decoupling status was relative to contemporaneous policies and laws on cultivated land protection and regional development planning.Their effect is obvious and positive.展开更多
AIM:To examine whether a dose-up to 900 mg of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA) decreases transaminases in hepatitis C patients.METHODS:From January to December 2007,patients with chronic hepatitis C or compensated liver cir...AIM:To examine whether a dose-up to 900 mg of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA) decreases transaminases in hepatitis C patients.METHODS:From January to December 2007,patients with chronic hepatitis C or compensated liver cirrhosis with hepatitis C virus(HCV)(43-80 years old) showing positive serum HCV-RNA who had already taken 600 mg/d of UDCA were recruited into this study.Blood parameters were examined at 4,8 and 24 wk after increasing the dose of oral UDCA from 600 to 900 mg/d.RESULTS:Serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase(GGT) levels were signifi cantly decreased following the administration of 900 mg/d as compared to 600 mg/d.The decrease in ALT from immediately before the dose-up of UDCA to 8 wk after the dose-up was 14.3 IU/L,while that for AST was 10.5 IU/L and for GGT was 9.8 IU/L.Platelet count tended to increase after the dose-up of UDCA,although it did not show a statistically signifi cant level(P=0.05).Minor adverse events were observed in 3 cases,although no drop-outs from the study occurred.CONCLUSION:Oral administration of 900 mg/d of UDCA was more effective than 600 mg/d for reducing ALT,AST,and GGT levels in patients with HCV-related chronic liver disease.展开更多

This paper studies the division of labor and economic development under global value chains in North South trade by mainly investigating the changes of production hours and cost per unit along with more and more outpu...This paper studies the division of labor and economic development under global value chains in North South trade by mainly investigating the changes of production hours and cost per unit along with more and more output and increasing trade value in several industries in the U.S., because the U. S. is at the leading position in the division of labor by global value chains. The empirical evidence reveals that more international outsourcing, there will be more detailed division of labor, and the industry unit production time and production cost will show more declining trend year by year. This is consistent with that the global value chains and the outsourcing play more and more important roles in the international division of labor and economic growth in both developed and developing countries, and helps explain the integration of workforce across countries in the global value chains.展开更多
