Structural Intensity Characterization of Composite Laminates Subjected to Impact Load 被引量:4

The SI pattern of the laminates which have different fiber orientations and boundary conditions was analyzed. The resultant forces and velocities of the laminates were calculated, and the structural intensity was evaluated. The SI streamlines of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite laminates and the steel plates were discussed. The results show that the SI streamlines of the graphite/epoxy laminates are different from that of the steel plates, and the SI streamlines are influenced by the boundaries, the stacking sequence of the composite laminates. The change of the historical central displacement of the graphite/epoxy laminates is fasten than that of the steel plates. 展开更多

Research on Noise Control for Ventilators with Resonance

A study was carried out to control the noise produced by the ventilators at the Luling coalmine, which had caused serious noise pollution to the residents living around the mine for a long time. The main noise source was found to be the dynamic noise at the outlet of the diffuser. The frequency of its peak value was 250 Hz. A special brick with a resonant frequency of 250 Hz was designed to eliminate this noise. The diffusion of a lower frequency noise has been successfully controlled by the installation of a noise-eliminating tower above the diffuser outlet. The detection results show that the noise in the nearby residential area has been lowered to an average 55.3dB(A) in the daytime from 69.8dB(A) and to 48.4dB(A) at night from 65.8dB(A). 展开更多

The quest for materials and devices that are capable of controlling heat flux continues to fuel research on thermal controlling devices. In this letter, using molecular dynamics simulations, we demonstrate that a partially clamped singlelayer graphene can serve as a thermal modulator. The mismatch in phonon dispersion between the unclamped and clamped graphene sections results in phonon interface scattering, and the strength of interface scattering is tunable by controlling the clamp-graphene distance via applying the external pressure. Owing to the ultra-thin structure of graphene and its highly sensitive phonon dispersion to external physical interaction, the modulation efficiency--which is defined as the ratio of the highest to lowest heat flux-can reach as high as 150% at a moderate pressure of 50 GPa. This modulation efficiency can be further enhanced by arranging a number of clamps in series along the direction of the heat flux. 展开更多
